Lets talk diplomacy

Yeah, apparently his position of Overseer was working for a few more things. Making sure tech contracts were handled properly, reviewing what was going on with the research, and making sure that contracts and business was handled. With the Abrion Corporate Alliance being moved into a Technocracy, someone who knew what they were doing, for the greater good, should be making decisions.

While his candidate was now leading the government, an engineer all their own, Marek was doing what he did best. Finding the right alliances, and who to back them. And the Red Ravens had come to play. He was in touch with one, [member="Lysle of the Hydian Way"] recently to work a deal with the group and Bright Star and Tion, but this was moving faster than that. And he didn’t want to mix the two items.

The other group, he felt they knew what they were doing, and were just as motivated by credits as they were anything else. And that worked for him. There wasn’t the need for galactic conquest coming from the Abrion residents, just making the best technology and earning the credits they could.

Sure, it’d maybe not go over well, but that was why he was requesting police droids and airspeeders. Keep the blue collars in line. Awaiting the ship from the Red Ravens in his office on Hypori, the Overseer of the Technate, and now leader of trade and diplomacy (sort of), had a bottle of Whyren’s finest, and a Bright Star sponsored buffet, y’know, for two, and the Hydra War droids that were in the room, just in case.

Diplomacy wasn't one of Sigourney's strongest points. The Zeltron preferred to play the role of puppet master, one to pull the strings, not have her strings pulled. On account of Lysle's absence she would have to stand in for him and play the role of the diplomat. A hard task considering how little she cared for small talk. The Red Ravens had recently been bombed...twice. That was not something she would be voicing to a potential business partner, however. Most who entered a partnership would have preferred that their investment had been a safe and secure group. Lysle had been working to make sure this was the case, forcing Sigourney to step in.

Sigourney had landed on the temperate planet of Hypori. It had once been renowned for it's underground droid factories that produced heavy battle droids. A legacy that The Ravens had been searching for. A droid had been waiting for Sigourney at the docking bay, ready to direct her to it's owners office. She followed to small mechanical guide throughout the streets of the city until they arrived at the building that held [member="Marek Starchaser"]'s office. The droid led Sigourney to the metal office entranceway. Her eyes adjusted to the sight in the room, taking in the buffet that seemed to await them. Two War Droids stood on either side of the room. A mere precaution, she was sure, but the sight still made her nervous. Sigourney had been armed with only a vibroblade in case of emergency. She was a bounty hunter by trade, but now had not been the time to bear arms.
She crossed the path of the droid that stood closest to Marek. Feeling the gaze of it upon her. Lysle and Sigourney had not been the types to shy away from having a little protection int heir meetings, either. Especially after the recent attacks. Marek's Caution was a characteristic that Sigourney could respect. She crossed the room to greet her hopeful ally, extending her hand, "Mr. Starchaser, Sigourney Xanthius. I apologise for my partner's absence."

((No worries on the delay, we all have things!))

Marek was not the best at the diplomacy movements. He figured it wasn't so far from business that it was foreign. And when [member="Sigourney Xanthius"] apologized to him, he shook his head. "Circumstances never stay how we want them." Besides, she was a lot better looking than Lysle, no offense to the man. Truthfully, he wasn't expecting her and a bit of a stammer was coming from the Starchaser.

Looking around, he made a motion. "I had prepared for a larger party, just in case. Drink? Food?" He offered before standing up and extending his hand. "Marek Starchaser, of the Abrion Corporate Alliance, obviously."

"Circumstances never stay how we want them." [member="marek starchaser"] stumbled in response. Sigourney couldn't be sure of why he had momentarily struggled with his words but she wasn't one to bring it up and ask questions. Sigourney nodded in agreement, "I understand that all too well." She too had known that circumstances never stay how we wanted them, especially in terms of alliances and diplomacy meetings. The Ravens had been doing well on that front recently, asides from the occasional skirmish with their opponents.

Marek glanced around the room, "I had prepared for a larger party, just in case. Drink? Food?" Sigourney smiled in response "You do have excellent hospitality, I must admit. A drink sounds excellent." Her host stood, extending his hand towards the Zeltron, "Marek Starchaser, of the Abrion Corporate Alliance, obviously." Sigourney returned the gesture, shaking his hand. The Zeltron waited for her host to take a seat first, as was only polite. Sigourney couldn't be exactly sure of the correct way to conduct herself during diplomacy meetings. "I hope you don't think I'm rude for jumping straight to business, if you will?"
