Born to a human mother and a father who had disappeared long before their offspring's birth, the child spent its first few years of life in the slums of Nar Shaddaa. She was fed and had a roof to sleep under, but not much more was provided and notions such as affection were completely foreign to her. She was an artistic child, enjoying colors and music and expressionism. When in the confines of her small room, she would attempt to replicate figures and shapes she found beautiful, thinking nothing of her ability to change forms being too young to realize this was not something normal that everyone could do. The day her mother found out she was horrified, and fearing the still nameless creature she had given birth to decided to abandon her to her luck in Nar Shaddaa.
Her story would have been very short if it wasn't for an ambitious man that crossed paths with a shape-changing infant. This man, Feltt, was the ringleader of an outer rim itinerant circus known as the Acrophylia. Thinking the child could be an amazing addition to his freak show, he took her in and left Nar Shaddaa, not caring if the child had a family or someone looking for her. The people at the circus called her Jester, a stage name given to her by the Ringleader, and although there wasn't much affection there either she was sufficiently cared for. Jester grew up among performers, scammers, tourists and a long, colorful array of many mores. Never staying in the same place for more than a few months, she was constantly exposed to different cultures and people. As she gained skilled and renown throughout the outer-rim planets that the Acrophylia Circus visited, her numbers became more prominent and eventually, Jester was the main star of the Acrophylia's repertoire: the skin changing acrobat.
Having gained recognition, the Acrophylia moved to perform in more prominent planets. The last of them was Zeltros.

On a fated night, two spectators of the Acrophylia's freak show took note of the Jester's peculiarity, not only because of her changing skill but because of her affinity to the living Force. These people were Sith Knight and Illyrian Lady

. After earning a private audience with the Jester by bribing Ringmaster Feltt, the night ended with a bloodied arena when the artists of the Acrophylia tried to take on the Sith Knight. Feltt, blinded by anger, attempted to kill the youn changeling only to find his own death at the hands of the child instead, whom in a stroke of luck and Force-fueled fury managed to deliver the killing blow.
The Jester, now having chosen the name Leven Jeyd, became Yakieer's apprentice, a prospect that initially excited the young creature. That was, until the Mark of Yakieer found its way onto the girl's forearm and her form-shifting skills, her gift, the ability that made her the most precious being on the universe, in her own eyes, was stolen from her. A deep hatred took root within Leven directed at the one she was meant to call Master, one which would not be easily forgotten.

- Doppelganger: Like the fellow members of her species, Leven can change forms almost limitlessly, can produce an array of toxins and acids, possesses a deceptive strength and speed, can regenerate from wounds and can feed on the minds of others. However, Leven has never received guidance and does not even know what species she belongs to, believed by others to be some kind of talented shi'ido. Because of her lack of knowledge, certain skills of her species go unnoticed and unused.
- Circus Brat: Having grown up in a very unconventional environment, Leven has a surprising skill set of obscure and random abilities and knowledge picked up from all types of people. She knows and speaks many languages, learnt from fellow performers at the Acrophylia and despite her young age there is very little that she hasn't seen or heard of before. Having always been her own main caretaker, she is very independent.
- Performer: Her balance, coordination, flexibility and endurance are those of a high-performance athlete for her age. She knows how to handle a crowd and the experience in dealing with strangers has added to her manipulative nature immensely.
- As sly as a fox: Sharp-minded and annoyingly intelligent, Leven is a quick learner and an incredible schemer. She enjoys mind games and plotting, and her spontaneous and creative personality make her utterly unpredictable.
• Young: No matter how smart, Leven is fairly young. Inexperienced, lacking proper maturity and nowhere near as strong and resilient as an adult of her species. She has a lot of learning to do, not that she'd ever admit this - not even to herself.
• Playful: Hedonistic and too curious for her own good, Leven likes meddling with everything and everyone. Her antics are rarely welcomed by others, and she is often whimsical and troublesome, specially when bored.
• A child of neglect: Her street smarts are incredible, but it is a surprise that the girl can write and read. What little she has of academical knowledge, she taught herself and it is not much at all. She is used to being on her own and having little restraints if any at all, this makes her hard to handle as she harbors little respect for authority.
• Irresponsible: Unless she is fixating or a task is actually interesting to her, she is completely unreliable and her span of attention could only be compared to the one of a cathartic insect.
• Odd: Her perpetual acting and manipulation hides it well, but Leven is a bit antisocial. Social cues are something difficult for her to pick up on, making her relating to others in almost any capacity quite a challenge.
