Licking Good Time

If you were to ask Jedi Master Joshua DragonsFlame what his favorite planet was, he'd say hands down it was Naboo. But what wasn't there to like about Naboo? It was usually quite sunny and hot out, the water was fresh and clean, there was hardly ever a cloud in the sky, and the beaches were some of the best locales one could find. And he lived here. That was a good enough reason.

Sure, there were giant killer monster fish... And gungans. But Naboo was great, and it even had great cantinas. Like the one Joshua was in now, at a table at the corner of one of Naboo's local cantinas, gingerly sipping an alcoholic beverage, just happy to be back home for the first time in... Well, quite some time. He didn't need to wear his hood here, or his robes. People just knew him as Josh here, and that was all he cared about. He could talk to people like a normal person, unlike... Well, pretty much anywhere else. During his time in his self imposed exile, he'd gotten to know most of the regulars here pretty well, so they saw him like family, and he saw them as family too.

It was nice to not have to just be "the Jedi Master" for once.

Thankfully, even at first sight - to some people Joshua was not a Jedi Master. In fact, some were less then familiar with the goings-on of the Order, what they were about being the limit of their knowledge. One such person was also visiting the cantina, with a cup of blossom wine free for her sampling at last and her taste-buds already burning from the delights she'd sampled. The female selonian did attract a few glances from time to time, they weren't exactly the most common race to see sauntering about alone in the middle of a Nabooian Cantina, however she made it quite clear that her focus was, indeed, the sampling of local cuisine. It was a perk of her new-found success she was loving to death, traveling to worlds she'd barely even heard of and seeing what they had to offer.

Her latest deal was certainly something worth writing home about - well...if that didn't, you know, attract a lot of bad attention to her - and a few ancient Mon Calamari navigational computers pulled from a lot of wreckage later, she had enough credits to travel to her next operation and visit a planet that had been highly recommended to her. Naboo was wonderful, it had an oddly comfortable climate and it was colorful. Admittedly it did hurt her eyes at times, but as the establishment made things clear - there was just as much to see indoors as there was outdoors.

Holding the wine glass left her in a little bit of a curious trance. She had never held something quite like it. It was dainty, wide and oddly shaped, reminding her of several legendary drinking chalices...yet made out of glass and the third one she'd accidentally snapped. Lips pressed to it's edges, she tilted her head back and sampled some more of her wine, exhaling in delight before her eyes wandered elsewhere. The locals were oddly nice to the strange man who'd been sipping his drink quite gingerly. He must have been some sort of local hero or well known political figure.

She felt more then a little out of place. Not only was she keeping all of her gear with her - which meant slinging about a hefty nerf-hide rucksack - but also wearing the same clothing she'd been using since leaving Tatooine. That being an slightly burnt and dirt stained white undershirt, hefty cargo pants (they did feel oddly accommodating when it came to the shape of her legs, not to mention the relief of having something to cut a hole for her tail into and still feel comfortable) and worn grey gunrunner's jacket. She held the same appearance a musty, messy scoundrel would keep rather then any form of businesswoman. Still, it was comfortable and thus would have to do until she had a word with one of the local tailors. It was about time she found some clothing that was a little more tailored to her needs.

She rose, likely wanting to deliver the wine glass to the bartender. Something she constantly insisted on doing, as if leaving it there meant it would be stolen. A simple enough job, however she was only a few steps in to her delivery and moving to walk past Joshua before...ZZZT! A crackling sound filled the air, cutting off a few conversations as she seemed to convulse, an odd squeaking sound leaving her as she stumbled and begun to fall over, dropping her glass in the process.

Josh wouldn't call himself some kind of local hero. He didn't really tell many people here who he was. He just chatted them up, was himself, and he made casual conversation. Once in awhile, he'd tell stories of battle, but he never said who he was. Generally, he made it out like he was some kind of soldier or military member in the Republic at some point, which wasn't that far from the truth. He had plenty of war stories to tell, after all. Why not share them with the kind people here in Naboo, right?

Some people were a little nicer then usual, while others gave him angry looks due to his former Republic roots. Sure, he was a former Republic member, but old grudges died hard. But usually, most of these angry people were charmed by his personality. The Jedi Master was just genuinely nice to everyone that he spoke to in the cantina, they couldn't help but greet him with high fives and cheers when he entered the bar. Of course, it was normal by now that they were used to him drinking alone, though if anyone came over to his table to talk to him, the young man was always game to listen. He'd always been friendly to whoever wanted to speak, and his reputation was based off that. He didn't say his name often, at least not his full name. Them just knowing him as "Josh" was just fine. On occasion, someone would recognize him as a Jedi Master, but they would in time be captivated by him just being Josh, and they too joined that group.

