Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist

The reports had come in... governments were well dissolving... dozens it looked like and groups across the galaxy vanished under their weight... it was strange as the grandmaster sat there watching it. Since the attack on Krant by sith forces seeking to enter Quiphoth and do something she was not sure but the Precepts were not something that you disturbed... the ones down there being especially nasty she had seen. THat was part of the threat, the ancilla had contacted her and relayed what had happened and it was bigger then the sith Darth Ophidia Darth Ophidia might have known. It was an emergence point outside the galaxy and it was where they were needed, the conversation with the head of the assembly wouldn't be easy but she had set it up and was resolved... it helped that they had rebuilt the Silver Rest now instead of having to be there on Commenor.

"We are connected to the assembly grandmaster." The voice of the command biot was there and brought more information up. The current head of the assembly was well someone she didn't know and they didn't do much but they were considered highly political and with the galactic alliance surviving and being able to keep themselves going well the silver jedi were not needed in its current form. "Grandmaster." THe voice came from the hardlight projection and the head of the assembly was there looking at her. "Councilor." She said it but looked there and remained carefully stoic. "I am hoping you have seen the latest news, much of the eastern governments and some in the north have dissolved and it is time." There was a look and anger flashed. "Time for what?" The jedi grandmaster was looking at him.

"IT is time for us to move on, the governments we have worked to protect are able to stand on their own and it doesn't look good the silver jedi being here. Many try to push that we control your people and don't just advise." She said it and held a hand up. "The concord will be able to run itself or dissolve back into its own systems. We have given the chance and time for things to be set up and it is to you. We have to go elsewhere and handle something." She gave a look and there was little argument to it the plan was in place and she didn't know how many other jedi would remain but they had established temples and outposts for this purpose. SHe focused on the rest of the meeting and closed the communication... they could make whatever statement they wanted for it as the grandmaster was going to her meditation chamber.

The Ancilla was well their ultimate trump card in the galaxy. A jedi stronghold built by her and a safezone in many ways as it was built around the well overlooking the galaxy. If she was going to do something different, try and bring the silver jedi into a new era as the largest governments were going to push throughout the galaxy... so they would have something to do and if they returned to a place of expanding across the galaxy it would only serve when they had rebuilt the order. "It is time." The biot would make sure that the information would go out and a few would have already been informed as the jedi master looked at the statues in the meditation chamber of well... those who came before. Iella and her husband Syn, Aika, Rasu and Marek, Sochi, Thurion, Coci, Sorel, Joshua, Suravi, Joza. The leadership who brought a lot to all of them.

She focused the force itself to enclose the rest in the shielding that they had developed and the high plane of heaven was sitting high above them. The massive section of it open to house the rest as it was and the jedi grandmaster held her hands up and out feeling the force throughout the rest. The wall themselves pulsed with the power, the spirit of the rest there open to helping her and everything that had been done within it made so a powerful enough jedi could do such improvements. The high plane of heaven closing and its massive dome opening as it revealed all of the stars and started on the longer jump that they would need to take to reach the Ancilla. The jedi who had gathered and come with her call for it were here and some showed surprise as the jedi master stood there for a moment in the office and swayed.

"Oh harder then I expected." She said it as the biots stood there and her personal Shadex which caught her and held her up for a moment as the jedi grandmaster was moving towards the center fo the rest and the massive tree that was there. The temple guard that Caltin had trained were around in their gleaming silvery white armor, her heralds and guardians as well as a number of others. This was a chance at a new beginning and well it would be interesting but some knew they planned to go somewhere else... they might be surprised to find no jedi within the concord governments now before she was heading over to look at a few of the other padawans. The Ashla's light there leading the ship through hyperspace as they jumped and used the sub-hyperspace drive to be visible across the galaxy traveling like a shooting star across the skies... showmenship was important.

