Strengths:
- In a world of ugly weapons, the LBC bucks the trend by blending form and function into a sleek, stylish package that not only looks good, but feels good to use.
- Blistering rate of fire (1000 rounds per minute) makes it an ideal close quarters defense weapon.
- Integrated heat sink around barrel not only keeps the weapon cool, the reclaimed thermal energy is shunted back into the power cell, allowing for more shots in between reloads.
- Extremely easy to reload on the fly. Both the gas canister and power cell can be replaced in a matter of moments.
- Lack of stock reduces long ranged accuracy.
- Relatively weak individual bolts, not meant for burning through armor.
- Designed for civilian use, not military.
- Needs to be reloaded frequently, as the power cell will be depleted in a matter of seconds on full auto.
Enter the Light Blaster Carbine.
The LBC was designed from the ground up to be a simple weapon that's easy to use and provides superior firepower. Though the individual bolts are relatively weak, it fires a whole lot of them in a short span of time, making it an ideal choice for, say, a freighter captain who wants to repel pirates without punching holes in their hull. It comes with a laser sight for easy aim. Just put the dot on the target and start spraying.
Reloading is a breeze. Both the power cell and blaster gas cartridges can be ejected with the flick of a switch, and new ones slot in with gratifying ease. Because the bolts are less powerful, the blaster gas cartridge lasts for longer than normal, and the advanced heat exchanger that wraps around the barrel not only keeps the weapon cool, it reclaims the thermal energy and shunts it back into the power cell, extending its life. That said, it can still burn through its ammo capacity in a matter of seconds on full auto.
The LBC is not a military spec weapon. It's not designed to penetrate armor, or see service on a battlefield. Though the average soldier would certainly find it entertaining, they would likely find the lack of stopping power to be frustrating.