A woman, and a hell of a furry woman too, would pass him, only to drop the glass and convulse. The young man immediately made his way over, picking the woman up and placing her on the table, motioning the bartender over to get a good look at her. "Hey, you alright?" Joshua would ask [member="Lyellvi Ra-Avora"] with obvious concern. He didn't know what had caused the convulsing, but he hoped he could help.

The crackling would continue, even beyond the point [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] set her down upon the table and ordered the nearby bartender to look at her. Unfortunately she didn't seem too keen on getting help, her reply far from hostile however she was holding a single finger up, trying to gesture out a 'one moment please' whilst feeling herself over. Her paws landed at her belt, opening one of the satchels and pulling out a small circular device (an imagecaster) before tossing it onto the table, her convulsing ended as she would pull herself up, gasping and panting as her body seemed a little singed at the edges. Thankfully nothing too serious, but the smoke rising from her was a little bit concerning. The device itself looked to still be shorting out, clearly having either come into contact with something that overloaded it or having simply been faulty, it's systems looking to have been in operation before it started going crazy.

The bartender seemed to be nice enough to get her a free drink of water, that was certainly a relief, and she gulped that one down without even pausing - almost forgetting to swallow before it was all in there! It left her cheeks bulging for a moment, then all flooded down the gate, relieving her and giving her time to catch her breath. Looking around at the people that had gathered, she finally raised a fist and assured all of them.

"Sorry...slight mechanical malfunction."

With that, she waited for things to quiet down before she looked at Joshua, giving him a firm nod "Thank you. That was a major inconvenience, almost fried myself alive again. Didn't even think that equipment was faulty, seemed all fine last I checked it..." She trailed off , almost as if she'd made some sort of bitter implication. Sliding that out of her mind, she looked back and offered a frank smile. "I suppose I owe my hero a drink...hopefully that didn't fry every credit out of me or damaged my brain to the point where I can't remember the names." Playful as that was, she honestly didn't know the names of half the local drinks anyway. The language always confused her and the texture was sometimes a little on the soft side. She was curious to try gungan cuisine but she had a feeling that would be a little on the...moist side. Besides, blondie over here didn't look like a 'seafood' person.

She seemed able to tell them to give her a moment, and Joshua would oblige her, curious as to what in the world had happened. He watched then, as she would right herself using an imagecaster. Her convulsing ended there, as if the machine had been the cause. He would motion for the bartender to fan the smoke away so it didn't spread through the cantina, though the Jedi Master was still obviously quite concerned.

Finally, things calmed down. She seemed to be alright, and his heavier, heightened breathing relaxed when he saw that the woman was doing better. "How in the world did you manage to fry yourself with your equipment?" The young man would ask, tilting his head when she mentioned it. He chuckled at her next response, but shook his head.

"No, no. Don't worry. I didn't do anything" Josh said. "I just hope you're doing alright" The Jedi would add, though he would pull up a seat at his table and motion for her to sit down and drink with him if she wished.

Oh the embarassment. First time visiting a cantina on Naboo and she almost shocks herself to death and burns the place down, it was a rather humiliating experience but one had to suck it up when it came to such things...especially when there was a lot at stake.After sliding down onto the seat he offered her, she seemed to run a hand through the fur on her scalp, sliding it over and stroking her left ear, still hearing a wild buzzing echoing through them. Not to mention it felt like her whiskers were still sparking away, yikes. After a moment to recover from her ordeal, she would shut her eyes, wanting to banish the light for a few moments at least whilst relaxing.

"It's called a malfunction, happens sometimes. Not everyone can afford perfectly made tech, sometimes I have to go with shortcuts - less then stellar quality but the prices are affordable. The only downside is that you occasionally find equipment which does not agree with another kind." She took a glance at the imagecaster, surprisingly giving a diagnosis. "Ironically it seems it had a negative reaction with the positronic network field of my comm link, probably bumped into something that turned one of them on too close to the other, feedback occurred and the result was a momentary disruptive spark and - boom, the entire thing went into a computational overload...I goofed up." She murmred, taking a hold of her drink and taking a long gulp of it, wetting her throat as her ears flicked briefly "MMh, Still, I'll live. I have you and these people to thank for that. You really have a knack for acting fast, I have to admit."

Admirable, indeed, even if part of her wished the whole incident never really occurred. Still, it was a good sign that the locals were the well-meaning sorts, it had been a long, long time since she was able to find those, so being around them was a little bit of a breather for her. Once she finished half of her glass, she raised her fingers, her claws suddenly extending through them and allowing her to scratch at her cheek. "Lyellvi. I am thankful. May I have the honor?"

He didn't see it as embarrassing for her, of course. On the contrary, he was simply concerned for her health. I mean, it wasn't often that people just wandered into a cantina and then nearly shocked themselves to death on their equipment! The whole bar had gone silent when all the crap had gone down, but now, once the shock of all of it had worn off and it was obvious that the girl was okay, everyone was back to their cheery selves. It was a very calm, but vibrant setting for a cantina. Joshua didn't see too much of it.