THey would need time to arrive but the grandmaster had more to show. From the ancilla they would be able to use the Krampus and their advanced engines to get around... better still they had access to the the celestial forge a lightside nexus in the well created from the stars themselves and able to forge some of the strongest equipment that they could use. Her Ta-Ree were standing with her as she walked through the halls of the rest and breathed in the force that emanated throughout. THey were working on more things here like the materia to upgrade the wide assortment of jedi robes that they had for each of the ranks and classes of jedi. A means to better organize if needed and now that she would have the time to focus upon it they would be able to do much more and improve the jedi's educational endeavors.

In this day and age, the end of one government was usually a tumultuous affair. Usually the result of a great war or civil strife. However, in the instance of the Concord, it was a quiet conclusion without much fanfare.

The threat of the Sith, Bryn'adul, and Imperials was gone while the rising Galactic Alliance appeared rock steady as it steadily expanded in all quadrants. This was a good time to end the experiment of the Concord as the Galactic East had entered an unprecedented period of peace. The Silver Jedi could now safely recede from the realm of politics and governance. Individual planets and systems were now free to enjoy their independence, or join new franchises.

As for the SJO itself, many chose to follow Grandmaster Ike for a new mission, aboard the titanic world ship Ancilla. However, others like Jyoti opted to remain on the former grounds the Silver Rest complex, at least for a time until the decommissioning of their headquarters was complete.

Currently, she sat in a private garden she had constructed outside of the immediate confines of the Rest, idly observing lines of shuttles coming to and fro to the space station that now appeared like a new star. How she wished to find her own star to chart a new path forward.

Dark Clouds, Silver Lining

9q2Hq0b.png

The vibrant, lush jungles of Kashyyyk brought back so many memories. Memories which, oddly, seemed so close yet so incredibly distant... As if they'd been lived by someone else, but passed through genetic memory as vividly as-if she, herself, had lived them. Deep within her psyche, a distant voice whispered, almost too soft to hear; recalling bright mornings full of laughter & joy, hours spent training beneath the immense canopy of trees, breathing in the fresh air. The Living Force stretched in all directions - intertwined with the flora & fauna in a great, all-encompassing web. This was Kashyyyk as Drystan Marakos Drystan Marakos remembered it.

But Drystan was dead. Or so Ivory told herself.

So, why had she been called to this jungle?

Coruscant was enough. Coruscant - the Capital of the Galaxy - with it's vast ecosystems, sprawling landscape, billions of people, and infinite complexity reminded the once-Jedi of the home she'd had here... Looking out across the verdant sprawl, Ivory Stroud realized how she'd simply traded one jungle for another.

Years had passed since she'd turned away from a life of Justice & Compassion. Once a Jedi Master, she'd turned away from her oaths - disappearing into the shadows & fading into obscurity. The very same obscurity she'd enjoyed as a Silver Shadow, oddly enough... but all the deeper & darker. The Galactic Underworld had become her home... and in those dark depths, she'd found a Family. Her Family. But try as she might to ignore the call, something had brought her back. Perhaps she wanted to see for herself the retirement of the Concord. Perhaps it was to satisfy some deep, inner need to see some final piece of her spirit depart. Or perhaps it was some small, nagging thorn of guilt. She couldn't be sure... but, perhaps there was someone here, in this living jungle so far removed from the pulsing heart of the Galaxy, who could help her understand.

HlLr6G6.png

Ivory Stroud looked nothing like the Jedi she'd once been. Whatever illusory powers she'd once used to conceal her true appearance had been replaced with the most expensive, seamless surgery one could hope to buy. Gone was the blonde hair & blue eyes of the Jedi - replaced by a head of luxurious black hair and violet eyes which had grown piercing & cold over the years. She still possessed the same athletic figure, but her demeanor had long-since shifted to mimic that of a lithe & sensual predator; masterfully stalking the Galaxy's darkest depths, and commanding the respect & loyalty of some of its most skilled & dangerous criminals. She radiated charm, poise, and an air of subtle confidence - the type borne from a life lived on the edge.

