Aela Talith
The Righteous
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Since her semi-retirement from active life in the New Jedi Order, Aela has made it her duty to learn as much as possible about everything regarding the lightside and it's more exotic uses.
Through these studies Aela learned of the path of many Jedi before her, that being their fall. Though many did never intended for it to occur, it became more and more obvious to Aela as she read on that hundreds, if not thousands of Jedi had fallen to the Darkside in the pursuit of something as innocent as knowledge. She found that countless of her peers had simply lost themselves in secrets and temptations that were too subtle to ever notice.
Fearing this, and knowing that she never wanted such a thing to happen to her, Aela began to work on a countermeasure.
Though the talent for the creation of artifacts lay with her brother, Aela did have one of his, and her fathers creations to reverse engineer. To her, the alchemalized blood ink on her back in the form of a Tattoo would make a perfect deterrent to the darkside, at least once altered a bit.
With this idea set firmly in her mind Aela began to experiment.
Visiting various healers, herbalist, and consulting with other Jedi Masters Aela was finally able to concoct something that was suitable for her goal.
The first batch of Light Ink was crafted in much the same way that her father and brother had created the BloodTrail Ink, albeit with rituals that have more in common with force imbument of blades than anything else. The Ink, after it went through the imbument process, was rendered a bright, almost searing blue and remained so even once applied to the darkest of fabrics or skin colors.
The ink was first tested on various fabrics, brought close to captured Sith artifacts to witness responses. When this went positively further studies were down with lab-grown tissue until eventually it was deemed safe for organic use.
Aela Talith was the first to get one of these Tattoos, placing it on her upper left thigh in a depiction of a Borlesian Wild Flower, found only deep in the island rainforests of her homeworld.
The Tattoos, when properly applied, act as an early warning system for darksiders as well as a 'stop-gap' for a Jedi or Neutral force user falling to the darkside. Though they do not outright prevent a fall, it is accurate to call them a 'kick in the other direction'. Intending on Jolting the user back to their true nature.

- Warning: When properly Tattooed into place the Light Ink, due to its nature, acts as a sort of 'warning' that a darksider is near. When approached by someone that utilizes the darkside the Force Imbued properties of the ink start to tickle, burn, or itch(Varies with user), allowing someone with the tattoo to detect nearby Sith and Dark Jedi. This effect does not give someones the direction of the darksider, nor their relative strength, just that they are nearby. The Closer the person comes the more the Tattoo itches, burns, or tickles. The Tattoo can begin to detect darksiders at a range of up to a few meters, reacting more strongly to those stronger in the force itself. The tattoo cannot detect darksiders who have cloaked themselves in the force unless they touch the tattoo itself(see weaknesses).
- Last Bastion: The true purpose of the Light Ink is to act as a sort of 'last bastion' against a fall to the darkside. The ink of the Tattoo essentially acts as a dose of force light, and when someone with a Light Ink Tattoo begins to fall, the Light Ink inside of their skin reacts. As the user falls and utilizes the darkside, the Light Ink kicks into gear and essentially 'burns' the darkside from their system. This instant kick back is incredibly painful and preventative, essentially attempting to force the user to stop their path and change course. The ink can of course be overcome, but in most instances it will at least give most users pause in their current path.
- Darkside: The Darkside is of course the ultimate opposition of The Light Ink and is ultimately what will destroy it. The Darkside is what causes the ink to trigger and thus is fully capable of destroying it, albeit the reaction would be dangerous. A darksider touching one of these Tattoos will result in burns for both the darksider and the wearer of the Tattoo itself.
- One Use: The Ink can only be utilized once. That means when the wearer falls to the darkside and the Ink attempts to prevent this fall, it can only kick into gear once. The Ink 'burns' away in it's attempt to stop the fall, and afterwards breaks up into the body and removes itself.
- Beacon: Of course, acting as a sort of brand for the light, a Tattoo composed of this ink acts as a sort of beacon of the Light. Though this effect is not noticeable over the course of milles or even meters, if a force user were to stand within a few feet of someone carrying this ink, they would definitely notice it.