Joshua would listen as she'd explain what happened, and he couldn't help but chuckle a bit. "This is why I don't carry a whole lot of tech around. I don't get fried to death when it malfunctions" He would joke cheekily. "I've been lucky enough to never lose body parts, so I'm 100% grade A DragonsFlame and there's no metal parts of me" He would crack. He shock his head when she thanked him. "It looks like it was all you. All we did was make sure you were alright" The young man would protest.

He would finish half his glass, and extend his hand to shake hers if she wished. "Joshua, a pleasure to meet you Lyellvi. A beautiful name for a beautiful woman" He would tease, playfully shooting her a grin.

[member="Lyellvi Ra-Avora"]

Drag...Drag...honz...flaaaa-yum. What a name... Pronouncing some of these odd names was, unfortunately, still a chore for her. Many humans seemed to have quite a radically different naming pattern then her own people had, then again he was likely to have at least a little bit of trouble getting hers right, right? "Josh...ua." Now this part sounded far, far easier to say, something she would be thankful for, as now she could at least refer to his name without sounding like a complete moron in the process. Seeming more then a little relieved, she would reach out to his hand. This was a gesture she'd learned quite quickly. Upon taking it, she retracted her claws, not wanting to end up ripping a chunk out of him, before giving it a firm shake. The Selonian had quite a bit of strength behind her, considering she was about 2meters of pure survival and condensed energy. She released his hand in time, giving him a sweet little smile and raising her glass in a toast to him, before taking a little sip.

"Joshua...beautiful , am I? Heh, I admit that is a first, it's been a long time since someone ever described me as that. Never happened back home and it certainly was odd when it happened off-world." She seemed a little bit anxious about that, musing a little as she adjusted her jacket, sliding it off her shoulders and draping it around the chair. She figured it was at least a bit more polite to do so, after all she wanted to seem at ease. Then again, it did leave her in an undershirt, but then again she went around her home world naked for years...have to respect other people's taboos. "As a woman who has to carry her tech around at all times - it being her job - Joshua, I have to say you're quite lucky to be as...handsome as you are." She guessed there was no harm in returning the compliment. This was flirting, right? That thing most people did. Good social decorum. "I apologize for how clunky that was..." Then again, she couldn't tell a lie. "We aren't really used to having those compliments from males. Most of the males I have met off-world have been my business clients and most of the ones back home were there to breed with the Queen and be very quiet...It was odd having one of you talk to me let alone...um..." she paused, giving the closest approximation to a bashful grin, cheeks bulging, brows raised, sharp teeth evident. "It's a very charming thing, isn't it?"

Unfortunately, that was the name he was given, couldn't really change it. Well, he probably could if he went through the right legal channels. He'd considered changing his name to "Joshua Dragonan" but his friends, or well, what friends he had left, didn't think the name fit, so DragonsFlame it stayed. "You can just call me Josh, for short. Everyone else does" Josh would respond to her attempts to pronounce his name with a laugh. He would shake her hands, noting how quickly she had retracted her claws beforehand. That was courteous at least, ripping the skin off someone you just met wasn't really the best first impression. His grip was firm, strong. A warrior's grip. Hers was no slouch either though.

He would grin cheekily in response when she questioned his flirt. It was a normal, joking thing for him of course. It was a good way to get off on the right foot if done right. Lighthearted, joking, not taking things too seriously. It was nice, really. He didn't question her suddenly starting to strip, he assumed it was just too hot in here, Naboo's heat did that after all. Even he wasn't wearing Jedi robes himself. Then he started to laugh when she would compliment him right back. Though she apologized for her flirt back and explained some of her customs. He would nod, understanding. He had seen many an odd custom in his travels. This wasn't too bad, of course. So they were kind of like bees, with the males just being the breeding grounds for the queen.

"Well, I apologize if my flirtings inconvenienced you" He would apologize politely. "I can stop if you like, of course" The young man would offer with a teasing smile. "It wasn't like I was going to lick you or anything... Unless you asked" The blonde would joke, chuckling.

It was a little embarassing to have her attempt laughed at, but she actually began to laugh with him. She could only imagine how talking about her own people's names would be equally confusing, some of them were downright impossible to pronounce without the right mouth structure. She took note of his strength, a warrior's grip. Good, that was one thing they shared in common, for she certainly had not abandoned her roots either. Nor her blade, which she'd actually reluctantly left aside since, well, they weren't too pleased letting in a gigantic bladed weapon into their establishment, which was understandable. Still, his words did elicit a strange look from her, tilting her head aside "Oh, no, please, don't! I'm not with my people anymore, I should embrace all the rights being with other species brings me. You are showing me the ropes after all, you understand that, yes?" tapped her chin, revealing a grin of mischeif that almost seemed to rival his own, a clear amount of mirth blazing forth.