Garbed entirely in black from head to toe, she looked every bit the part of a business-woman: a black dress which accentuated her figure & framed a myriad of tattoos. Upon her feet, a pair of laced black leather boots... and atop her head, she wore the truest symbol of her station as the Boss of The Family: a wide-brimmed black fedora which, when her head dipped, would conceal her face & eyes from view. She wore only two pieces of jewelry; a silver ring upon the pinkie of her left hand, and a single rough-hewn violet stone on a silver chain which rested above her bosom & glowed with it's own internal fire.

A Kyber Crystal, and obviously one that was important to her.

She found the quiet garden by her own means - knowing, in the depths of her gut, who she would find residing there.

Jyoti Nooran Jyoti Nooran would hear a voice from the distant past as it reached out to her, preceding her approach:

"I guess the rumors are true. The Galaxy is changing... and the Concord, with it."

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist

The High Plane of heaven continued towards it, once it cleared the system with a vertical hyperspace jump into the well the area outside of the galaxy where the ancilla had been built... a massive dyson sphere around the well and harnessing the stars within to focus aand connect to the force itself. Making a lightside forge for them that they would be able to develop some of the strongest force technologies and it was what was within the silver rest as the grandmaster stood in the main chamber looking at the star charts and the Netherworld of Unbeing connected them still to Kashyyyk as she stepped through the gateway and could see where she was able to go.. the pathway to Ossus, Ahch-To, the rest, the Columbarium, Tython and a few other temples that were invaluable to the jedi themselves.

"Interesting view." She said it and looked at Jyoti Nooran Jyoti Nooran as the trees formed the gateway and offered clasped hands behind her back. Another was here and the grandmaster raised an eyebrow but she didn't need to worry about who was here... the rest was going home along with many of the jedi and there was even more when she looked at the old grandmaster well one of them... her statue was in the rest same as others. She looked at the garden though and there was much more. "I will have to get back but the pathways have been created to let one enter the rest from here or any of a dozen temples across the galaxy so we are never far away if needed or others want to come and join us." She said it while walking and flexed her hands for a moment looking at the area left over as it was filling with water into a new lake.

"The silver wings of the rest will keep the land fertile... overly so and we worked with the wookiees to have hydro stations that would be within the lake for back up power generation, fisheries with species we cultivate and were able to adapt so they would have extra food if needed and be able to raise where they want to. THe hydrostatic shielding can keep them from being invasive across the planet." She said it and there was a great deal they still had to do and they would... working with the system of Nibelungen they had millions of jedi who could help and go from. The Takama-Ga-Har Academy their transport and evacuation ship was only one of the things that would serve among the jedi.. they had other things of interest across the galaxy some that few others had.

She did looked at Jyoti though and offered her hand with a Silver Light between her fingers. "A gift though should you need us... something we developed for the traveling jedi to be able to use."

That voice...

It had been many years since the pair had even interacted, but Jyoti immediately recognized Drystan. None the less, she was jolted from her stupor. One of the last faces she had expected to see this day of all days.

She certainly recognized the voice, but looking upon Drystan's form, she may has well been a stranger.

Gone was the hopeful blonde Jedi sleuth, and in her place was a hard looking raven haired mafioso. Ivory Stroud. It was telling that her former protegee had appeared in this form. Roles had been reversed and now Drystan was reduced to another hat in her back pocket.

"Some things certainly have changed..." Jyoti agreed, studying Drystan with her silver eyes. "Though a few things remain the same, like a certain family still slinking around in the shadows."

Her tone dripped with scorn at the mention of the Family, making it clear that she did not approve of Drystan's abandonment of her Jedi vows for a life of crime. Ashla knows that Jyoti could have been more present to steer Drystan back on the right path, but she was an adult with full faculties and ultimately the choice was hers.

