SPECIAL FEATURES

This weapon can go from a blaster pistol that has three settings (stun, kill, disintegrate) to a lightsaber with the flick of a switch.



STRENGTHS

Can cut through most things, however, there are certain materials that are impervious (see Weakness). It also has a blaster pistol built into the hilt that has three settings.



WEAKNESS

The lightsaber cannot cut through material that conducts energy, such as an electrostaff, Z6 riot control baton, some rare metals or simply another lightsaber. Also the effects of cortosis and water are known to short out sabers. Lastly, the short barrel blaster pistol takes some practice to be accurate.



DESCRIPTION

In Corte’s prior life, he was used to carrying a blaster pistol with him at all times. Since becoming a Padawan learner, he has had to learn the art of melee fighting. However, despite this, he wanted the ability to engage multiple targets beyond the reach of his lightsaber if/when necessary – not just by deflecting laser bolts. So, it only seemed natural that he would build a combination weapon.

For clarification, is this a lightsaber with a blaster built into the hilt or a lightsaber that can also function as a blaster? There's a subtle, but important difference we'll need to address before I can review this further.

I recommend rewordng this section here. While lightsabers possess fantastical cutting prowess, they are blocked by certain substances.

I'd also include these lightsaber resistant materials under weaknesses. Also the effects of cortosis and water are worth mentioning as they both are known to short out sabers.