"After all, you spend most of your life watching one very pudgy female get all of the males...to put it broadly - now I get some for myself." She said with all the conviction of a young teen out on a guy hunt. She leaned forward, teasing him for his choice of words by showing her own tongue off "Trust me, it would not be as strange as mine. Some people say our tongues make them shiver, but they're wonderful for a quick clean. Besides, I prefer kisses myself. You would not want to lick my fur, trust me...I work in hot conditions, I'm usually covered in mechanical excrament..." She had to find a better word for it "And I rarely get the opportunity to change out of my one set of clothing." Yeah, that was the bummer.

"Well, for now at least. I came to Naboo to capitalize on my opportunity to purchase new things ,I am a free female now and I have the rights to purchase my own things. Quite a fantastic place, this planet..It also - uh " Flirt, flirt, right! "Produces...stunning males!" Did he count as stunning? Humans came in many shapes and sizes. He was the yellowest she'd seen yet!

He didn't mention how difficult to pronounce her name was. He was actually hoping he could avoid saying it. How did you pronounce it anyway. Lye-elle-vee? He had no clue, he just hoped his accent wouldn't get in the way. She seemed alright with the flirting though, it seemed, though he wondered what she was doing so far away from her people if they were so unaccustomed to their traditions that they didn't seem to understand most of them, not even close. He'd have to ask when he had time. Though he couldn't help but start laughing when she instructed him, or, well, flat out told him that he was showing her the ropes. "I wouldn't know about showing you the ropes, but I suppose I can try" The Jedi Master would tease, playfully responding to her tapping her chin by tapping it with his finger, tipping her up a bit with the one finger by the chin so she could look at him. A traditional, playful flirt that he'd used a little more often as of late. Her mischievous grin only lightened his spirits. This would certainly be interesting.

"Looks like you've been suffering from a little jealousy" The young man would tease with an amused grin. "I'm sure you'll find yourself in luck eventually, with your charms. Just give it time" He would continue to tease, chuckling. When she stuck her tongue out, he'd reply by sticking his own out, just playing and teasing bit by bit. "Kisses are nice and all, but a lip lick or two is always fun" He would remark, grinning and shooting her a playful wink. "Don't think I'm one for licking fur though. Not really my thing" He would admit with a casual shrug.

He laughed again when she mentioned the "stunning males" she had seen. "Well, at least you're living the life up. Not everyone is that lucky" Joshua would joke.

This had gotten rather interesting, doncha say?

[member="Lyellvi Ra-Avora"]

"Jealousy, yes...?" Lyellvi would murmur, quite charmed by his tapping of her chin, he was playing with it in all of the right ways. Almost as if she were mimicing him, she would do the same to him, before she would attempt to lean over and reciprocate things...by planting the very thing he just suggested! Out from her lips flicked her tongue - flat and smallish as usual, flicking him over his lips with a quick gesture before she would lean back upon her seat, giving him a proud and wily smile "I don't believe I have to wait for my luck, in my opinion I have been quite lucky today! I have caught a magnificent piece of...prey...and I certainly think you are worth keeping. You have quite the handsome fuzz around your face, not quite fur...but close. I think it's quite adorable." Now she was just treating him like a child! Wiping away her wily smile, she would nod her head slowly. "Don't think I try working my charms very often, Jo...Josh. I try to keep them to myself, I mean I am trying to live it up as you say but - uh - too much of that can get in my way. I have my goals, I have my visions."

She pat herself on the chest, proudly announcing "In time I hope to put my knowledge of technology to it's fullest use...help others with it, perhaps become a little stronger. And work on my glaive skills. It is odd, is it not? To train both the body and the mind? I think it's quite balancing, it makes the body quite..." She raise her arms for a moment, playfully showing herself off to him with little twists of her back to let him have every angle "...tight, don't you think?" OH, my now, DID she really say she had no clue what she was doing when it came to flirting?

Hoho, let me tell you, brother...she really might have, because amidst her showing off her body, she twists her back the wrong way and with a little pop, she recoils in pain. Ow. Wrong turn. Silly.

[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"]

By the expression on her face, he had a feeling she was quite enjoying the attention. Although imagine his surprise when she not only mimicked him, but licked his lips as well! He raised an eyebrow for a moment, obviously not expecting that sudden licking affection. Well, she had certainly turned up the heat in a hurry! After he got over the original surprise, he'd respond with a laugh. "Well then! You're certainly the wily one, I'll give you that!" The Jedi Master would tease right back at her. "I don't know what you mean by prey, but do at least try to get to know me before you take me home, young lady" He would crack with a cheeky grin. He was honestly surprised, she had gone from 0 to 11, from not knowing much about their customs and just having near killed herself with her equipment, to insinuating she'd want him for keeps and licking him! All in the span of a couple of minutes! "And what kind of goals would you be interested in?" The blonde would remark, sipping his drink before planting his elbows onto the table and resting his chin on his hands.

