STRENGTHS

• Firepower: For a light cruiser, the Liberty-class is decently well armed with a variety of weapons to engage targets well above its weight class
• Fast: As a light cruiser, the ship has incredible speed that allows it to move and maneuver swiftly in an engagement
• Management: Featuring an automated management system, the ship allows for minimal crew in order to function effectively.
• Retractable: Most of the secondary armament can be retracted into the hull to appear less threatening and fool enemy scanners.

WEAKNESSES

• Defenses: Much of the ship’s power and space was sacrificed for speed and firepower, leaving it with defenses which can be easily overwhelmed if caught.
• Shields: The molecular shielding's capability is significantly weaker than those found in dedicated generators
• Armament: While featuring powerful weapons, most are situated along the broadsides, and the bow guns have a narrow turning radius.
• Rear: Due to the intended doctrine of the ship, the rear of the cruiser is lightly armed and vulnerable to attacks.

DESCRIPTION
After careful studies of various engagements and experiences spanning decades, Confederate engineers realized that several contemporaries and near-peer adversaries utilized similar fleet doctrines that can not always be beaten by raw, slow moving firepower.

The intended solution was to build a capital ship that could move quickly and hit the enemy with the same firepower as a larger ship. Coupled with a relatively simple and robust design, the Liberty-class is a versatile ship that can get in and around trouble rapidly, and be deployed in large numbers to bolster any fleet in need of support. Coupled with capable cargo and passenger space and a degree of independence, the Liberty-class is an excellent vessel for border patrols and skirmish action, as well as planetary deployment.
