Granted, the last thing that Josh had tried to do was insult or downplay her race. Portray them in a negative light, or anything of the sort. It was just an issue that Josh had where he was one thing - and that was just plain downright bluntly honest. He couldn't lie, similar to her, though not in the same fashion. While a lie wasn't a capital punishment in his culture, he just didn't like lying. And so he didn't, not unless he really had to. He prided himself on his honesty, as did friends that could handle it. He didn't hold back. Sadly, it seemed that Lye had not realized this just yet. He listened to her tirade with patient and understanding eyes, and when she finished, he took a deep breath.
"I must apologize as well for my words. Their intent was not ill, Lye, I promise" He spoke, using the new nickname he'd already affectionately dubbed her with. Lye for short instead of Lyellvi. "I have a similar issue, wherein I cannot lie. Well.. I can. But I just don't want to" He would reveal. "What use is to lie to someone's face, even if it's what they want to hear, right? When you could just be truthful and honest, and accept the consequences. You're doing them no favors by lying, and backstabbing them with false words. Why be dishonest, when you can be the one that people can trust, right? I would rather an enemy that would tell me the truth to my face, then a friend who would tell me a lie and stab me in the back" Josh would add. "As for your race... I'm just calling it as I see it. If you are happy with how your culture is, and how you are... Then that's good for you. I'm happy for you. I'm just calling things as I see them, from my honest to the Force point of view" Josh would add.
His mood became somber when she brought up his family, and he stared down at the table with a frown on his face. ".... Yeah. I lost them to an explosion when I was very young. I was brought up within the Republic, didn't get to grow up with my family. Just the people I worked with" Josh would reveal. More or less, while he hadn't said it, he'd grown up as a Jedi. That was all he had ever known. And it was all he would ever know, most likely. He smirked a bit when she called him a "family man". "I'm not really a family man" Josh would add. "I mean... I'd love to be. A husband and a father... To a wife and children. It's the dream, you know? But... With my luck, that dream will likely never come to fruition" He spoke somberly, giving a shrug. He'd accepted his dumb luck by now. "The people I love, the people I get close to... I just get hurt. Perhaps I'm just better off alone"
With the topic change, he chuckled. "I honestly just bought the chassis cheap, didn't really care what kind of droid he was. I built him so I could learn, not so I could use him to assassinate people. He's not skilled enough to defend me, not that I need defending" Josh would reveal. He chuckled at her story, but nodded. "I'd be happy to have your help in pointers regardless. I'll take what experience I can get. But I still want to build my droid alone. I need to learn, you know? But as long as I'm learning, it doesn't matter how I learn it. Even if that means a few pointers and advice here and there" He would add. "But keeping him with me to help in combat isn't a bad idea... Perhaps when he's better... Erm... Assembled. I'll have to bring you to my place sometime, we can look at him there. I don't keep him on my ship, just in case he malfunctions and attacks the controls or the engines" Joshua would add.
He would raise an amused eyebrow when she met his tongue-out motion with a lick right on his own tongue. He let out a laugh in response. "My my... You really are a wily one, once again" Josh would tease, retorting with a little lean in and a little lick across Lye's lips as a bit of revenge of his own. And not just a little lick either, he moved his tongue all along the lips, just getting every little detail. He was teasing her to the highest degree, letting her feel his wet tongue for an extended period of time. And thus, the flirts had gone to a bit of a high level, despite him not meaning them to. Though the bedroom eyes remark caught him off guard, he just laughed. "If you'd like to leave here and go spar together, let's do it then" He said as he would pay for his drinks. "Perhaps we can try my ship? Or yours, if you wish. Or better, we could try my place, it's not too far from here, we can rent a shuttle to it" Josh would offer.
This had gotten quite interesting. Interesting indeed.