"No, no. I getcha. Training your body and mind. I grew up doing it with my job" He would explain. This was true, of course. Being a Jedi meant being both physically and mentally proficient. They were taught this from a very young age and trained pretty much every single day. He smirked when she would start showing herself off, now she was just teasing him. "Very tight, and very nice. A pity that fur licking isn't my thing and it'd be dangerous anyway" He would snark toward her with another grin. She wanted to play that game? He could play the game very well.

Though when she twisted the wrong way, he was concerned for a moment, tilting his head. He was about to speak,but waited for her to reaffirm her condition.

Wily one? Was that a compliment to her prowess? Huh. Maybe it really was like hunting, that certainly would make this a lot more like a sport. Did people treat this like a sport? She'd heard someone describe it as 'trying to bag a prize womp-rat', so she was curious as to how seriously people took it. It certainly passed her as some sort of odd social ritual or 'game' people played. Some took it as seriously as can be whilst others saved it as some sort of liberating form of recreation. Species and culture seemed to have everything to do with it. Get to know him? Oh! It was a request! Yes, yes, she could do this. Still grinning away, she would bat a lid to him, yeah that was the right gesture! "I can certainly try, but there IS no telling where that would lead. A charming male such as yourself is likely to have plenty of good functions..." Damn it, Lyellvi, stop talking about them as if they were objects. "...Well, that is to say talents. As for my goals, well..." she scritched at the table before her, trying not to seem a little too agitated. "Simply put? I wish to adapt to life outside the Den and become a contributing member of Galactic society." Oh, yeah, go for the boring answer. "And...become a really badass scrapper." Aim high. "I know my way around technology, especially something with complex internal components. Modifying it and repairing it tends to be my specialty, so, well...there is always hope that I can harness that into a useful skill somewhere."

Then it clicked, she forgot to mention! "Oh...and I am quite skilled with a blade. One of the best warriors you will find that also happens to know how to change an isolinear circuit board. And some say I have...magical powers." She wriggled her fingers at him, trying to make it sound mystifying. "Sometimes I can see things...that are about to happen!" Sure, that would certainly impress him, yes? Well, she was growing tense, likely the main cause of her tight back. "Ahh...sorry about that. Well, um, if that certainly is the problem, I am certain there are far more things to lick other then fur." Ha! That , that was a good one, right? She had to at least pray she was giving some witty wordplay here. "Still, to keep yourself so fit and...wily. You must have quite the 'job', hmm?"

[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"]

This had certainly become a game of back and forth, the Jedi Master thought to himself. The sudden turn to flirting and how intense it'd become was surprising, but he took it in stride. It was a road that he had traveled before, though never this quickly after someone had nearly gotten electrocuted to death by their own equipment. Still, it was interesting, he'd continue to play the game, see how it turned out. Though he would raise an amused eyebrow when she brought up his... Functions. "Functions, eh?" The young man would tease, chuckling at the sentiment as he would briskly tip a finger up and daintily swish a strand of golden blonde hair from his face that was covering one of his eyes. "And what functions would you be talking about, my dear?" He teased, with a playful smile as he stared into her eyes, his chin still rested against his hands almost as if he were on an interesting date.

Talents, she said. She'd corrected herself, said talents. That only made him laugh harder. "Sweetheart, if you wanted to find out how talented I was, you could have said so" Joshua would joke with a cheeky grin starting to spread across his lips, a playful expression on his face. He listened as she talked about her goals with renewed interest, nodding along until there was a break in her speech. So she was someone who dealt with mechanics and wanted to be... What was it, a "Really badass scrapper"? Interesting.

"Technology's never been my thing" He would admit. "Though I'm trying. I'm still a horrible arsed pilot, but I've been trying to teach myself how to assemble a droid from scratch. I have this HK unit back home that I built from simple parts, no instruction manuals, no help, I spent hours with trial and error installing and building everything by myself. The best way to learn is via experience, no? Its a fun experience, I can say that, albeit it can be infuriating when things go wrong" The Jedi Master would admit. "But there's always people looking for tech experts. I'm sure it won't be long before you find a job in the galaxy, my dear. Count on it"

He chuckled when she talked of being skilled with a blade, and having magical powers too? How quaint. At one point, Joshua had been considered one of the greatest lightsaber wielders in the current day of the Jedi Order. He was one of their top fighters and knew his way around a blade quite well. Though her talk of seeing visions... How interesting. He could sense untapped potential in her, in the Force... But he wasn't sure if he should reveal himself just yet. He liked being just Josh here in the bar, after all. So he would pretend the magic tricks and premonitions were new and interesting, and chuckled. "That certainly sounds interesting. You'll have to show me the magic stuff sometime" He chirped friendily.

