Description: These gauntlets are nothing more than a light shield with a specially made pair of gloves designed to resist and stand up to combat with a lightsaber. The Gauntlets themselves are intensely tightly woven rings of phrik, with a phrik alloy plate covering the back of the hand. This plate is capable of batting away lightsaber strikes without much effect, making them capable of easily blocking lightsabers for several seconds at a time.
The inside of the gloves(palm and such) is made of pure phrik rings. This means that while wearing the gauntlet it is entirely possible to “grab” a lightsaber and hold it for several seconds at a time. With Soliael's method of close quarters combat this is incredibly important, rendering him capable of fighting Jedi and Sith. The gauntlets are also strong enough to stop pretty much any blade, having been worked with the force to give them more strength and allow them to guard against even the toughest of blades.
In addition, the knuckle guards of the gauntlets allow Solaeil to strike harder and with more focused force, making his punch far more harmful due to the more focused impact of the phrik points.
In truth the gauntlets are nothing more than a fancy extension of the light shield they are built around. They are designed to allow Soliael to fight another force user without the use of a lightsaber since his skills fall far more into martial arts rather then blade work.
