Light Absorbing Cell, and Blackwing Crystal

I'm not sure what effects it'd have on a steel blade, but it wouldn't affect a lightsaber in any detrimental way beyond (maybe) making the blade invisible. Sabers work by containing plasma in a magnetic sheath or forcefield so there's no reason the light they emit disappearing would render them useless.

Also, not sure if troll...

It would be a double-edged sword, metaphorically speaking, as a lightsaber addition. Both you and your enemy would be unable to see the blade, though I suppose you could be equipped with a method of seeing UV light to see it.

UV light goggles seemed to be a bit hard to come by, but not impossible...even then, I mean you should know where your blade is pointed to begin with right?
When you're engaged in a duel of acrobatics utilizing Ataru or making very precise attacks with Makashi, or simply throwing your saber around with Juyo, it helps to visibly see the lightsaber than hope you know that the tip of that blade isn't going to cut your arm off.

And you'd be surprised by how panicky the human mind gets when it can't see and you've been trained to handle blades, knives, and so on for years.

That makes a lot of sense. Even then, in the long run, you wouldn't even need to use a lightsaber, just turn on the cells, and watch the person swing blindly at you. But then I assume the person, if force sensitive, would be able to sense you.

It would have zero effect on any material, metallic or plasma. This device when activated bends light in a personal radius around the item. Similar to a personal energy shield's radius of effect.

As this item only affects the perception of vision, learn to Blind-Fight or wear specialized Wide-Spectrum Goggles. Also, since the radius of this effect is unspecified, it is easily exploitable. Either by you or your opponent.

Would give a solid 3/10. :)

I use Light-Bending Cloaks myself. Makes you Predator from the Movies without trapping you in a sphere of darkness. Works great with less side-effects. :D

Of course. If you don't want to do the Restricted Item: Personal Cloaking Field dev thread? You can always just go for Photoreactive Fibers which simply change color to match their surroundings. Much easier.

Nah. A genius uses a Personal Cloaking Field, w/ Force Invisibility, w/ Mask Force Signature, w/ Mental Domination of anybody who attempts to perceive them.

That's like X4 Invisibility!

Now do all that whilst flying a Stealth-X, w/ a Stygium Cloaking Field, w/ Thermal Ion Shroud, whilst cruising through The Maw? ...And you're so invisible that your IC posts will start to disappear.

That's like x44 invisibility! Blarg!? :D :p

Hey, you want to be invisible. We can make you invisible. It's what the Factory was built for. :D :p

Happy posting Sin!
