Lightsabre design?

Well, i am a bit off from getting my self one of these but i did a bit of browsing and i'm sorta down to two designs thoughts? (going with a sabre staff with an unlocking mechanism in the centre)

I really like them both, even thought about using the second for mine. Only real piece of advice I can give is that a saber is an extension of the one that made it, an expression of their inner self. What fits your character the best.

And with glass as hard as the steel your hilt is made out of, don't worry about having decorative windows.

[member="Kyra Moonwood"], Both are equally good. Both are well done might I add. Choose one that best fits your character as [member="Domino"] said. I myself use one after the design of the Jedi Temple guards.

(FYI the second lightsaber is a design for Satele Shan's Lightsaber in the SWTOR trailers [Great-Granddaughter of Bastala Shan] Who later becomes Grandmaster of the Jedi Order)

I've lost so many sabers during duels over the years that I've lost count. Disarms, javelin throws, cortosis shorts, underwater leaks, or the ever famous 'it blows up in your hand' energy trick that I personally hate. It's crazy. So now I only use synthetic crystals, generic casing, and carry at least two spares on me. Because I know I'm going to break or lose a few. :D :p

Whatever you choose? Bring a back up. *wink*

[member="Jay Scott Clark"] Well if you mean"Why not both?" when you say to bring a backup, I sorta don't see why so much work would go into a backup sabre anyways :/
[member="Domino"] [member="Xander Carrick"] Suiting my character.... suiting my character... i have absolutely no idea how to do that here. :|

[member="Kyra Moonwood"], if you are going to do both, just make one of them a simple lightsaber (backup) and the other one your main that you use. he is saying just be prepared for anything with your battles ahead of you.

As for what your character wants, we mean what is her style? is she open, loving, caring, or hidden, reclusive and rather blunt and alone. By determining that, you can find a "Vibe" or "aura" of your character and choose which one you think matches her personality. Step into her shoes and make a decision based on what she would want. Not what you would want as a writer. If you need more help, you can PM me if you would like.

well... although the idea of an open crystal chamber is quite appealing.. I don't really think it fits the style. I will probs pick the second one, it has a more intricate design and oh if only the handles on the first one was smoother. Well, thanks for your thoughts and idea guys ^_^ much appreciated.
