The intent for such a large capacity was to present all factors of Jin culture to the rest of the galaxy.[/SIZE]

I would put both here. you need both ray and particle shielding if your going to fly through space. Dust and particles would damage the ship without particle shielding and ray shielding keeps out heat and spacial effects like radiation and such, Plus you need both to protect you from energy weapons and projectile weapons.