Though it wasn't long before it turned to flirt play once again. He chuckled again. "Oh, I'm sure there is" He teased, leaning in for a moment and sticking his tongue out at her playfully before retracting it and leaning back again. He was back in a playful teasing mood, it seems. When she bought up his work, he smirked. "Had quite the job. I do... The odd job here and there now. I used to serve the Republic" He would reveal. It wasn't a lie, of course. He just wasn't telling everything. "Used to be a hell of a fighter. But war does things to you. It was hard thinking about the families you destroyed, y'know?"

[member="Lyellvi Ra-Avora"]

Well, it was a conversation! Clearly the entire focus was to make a back-and-forth! Still, the Selonian was genuinely invested in the conversation, taking her time to do the rare bit of opening up and chatter away with someone whilst also trying something completely new out. To him, perhaps, it was odd or maybe even sudden to have someone be flirting away, but to her it was like trying out a new delicacy, something she had never done before attempted for the very first time in her life. It was an odd social function which, as she'd realized visiting various places like this, was a necessary part of life beyond. And, considering she came from a very conformist society, it was almost second-nature for her to want to adapt to this new concept and do it like everyone else. Of course, however, he brought up the functions thing...which was going to have to lead to this lovingly awkward gem. "Functions..well, reproduction mostly. Look at it from my perspective, for most of my life...the only males I've seen about? Well, let's just say your life would mostly consist of being behind guards and mating with a very fertile and very , very big female for the rest of your life. Nothing else to it - although it isn't absolute. Some males have attempted to secure rights for their gender in the past, it's always had a bit of a skeptical look..." With that pause, she gave a sheepish grin "Of course, females like myself? We wouldn't get the opportunity to even know that pleasure. We aren't fertile...so we really have no reason to. The love we know is more of a love of the community." Well, basically fishing out sexual frustration, wonderful way of making a friend.

"Well, I'll have to look upon your talents the hard way, now, won't I?" she quipped, crossing her legs as she leaned forward. "Honestly, technology was never my thing either...well, until someone helped me get into it. Once you start working with it, you'll start warming up to it until it's almost second nature! You can figure out how to work a device without even having used it before. But - uh - can't say I've ever flown anything..." HK unit? Well, that was a little suspect but...well, whatever floated his boat. "Well, at least you are learning! That is what is most important after all, isn't it? Hopefully I will be able to look upon this new droid of yours...maybe give you some pointers? I built a small astromech droid a while ago...heh, my first one didn't...exist...for very long."

He was chucking again. She couldn't tell if he was mocking her or if he was simply trying to be in good humour. She was a little touchy when referring to her 'magical powers', especially because, well, she didn't quite get them herself. "Heh, I would hate to show it to you. Mostly because that means I would be trying to kill you. But the best way I can try is...well, throw something at me sometime. Or..." She'd pause, reaching for a nearby utensil. A knife, sharp, could easily cut into her. With a good hold on it's handle, she tossed it up into the air and allowed it to begin falling towards her head. Unless stopped, she'd shut her eyes, and with a quick flex of her arm, she managed to reach out and intercept the knife before it hit the side of her shoulder.

"It doesn't work all the time but, well...calling it magic just sounds strange, doesn't it? It's really just an unexplained...thing. " With a bit of a pause, she slid the knife back against the table. Relaxing a little, she watched him stick his tongue out at her. Was he trying to lick the air? "Oh...you used to serve in the Republic, did you? I used to serve as a Warrior back home, so I certainly know what it's like to be a hell of a fighter. However...I certainly can say I know how you feel." Perhaps she wouldn't have to go into that one...to try and dull the edge of that thought, she slid a little closer and leaned towards him. Invading personal space seemed to do wonders.

This back and forth just got more and more interesting. They seemed to constantly rotate between conversation and casual flirting. The dynamic was... Intriguing, to say the least. She was an interesting one, a wily one. He enjoyed their game thus far. There existed no reason not to let it continue. He was having fun with it, after all. Sure, the flirting was sudden. They had just met, after all! And she'd just recovered from damn near killing herself. But she seemed to be enjoying herself, so why stop what seems to be enjoyable and fun, right? And as far as he knew, it was all in good fun. Though if it resulted in anything else... Well, that's the Force's decision, is it not?

He listened carefully as she brought up the male and female roles with her people and raised an eyebrow. "That's.... Interesting" He remarked, blinking. "So the one fertile member of your species gets all bulked up and the males are kept under heavy guard then put in a room to rustle her jimmies while the rest of you stand aside, sexually frustrated and infertile? That probably gets rather.. Lonely, doesn't it?" Josh would ask curiously. "Admittedly its a shame only one of you is fertile after all. You never get to see the wonders of having a real family" He spoke somberly, frowning for a moment, starting to feel sorry for her.