Jyoti wanted to say more, but their conversation was momentarily interrupted by the appearance of Grandmaster Ike. This roused the Echani from her bench, then offering a bow of respect.

Matsu proceeded to inform her of the provisions left for the remaining Silver Jedi, Rangers, and Wookies. Jyoti was grateful, as the residents wouldn't have to start back at square one with reconstruction. She was then presented with an elaborate pendant of Sasori origin, a device that would allow her to keep in continuous contact with the other Silver Jedi as they departed the planet.

"Thank you, Grandmaster," Jyoti replied, staying formal around Drystan. "I have a little something for you, too."

From the side of the bench, she picked up a large potted plant. It was a small tree that resembled a Wroshyr tree, but its bark was ashen white and leaves silvery.

"A product of one of my side projects on Kashyyyk. With some trial and error I was able to revive some tissue of the White Wroshyr. Specimens will be distributed among the major Wookie settlements another token of good will, though I thought it was fitting that the Ancilla carried its own. The Silver Jedi's time on Kashyyyk was an important chapter in our history."

"Also, while I may not join your party directly, I have embedded AI and droids that should prove valuable to your new mission. I'll still be happy for provide assistance remotely."

Ivory had approached, fingers linked in-front of her - an easy, relaxed, open posture. She met Jyoti Nooran Jyoti Nooran 's eyes, silently allowing her former Master's scorn to pass by. The sudden arrival of Matsu Ike Matsu Ike , Grandmaster of the Silver Jedi - whom Ivory recognized from a lifetime past - was met with a respectfully subtle bow on her part. Her presence, it seemed, didn't matter much to the Jedi... which suited her fine.

As the two shared a brief exchange of words & gifts, the Donna occupied herself by glancing around the beautiful & vibrant garden, drawing in a deep breath & filling her lungs with fresh, clean oxygen. This place reminded her of Epica, with its luscious greenery & humid warmth. A few meters away, a marble water fountain bubbled tranquilly, and it was to this Ivory was drawn - smoothing her dress as she sat upon the edge and casually reached down into the waters, drifting her fingers through the cool fluid. The designs painted onto her nails, which resembled tiny black branches set upon a white background, shimmered within the light reflecting through the pool.

With a moment's concentration, Ivory triggered the augmentation imbedded within her fingernails, causing the sharpened tips to extend outward for a moment as she traced whorls through the water. She would wait her turn, patiently, until the two Jedi Masters had finished conversing.

She looked at the tree being given and offered a smile for it. One arm holding it as she offered a bow of her head. "It will be treasured, there will be even more... the concord is disolved and well compared to others we might have left it in a better place but it won't be perfect it is why what we found at Krant is so dangerous and troubling. Thaat was just one area where corruption had bled and torn a rift. So I am rededicating you could say the silvers who remain to a larger purpose." She said it and there was the other woman whom she wasn't ignoring but giving a chance so she could come and join them. "We haave the means to send some teams to the lowest levels of worlds where older things lived and we know from older jedi records that there are things cast out to area of space and the galaxies. We'll monitor for those."

As the two Jedi Masters conversed a few yards away, Ivory finally stood from her seat - flicking her fingertips to clean them & surreptitiously retracting the claws extending from her fingertips. With a polite smile on her face, she joined the two women - standing beside Jyoti, allowing the two of them to re-acclimatize to each-other's presence. It had been many long years since the two had last co-existed in the same space... the last time being, of course, their final meeting. From that day onward, Drystan had vanished from the Galaxy, never to be seen again...

In her place, and over the course of many years, Ivory had reemerged.

"We haave the means to send some teams to the lowest levels of worlds where older things lived and we know from older jedi records that there are things cast out to area of space and the galaxies. We'll monitor for those."

