Designed by Sasori to be a standard shield unit they can attach to their ships and vehicles. Even for bases, as a unit it is fairly basics to a point. Reinforced military grade shielding that is built into it and it creates a series of multilayered shields designed to protect from a number of elements instead of just single threats with several systems. It is instead six shield types multi layered and reinforced for military ship use to be stronger using the basic energy. This creates a higher power draw that strains the parts of the generators and the shield projectors that are built for the ships. This increases the wear and tear making it more expensive. With Sasori's backing it is easy to handle and develop more, fixing it and getting everything serviced in their shops. With the upgrades that Sasori has developed and set to use on more personal and stronger models, much like their hyperdrives there is the chance to make personal upgrades to the ships so that they will reach a better and more appealing customer base.
Ray shield work to prevent energy from getting through and one one of the more basic protective methods that the ship has. A solid layer to have on a ship and normal protection that goes into a deflector shield. Particle shielding protects from kinetic impact and debris that can become dangerous at high speeds. A common problem with it is projectiles fires like mass drivers require that it deactivates to allow the ship to fire off shots. Relativistic shielding is designed and made to protect when going to hyperspace from temporal anomalies that might become a danger to the ship. Rad-dampening shielding protects from radiation of space and weapons, going onto planets that have seen some war to keep the occupants protected. Atmospheric-friction shielding is a simple protect for getting in and out of a planet. With most Saotome ships designed to enter atmosphere of a planet. Ion shielding is one of the more overlooked and designed to enter the atmosphere of several planets where ionic storms rip across the skies damaging ships.
The inner workings of the system itself is simple, losing many of the redundant systems that have been installed on other models. Making it instead something that is incompatable with ships not made by the company or its smaller ones like Saotome, Phenex and Advancements. The methods to adapt it for ships outside of the company increases the cost and upkeep of the systems significantly. Which means it is easy for Sasori to produce, being one of the large companies in the galaxy but it is not cheap to buy on its own for your own ship. It doesn't make anyone stronger then the other or make a starfighter able to handle the attack of a capital ship and survive but the shields are reinforced and stronger based on the size of the ship and what it is able to put out energy wise. An honorable class fighter that uses and was built using isotope five for instance would have a stronger shield then a standard x-wing using a regular power system.
A capital ships shielding would scale and be as good with the stronger reactors it can use. With the six shields layered on it the final parts and what they are able to set up in their ships. The units are upgradable and modular (requiring new submission) and can function with the shielding reinforcement units that have been crafted to provide back up as long as the projectors are not damaged. The work that has been getting worked on, following and using some of the information that they were able to see with the expensive, mass produced military grade double redundant shield generators. Something that impressive from a company smaller then Sasori easily makes what they can do with half the systems built into it lacking the redundancies, the adaptability for other ships. The jedi company sets up more of its works so they can have it. With this base model setting the stage for what would become newer and stronger models leading up to a heavier version of the shields while this is just the light version.
With the creation of the heavy model of shielding the lighter model fell out of use in production but there were still plenty of ships and vehicles that used it. As an impressive means to better handle it they were overhauled and redesigned to be a lighter to use model with much the same levels of protection. Improving on the power source that would go with it and having the micropoles for layering the shielding able to repair themselves over time. It improves the strength of the system as well as giving it a better and more robust need for others to be abel to use. Now Light Plot shielding and Heavy Plot shielding can be used in accordance to the situation as a multi layer shielding system with back up systems.
