Hey everyone. I work for Disney at Hollywood Studios (I'm in costuming) and I just wanted to share this wonderful fan event/tribute that happened this past week. A group of around 1,000 fans all met at Hollywood Studios on Saturday dressed in their best Star Wars and Singing in the Rain Disneybound outfits to pay tribute to Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds.
They met for a group photo, rode Star Tours, rode the Great Movie Ride, and at 6:30 pm, assembled in the main courtyard in from of the Star Wars stage. There, Disney got involved and offered us a special moment. A speaker lead us in a lightsaber and umbrella vigil for our Princess and her mother, serenaded with a rendition of "Singin' in the rain" mixed with Leia's tune.
Not ashamed to say I cried. I just wanted to share this moment with a community I knew would appreciate it as much as I did. Enjoy a few pictures <3
None of these were taken by me, I was too distracted to do so. They were all shared with our public event group so all credit goes to the respective photographers.
