- Force-Imbued
- Force-Imbued. The bracelet had a similar enhancement as with Jal Shey Meditation Gloves, reinforcing the wearer's ability to meditate or use Center of Being.
- Holocaster. Can project media stored from the embedded memory crystal, including photographs, clips, or holovids.
- Light-Shield. Protects against a variety of energy-based attacks, including lightsabers and blasters. Also works against kinetic projectiles, but is less efficient.
- Battery Life. Its more of a Hold-Out Light-Shield. When operating as a light-shield, the miniaturized power cell has perhaps three or so uses in it before its drained. Really, its just a proof-of-concept piece.
- No protection against elemental or airborne toxins.
- EMP or Ion attacks shuts the party down.
- Force Imbuement requires that the user be in an area where the Force is present. Areas of Force suppression, such as near void stones, negate the Force Imbued properties.
This was a concept that Valery Noble planted in Sor-Jan's head during the Annual Bazaar on Eshan.
Now, she'd just been looking for a bracelet with a holoprojector in it. Which Sor-Jan made, but why stop there? The Corellian engineer's imagination certainly wasn't going to stop there. No, Sor-Jan took that barebones concept and tried to come up with every which way he could overcomplicate the design just to challenge his own abilities to actually pull it off.
To start with, this thing is made with b'sant. That's the transparisteel equivalent to stained glass. While the metallic composition might make it easier to work with than glass, to produce anything that's actually pretty takes a lot of work. But that was the whole point. Next, was integrating a miniaturized holoprojector into the links of the bracelet, so that it wouldn't be obtrusive. Along with that came the power core, which occupies the tab-like end of the bracelet, along with the clasp.
From there, Sor-Jan reverse-engineered both a holoprojector and a light-shield, breaking them down to a common engineering foundation and then asking himself if it wasn't possible for a holoprojector to serve as the field emitter for a light-shield. This killed the transit time from Eshan to Coruscant so he could deliver the bracelet that started this whole thing off at Coruscant.
Come to find out, projecting images or a deflector shield is really only a difference of frequency and attenuation. With a few variables in the energy coefficient of the emitter matrix, the Anzat arrived at a design that seemed to work.
Maybe not as one might desire for use against the Sith Inquisition, but as a proof-of-concept that popped into his head in casual conversation at a trade show? Not bad at all.