"Granted... I guess I can only say its wonders from what I've heard of. I didn't have a family for very long either" He would admit. "Only a few years. But I can still count my blessings that I did, at least for a short period of time, right?" He spoke. He was blunt and honest, even if he knew that the topic might possibly upset her. Even speaking of things like her possible sexual frustration in his eyes might be stepping over the line, but he preferred to be honest at all times if he could. There was no point in lying to her or sugarcoating it, after all. What was the point, anyway? It was better to just get it all out there instead of hiding behind a mask.

He laughed when she brought up looking at his talents the hard way. "If this keeps up, I wouldn't blame you one bit if you just plain dragged me to your ship and kept me" The warrior would joke cheekily. "And yeah, I see that look in your eye. Building an HK unit probably sounds weird, doesn't it? I just kind of figured that since they were old as shizz, they'd be easier to make. Boy, was I wrong. They're more complicated then the work I do with my astromech droid. But I already started the work sooooo... Well, I'm too stubborn to just give up on it. My HK's working. At least, somewhat working. He holds up on his own, but his speech chip is acting weirdly, his circuits spark at times, and sometimes he just randomly shuts down. His behavioral systems aren't done well either. He's like a hyperactive trigger happy kid with tourettes syndrome. I'll fix him eventually, of course. Its just a matter of learning how via trial and error. People have offered to fix him, but the thing is I want to do it. I mean, I'll take help in figuring it out, of course. I'm always open to pointers. But I still want to do the work myself and say it was my work. And say that it was an experience that improved me" Joshua would explain. "I'd love any pointers you could give me" He would add.

He wasn't mocking her, of course. Just letting her have her fun with her magical powers. He had a feeling of what it was, and her little tests told him that it was exactly what he thought it was. But he'd pretend for now, and clap. "Oh! Interesting! I'd love if you could show me more sometime, perhaps in private where we won't scare people" Joshua would offer with a chuckle. It'd be the best place to show that he was capable of the same without alarming people, after all.

Actually, he was teasing licking her, not the air, but he was sure she'd figure it out in time. "Yeah. I was a fighter before, for the Republic. I generally dealt with swords. Blasters were never my thing" He would reveal. "We'll have to spar sometime" Josh would challenge, noting she was sliding a little closer. Not that he minded, of course, and he'd stick his tongue out at her again playfully.

Wow. Could he have put their society in an even more negative light? Sexually frustrated!? What humdrum! They were clearly very ,very liberated. That said, in all seriousness, she did seem a little taken aback when he pointed that little number out, so she couldn't help but comment on it, albeit defensively. She was still very much a patriot! "We certainly are NOT frustrated, thank you very much. Many of us have other things to worry about. And for your information." Well, now she was really getting worked up. She slammed her paw down upon the table, enough to make quite a sizable bang considering her size.

"We may not be able to reproduce with a single mate and recieve offspring as your kind do, but you have no right to say that we do not know what a real family is. Do you know what our family is? Everyone. Everyone around us. The Den? That is our family. We are all brothers and sisters - most of us quite literally! All of us have experiance taking care of the young just as you would take care of your younger siblings or take care of your newborn children! We worry for our family as you would if they were in danger. If one of us dies, we do not mourn them as a fallen ally we mourn them as a member of our own family. To us, your definition of a family is the odd one. Many of us see it as limiting and yet spoilt. So, no, Joshua, I am not sad nor do I need any form of pity. Because I know a family far larger then many of these people know as a township." With that little tyrade, one could almost imagine her going completely red. Thankfully, she calmed down, her whiskers drooping as she would dip her head.

"I apologize for that outburst, we consider judgements to be...very tricky amongst us. On our planet, such things are very serious offences, almost as bad as lying...which is a capital offence." That one, admittedly, was an extremity...but it was law. "So..." Well, she had to find a new toic fast. "You say you knew the love of a family...for a short while. Why? Did yours die?" Now this was an oddly common theme. How often has she heard of someone losing their family? All that told her is that the galaxy is a very dangerous place for a family man. "Personally I never pegged you for a family man during this conversation, but I've long since learned that we do not exactly have a definition of what a family 'man' is. So you would probably be my first." Of course, she left it at that. No use trying to force him to speak about it, it was a very private subject. No doubt, by the sounds of it ,also a very painful one. She did not want to rush things.