"I am well aware," the classily-dressed business-woman said, addressing Matsu Ike Matsu Ike , "of the Silver Jedi & their intelligence networks. Allow me to introduce myself, Grandmaster... my name is Ivory Stroud. I possess considerable resources, amongst the darker corners of the Galaxy & its denizens... I'd be happy to discuss how we might combine our resources in a mutually beneficial arrangement. Helping those less fortunate, or in-need, is a trait I believe we share. There is much darkness in the Galaxy still."

A business pitch, albiet a respectful one. She had grown bold, and never allowed an opportunity to pass her by. It was this one trait that had allowed her Organization to increase in scope & size. The boughs of the Black Oak had grown strong, and its roots had dug deeply.

She already assumed the Silver Jedi (or at least Jyoti Nooran Jyoti Nooran , herself), had kept tabs on her over the years. The pitch would also serve to gauge where Jyoti stood on the matter; if The Family had an enemy within the Concord or not.

"As far as endings go, it happened on a good note. The Concord didn't fall because of some war or calamity, its purpose was finally met. Now the Silver Jedi are free to transition into new roles in keeping with our vows."

Jyoti nodded in acknowledgement about the Krant incident. Sith meddling with interdimensional portals was always a disaster. More troubling, it was one part of a greater revival movement of the Sith Empire. For now, they remained on the fringes of the opposite side of the galaxy, but without intervention, they could regain their old strength. Fortunately, the Galactic Alliance and the New Jedi Order appeared rock solid against such challenges.

Her focus was mostly on Matsu, but out of the corner of her eye, she tracked Drystan's movements. She hadn't meant to shut her out, but this had been the first time she had seen her in nearly a decade, and Jyoti was at a loss of even how to even address her.

Eventually, Drystan stood up and made that clear.

She was Ivory Stroud now.

Now it was Jyoti's turn to go quiet and allow Matsu to negotiate as Grandmaster.

She listened to the woman and remained... neutral expressionless and still. The woman spoke and Jyoti knew her and wasn't worried so that helped some. "I see." She said it and remained there. "It is not often those who have departed find their way back or at least come without some intent and blame." She said it and shrugged for the moment as she moved finally. "Though resource wise the darker corners are different definitions for our conversation." She said it aand held a hand as Jyoti would likely have seen reports from Krant both incidents. "Where we are going there is likely to be less people and more things that play with them... at least that is what some of the first jedi believed... we only have a few incidents to try and form our ideas about how to face or defend against them."

A lone Amadis approached. He had been there when the Jedi order split into many, all of those many orders had come and gone in their own time, finding their own place and peace around the galaxy. Finally, it was the Silver Jedi's turn. Of course, he would be here at the end. He wouldn't miss it for the world.

Standing with a stubbled face, with more grey than color across his beard these days. Amadis had the sentimental grin of a goodbye. A piece of his heart was going with the changing of the order. Not so much an end but a new beginning for those leaving on it.

Kaskhyyyk was his home, and with his children fast growing up, times were changing again for the Jedi Master, and nobody could stop that. Elara Amadis Elara Amadis and he were still happy, Zacka and Patches still lifelong friends, the wildcards still worked in a charitable role. He'd found contentment and love here among the locals. Amadis would remain to guard the remaining temple grounds and assist the locals, watching over whatever site remained here. Kashyyyk was his home and always would be.

Taiden on the other hand would follow Matsu into eternity and back, but she would know that in a minute because he was approaching to tell her.

For now Kei waited while the others made their decisions. Hands behind his back, that same warm grin he'd had as a boy when he looked at his first temple.

"Masters."
"Friends."
"It's been an honor."

Light steps could be heard. In practiced and perfect time, four Echani marched lightly to the foot of the former temple steps and knelt in front of it. Dressed as white as you could ever hope to see, Taiden was among them, offering the deepest bow to the ground in reverent remembrance, he held it for several minutes.

"For those that came before, and those that now take our place." Silence held for a further long moment. An important time to reflect on all that they'd been through and seen after so many long years. Finally, each Echani stood again and turned to bow to the others that were here with equal reverence.

