Private Life Day Shopping

Even Coruscant was getting colder.

With her mouth and nose tucked into her coat, and her hands in her pockets, Valery stood at the start of a busy Coruscant shopping street. She was going to meet with Briana Sal-Soren Briana Sal-Soren today for a fun day of shopping, and while she was looking forward to it, she hoped her former student would arrive soon. It was nice and warm inside the various shops, after all, and maybe they could get a hot drink somewhere along the way, too.

First, though, they needed to get some gifts. Some for friends, and others for family. Valery wanted her little ones to have an amazing Life day, and a Life Day tree with tons of gifts underneath was the perfect way to do it. In addition, they were going to get some new clothes — Briana was meeting Aiden's parents, so she needed to look good, and Valery was going on her annual trip to Eshan with Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble .

That meant something cute, and something spicy was needed.

"Hnngh..." Valery grumbled, until her senses picked up on someone familiar.

Briana didn't get many opportunities to indulge in one of her favorite and cherished pastimes, especially with the company that she normally kept these days. Most of her friends, and especially Aiden, were adverse to the joys of retail therapy, often treating the outings like she was exacting some form of medieval punishment on them.

So, when the opportunity arose to dive back into the world of consumerism with a willing partner in crime, Briana seized it with both hands. Valery, unlike the others, seemingly understood that thrill of finding that perfect piece, the satisfaction of a successful bargain hunt, and the sheer joy of spending a day lost while perusing the labyrinthine-like aisles of numerous stores — and with both Life Day fast approaching and each woman having other necessities to account for, they'd no doubt be making todays expedition a long one.

Moving in with Aiden had been a significant milestone — but there was one that was even more daunting than the two of them cohabitating, one that had been put off until rather recently — meeting his parents. She needed to find an outfit that was more classy than her casual wear, but more approachable and down to earth than the ballgowns littering her wardrobe. Something that would hopefully impress Aiden's parents while keeping to her personal style, and ideally divert attention from her family's recent controversies and the cut-throat reputation her Sal-Soren relatives had earned on Corellia.

For the first time in recent memory, Briana felt a twinge of anxiety.

Valery, on the other hand, had an exciting annual trip marked on her calendar, one that called for a wardrobe update to suit the location and the occasion, a task Briana was all too thrilled to undertake. Her late father's store would be the ideal spot to find what they needed, a location they could drop by during their gift-gathering journey.

With a thoughtful hum and skip in her step as she checked the chrono on her wrist, Briana hurried along the path, pulling her jacket just a little tighter around herself to block out the chilly Coruscanti air as she wove in and out of the congested walkways until finally spotting Valery huddled in the distance. With an exuberant leap, she B-lined to her old Master, squealing with joy as she embraced her in a brief, spontaneous hug. "Val!" she stepped back, a broad, gleaming white smile lighting up her face. "I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long. Ready to go?"

So. Terribly. Cold.

Valery was grumbling to herself, while she looked around for signs of Briana, but she didn't quite spot the woman. Her senses weren't really on alert either, so she was making things harder on herself, and allowed the other woman to sneak up on her. From the corners of her eyes, she spotted Briana as soon as she squealed, and in an instant, Valery brightened up. She spread her arms, stepped forward and returned the hug with a sparkle in her eyes.

"Hey Bri!" Valery said with a warm smile. "You're looking good, though isn't it a bit chilly for you?" Valery suddenly felt a little weird, having so many layers on. But she could take off her coat in the stores, and underneath it, she was wearing a more elegant black dress. Perfect for a shopping day like this.

"I'm ready to go. We have a lot of things to get, so let's do it." She grinned, wrapped an arm around Briana's shoulder, and gently nudged her along into the shopping street.

"Where do we start? Gifts for the kids and friends? Or straight to the clothing stores?" Their need for special outfits, both cute and spicy, was going to definitely take the most amount of time. Briana and Valery were both extremely picky and specific about what they liked and disliked, so it needed proper attention. Gifts for people, in comparison, would be easy — she knew exactly what she was buying people this year already.