Though, he seemed to almost cheer her up from her upset state by talking about building an HK unit. "An assassin droid? Now I certainly did not picture you as being the sort to build those! You must need a lot of protection...or you have very dangerous tastes. Either way, that is quite bold of you. I actually managed to convert an old HK-47 unit into an engineering droid, I tend to use it whenever I am handling dangerous equipment. The sort that can short out and kill me very quickly or release dangerous radiation. Better the droid then me, I say...it can last longer." Taking a moment to run her claws through the thick patch of fur over her scalp, almost as if she was combing her hair, she would continue "Personally I can give you a few parts to get you going, though if you're using an HK-50 unit you might need to be aware there are some backwards compatibility issues with the communication systems. Just don't blame me if it starts screaming in bothan. Mine does that all the time." Now there was an odd sight if any. Though she admitted, it did help give her a primer on bothan!

Of course, she could still guess he was teasing her with those licks of his. And that he was still at it. It seemed she was occasionally moving back before he had the chance, seemingly foreseeing his attempted licks. Though after a moment, she seemed to huff. Frustrated and still a little angry, she attempted to lean over towards him and intercept his lick with her own, giving him an intense stare.
"I know a thing or two about swords. Perhaps we can leave here and go spar together." With a long, awkward pause and a raised chin, she waited for all of five seconds before saying.

"...These are my bedroom eyes. I am unaware of how I look like a bedroom but I have been told this is the appropriate look to give after delivering that line. Are we reproducing yet?"

Granted, the last thing that Josh had tried to do was insult or downplay her race. Portray them in a negative light, or anything of the sort. It was just an issue that Josh had where he was one thing - and that was just plain downright bluntly honest. He couldn't lie, similar to her, though not in the same fashion. While a lie wasn't a capital punishment in his culture, he just didn't like lying. And so he didn't, not unless he really had to. He prided himself on his honesty, as did friends that could handle it. He didn't hold back. Sadly, it seemed that Lye had not realized this just yet. He listened to her tirade with patient and understanding eyes, and when she finished, he took a deep breath.

"I must apologize as well for my words. Their intent was not ill, Lye, I promise" He spoke, using the new nickname he'd already affectionately dubbed her with. Lye for short instead of Lyellvi. "I have a similar issue, wherein I cannot lie. Well.. I can. But I just don't want to" He would reveal. "What use is to lie to someone's face, even if it's what they want to hear, right? When you could just be truthful and honest, and accept the consequences. You're doing them no favors by lying, and backstabbing them with false words. Why be dishonest, when you can be the one that people can trust, right? I would rather an enemy that would tell me the truth to my face, then a friend who would tell me a lie and stab me in the back" Josh would add. "As for your race... I'm just calling it as I see it. If you are happy with how your culture is, and how you are... Then that's good for you. I'm happy for you. I'm just calling things as I see them, from my honest to the Force point of view" Josh would add.

His mood became somber when she brought up his family, and he stared down at the table with a frown on his face. ".... Yeah. I lost them to an explosion when I was very young. I was brought up within the Republic, didn't get to grow up with my family. Just the people I worked with" Josh would reveal. More or less, while he hadn't said it, he'd grown up as a Jedi. That was all he had ever known. And it was all he would ever know, most likely. He smirked a bit when she called him a "family man". "I'm not really a family man" Josh would add. "I mean... I'd love to be. A husband and a father... To a wife and children. It's the dream, you know? But... With my luck, that dream will likely never come to fruition" He spoke somberly, giving a shrug. He'd accepted his dumb luck by now. "The people I love, the people I get close to... I just get hurt. Perhaps I'm just better off alone"

With the topic change, he chuckled. "I honestly just bought the chassis cheap, didn't really care what kind of droid he was. I built him so I could learn, not so I could use him to assassinate people. He's not skilled enough to defend me, not that I need defending" Josh would reveal. He chuckled at her story, but nodded. "I'd be happy to have your help in pointers regardless. I'll take what experience I can get. But I still want to build my droid alone. I need to learn, you know? But as long as I'm learning, it doesn't matter how I learn it. Even if that means a few pointers and advice here and there" He would add. "But keeping him with me to help in combat isn't a bad idea... Perhaps when he's better... Erm... Assembled. I'll have to bring you to my place sometime, we can look at him there. I don't keep him on my ship, just in case he malfunctions and attacks the controls or the engines" Joshua would add.

He would raise an amused eyebrow when she met his tongue-out motion with a lick right on his own tongue. He let out a laugh in response. "My my... You really are a wily one, once again" Josh would tease, retorting with a little lean in and a little lick across Lye's lips as a bit of revenge of his own. And not just a little lick either, he moved his tongue all along the lips, just getting every little detail. He was teasing her to the highest degree, letting her feel his wet tongue for an extended period of time. And thus, the flirts had gone to a bit of a high level, despite him not meaning them to. Though the bedroom eyes remark caught him off guard, he just laughed. "If you'd like to leave here and go spar together, let's do it then" He said as he would pay for his drinks. "Perhaps we can try my ship? Or yours, if you wish. Or better, we could try my place, it's not too far from here, we can rent a shuttle to it" Josh would offer.

This had gotten quite interesting. Interesting indeed.