While the honorguard left, the single kethborn placed his hands together and smiled. Taiden had a small Echani shoulder pack by his side with all he needed, his scrolls, a change of clothes, and a few books for reading. "If you will have me Master Matsu, I will take one last adventure with you." He bowed again to her, and you could almost see the emotion in his eyes, breaking through that usually perfectly calm expression. His stance relaxed, and he stepped back a pace to give them all room.

Bzzzzzzzzz came the hoverchair to park somewhere nearby. Not interrupting the private moment too much, ooooh who was she kidding! Natoline… Glade, buzzed on over, Fyor droid in her hoverchair beeping hello. "You think I'd miss this!" She beamed a sad smile, popping her lips. With all the pain she'd been through, this place was always like a second family to her. At least in her stupidly oversized heart, and now another family was moving away for good.

Nato definitely had tears in her eyes! It was like losing that last part of her, and for a Kiffar girl who lived on memories, force knows she had an entire vault memory palace or three by now! Losing this piece of her was taking Kei's and Taiden's feelings magnified tenfold.

Yeah. Sucks. But, y'know, it's just love she thought to herself. Fuzzy Force Watsits.

"Soooo I brought gifts." Absolutely everyone got offered a gift, the hoverchair was chocked full of them. They were all well-made small silver lockets on an elegant silver chain, with the temple's picture carved on one side, and the silver jedi's symbol inside. While doing it she hugged just about everyone that let her, even those that didn't really know her, difficult and awkward as that was from the hover chair, you bet she'd find a way! Maybe not, maybe she just smiled, but she tried anyways when they seemed approachable.

The feeling of others was there and she could feel the man approaching one of the masters she knew which was impressive for herself. A smile on her face while she listened to Ivory and well would see what came of it. "Master Amadis, it is always good to see you." She bowed and there was a good deal. The silver rest was within the ship heading to the High Plane of the Jedi and the ancilla. They had well several places and she would have to show a few of them the new means to move using Undrjarn itself. The jedi might find it jarring or well those who knew her might just find it as the next thing as the jedi master liked to push and see where things could be improved upon. "I have some gifts you might need as well. it is called the undrjarn and it is how one gains access to the temple now... barring if they choose to fly there. We also have improved a few measures as well."

The zeltron had come, to oversee the end and well add some reports. THe Ancilla and High plane were prepared to receive the rest, and there was a chance for more adventures and missions. The silver jedi were just getting the chance to go for something larger, which a few would be able to learn. She moved to stand near the grandmaster and welcomed the newcomers as she saw Taiden Keth Taiden Keth and Glade Glade with a look on her face but the zeltron was warm and welcoming seeing the gifts from the woman and bowing her head. "Thank you." She said it while looking at the honor guard and Taiden who was renowned enough and she was much like Tychus Qel-Droma who was overseeing security and had the ships set aside for all of them to be able to use.

From afar watching the temple be packed up, the gear, belongings, and anything that needed to be moved. The travelers each chose to stay or go. It was a flurry of activity which Sera sat and looked at by her fire. Exhaling, the flame burned reassuringly by her side, giving her a sense of grounding. Her master Syn Syn was probably close. You never could tell, he was always good at appearing when you least expected it.

"Way of our force," Sera contemplated to herself, "rebirth and renewal in all things." She didn't feel sad as some of her old companions had. The amber-robed priestess felt at peace with almost all things, even if vestiges of the past haunted her on her bad days, this would not be one of them.

The fields, a few steps, maybe some outlying buildings. Not much left of the old temple now, packed up and ready to move elsewhere. Others still paid their respects to what remained, even of only doing so symbolically, she was happiest here at a distance from all of it.

Running her hand over the fire, not touching it but getting close enough to feel the warmth. Scars still lingered on her wrist, and face, ones she would not yet let go of as easily as Kashyyyk. "What now of our path," she asked herself. Her watch had ended, perhaps her force had decided it was time for her to retire peacefully. Perhaps it would reveal her next course in due time, either way, Sera would be walking a different path but hopefully not alone.

