Appearance:
Leyan's eyes are what truly make her a rare beauty in Crovhana. Blue eyes are only seen once in six generations of a typical Theowei family. To be able to see someone with blue eyes in Crovhana is like finding a four-leaf clover, a pot of gold, and the winning lottery ticket all at the same time. It's a symbol of good fortune and long life.
Personality:
Leyan is sensitive and delicate girl. She has never hurt anyone, nor does she ever even consider doing so. She is an avid pacifist. Gardens and places similar are where she prefers to spend a lot of her time. Her Earth Shaping abilities give her a miraculous green thumb. She loves animals almost as much as plants. Though Leyan seems content, there is also an air of sadness about her as well. Her quiet and gentle nature is the product of the depression from losing her parents only a few months before.
Biography:
As a young child, Leyan lived with her mother Yulara and her father Leetirin in a normal working-class home. They always had food on the table, and decent clothing on their bodies. Leyan would often spend her days going to school with the other children and playing in the streets with the stray animals she found. Everyone adored the girl for her sweet smile and beautifully rare blue eyes. When Leyan was six, her parents had become very popular with the citizens of Crovhana for their ideals and people-centered improvements that they had for the city. When the election of the King and Queen approached and Yulara and Leetirin won with a resounding victory. Thus, Leyan became unofficially known as "Princess Leyan".
As Leyan grew, she became more and more favored by the people of Crovhana, particularly the men. She was constantly praised for her beauty and her kindness. Though she had many suitors waiting to come calling for her, Leyan was never interested in dating or marriage. She spent most of her time in the royal gardens tending to the plants and feeding the small animals that wandered inside. Her parents knew that she was growing close to the age of womanhood and that they should start looking into possible husbands, but they didn't want to push their little girl into something she didn't want. All of this, however, was before Leyan met Rythar.
It was on the eve of Leyan's sixteenth birthday. She was dancing with a man by the name of Toreyl when he asked to speak with her... "in private". Being the innocent girl she was, Leyan followed him out into the gardens alone. It became obvious that he wanted more than just talk when Toreyl began painfully pinning her to a pillar and harshly kissing her. She managed to release a short and weak cry that wouldn't have been able to be heard over the music and conversing in the other room. But she hadn't realized that a hëmdael had made his way outside when he had realized she was missing. The hëmdael saved Leyan and sent Toreyl running. When she asked her rescuer's name, he replied with Rythar. So began the first and deepest love that Leyan has ever experienced.
Rythar became Leyan's personal bodyguard after that night, staying with her at all times and stationing himself outside her door at night. They formed a bond that made them inseparable. As time went on, Rythar and Leyan began growing closer and closer. Finally, they shared their first kiss. For the first time in her life, Leyan was in love. Yulara and Leetirin noticed the change in their daughter's behavior a little bit after this occurred. It took very little for Leyan to reveal her feelings toward Rythar. Overjoyed for their child, Yulara and Leetirin supported Leyan completely, assuring her that it was perfectly fine with them and that should marriage ever come into focus that they absolutely approved. Leyan couldn't have been happier. She told Rythar, and together they set a date to be married. It was a week before the wedding when everything spiraled out of control.
Elections for King and Queen were close at hand. Leyan's parents were no doubt going to be elected for a second term, but even if they lost they were going to have the wedding anyway. Naturally, they won. As Yulara and Leetirin held a private party to celebrate a second term they along with Rythar became suddenly ill. A doctor was called immediately, but they couldn't determine what the cause was, nor how to cure it. Within the course of twenty-four hours, all three of them died. Leyan's wonderful life was taken from her all at once. The poor girl was lost and confused, unable to think or comprehend what was happening. A day after her parents' and fiancee's deaths, the runner up was made King. It was none other than Toreyl. Leyan suspected foul play the moment she realized it was him. But she had no evidence against him.
It has been two months since the new King was elected. A new Queen is still being voted upon, but Toreyl has his gaze turned toward Leyan in that area. Everything feels so heavy to her now. She can't escape. She can't breathe. She's lost everything, and she can only think of one way out...
However, that was not to be. As Leyan jumped from the balcony of her palace room during the reception of the wedding, a man by the name of [member="Jak Sandrow"] found her. He smuggled the girl off of Retalik and decided to let her become his companion. He has also begun teaching her how to better use her Force abilities. Leyan feels free for the first time in a very long two months. With Jak to guide her and show her the galaxy, she will surely find a place where she can be happy.