He stood there watching with the force.... Iella's vision was different, surely, but it had come to a conclusion somewhat. The Silver Jedi had changed things if even a drop in the bucket as it were and endured which was why he had remained there all of this time in some form or another. The jedi master, crossing his arms over his chest, stayed there for the moment listening to Sera and gave a nod of his head... there was always more to do, always a new direction for one to take and they would have to face the dangers. What he saw at the Temple of Omean went a long way and there was Krant and Crispor as well... both served to show the dangers the galaxy would face eventually.

"We move forward." He said it and remained near as he was one of the few jedi who traveled with Sera... there was Liber she was around on the ship but largely it was the pair of them and what good they might be able to do. His hand coming away to rest on the priestesses shoulder as he smirked. "They have a lot ahead of them, Krant wasn't long ago and what it brought to light the silvers will face spreading across the galaxy. We'll be needed to do our part." He motioned with his head and his other hand brushed the twin saber hilts on his leg. The Darkness and The Killing Frost were fixed... repaired after Crispor and a greater part of him.

Sera was here at the end and he spared time to wonder about Tempest Yore Tempest Yore and his children who were taking care of themselves... Rasu and Sochi even as the depths of Kashyyyk were open and the area the temple had been in was filling with nature from the world. The grandmaster was anything if not a showwomen... she knew how to clean up moving a massive temple into a ship high above and moving it across the galaxy.

With a wide grin he accepted the gift and nodded in thanks, "Thank you Master Matsu, we'll use this well." Amadis looked over the undrjarn, not having the first clue about how it worked, scratching his stubble. That was something he'd run by the techs before they left, so he could get the hang of it. Taiden however would feel completely at ease using the gift, and deeply bowed once more, any emotion now completely contained in the Echani.

Wildcards and Houks were moving around helping with any last additions or personal belongings, a few old veterans wanting to be part of the goodbye. Some men would probably go with the order, if they needed an extra hand, and he'd leave it up to each man to choose.

"With permission Matsu, I'll maintain a building here, for anyone coming looking," and so he could keep training his kids somewhere out of the rain! It would tell any absent Silver Jedi that might return where to find Matsu and the rest of the order. A vigil of his own making, and a final watch for the Silver Warden.

"Over there, good place for a memorial stone," Kei knew Glade would like that idea. There were many that had come before them, and many that called this place home once. There would at least be something to remember them by. The garden that Taiden had maintained from Voss would suit that role. Reminders of what and who came before, to those who knew. The Duty. Honor and Sacrifice of many, over more years than he could count.

A large Houk picked up one of the last boxes to go. He grunted and looked at it. So many boxes, and so many battles. This was the last to move. Giving another Houk a good headbutt to say hello, the two of them shared it. Seemed the right thing to do.

The large lumbering soldiers stopped by all of them and gave them a look of respect. His gigantic head gave a shaking nod up and down several times appraising them for a minute.

"All the boxes are gone. We're going now," he rumbled in a deep bass voice.

If they'd have been Houks he'd of given them all a good headbutt, but they weren't. So there wasn't much more to say. The Houks began filtering out. Some were going with the temple, and some were retiring or looking for work elsewhere. Vertigo, he was keeping his options open.

For now he had one last box to deliver, and he was going to take his time doing it.

The Ithorian's eyes were blinking calmly, its long head the picture of serenity as so often was the case with their peaceful race.

"Have to get an interview before they go right Weru!" The final sound byte had to be shared, it was her duty.

The Ithorian continued to blink at a steady pace.

"You are right. We should let them pack."

At least two more Ithorian blinks followed.

"You know just what to say," Amelia leaned back, her legs sticking out ahead of her, and watched, "going to miss you Weru. Thanks for always listening"

Her friend turned his head. Giving one final blink, "you too."

Fin for Amelia and Weru
