Living and Learning

Aevan woke up under the thoughtful gaze of Ar'ekk. Sitting up in bed, she gave him a morning smile and climbed out. The night had been wonderful and she looked forward to further exploration. Walking over to him, she would give him a good morning kiss and looked out the window with him for a moment. Pulling away with a touch of reluctance, she started getting dressed for the day.

Looking at him as she moved, she wondered if last night was going to be all they had or if there would be more. Seriously hoping for more, but not entirely expecting it, she went downstairs to get a start cooking breakfast for them.

Not one word was spoke, but she was fine with that. It wasn't tense or stressful between them, just a companionable quite. It left each of them to their own thoughts on the previous day and the potential future..

Ar'ekk stood by the window with his eyes closed in his usual morning ritual that involved meditating. Relaxed as he could ever be, Aevan came by his side for a good morning kiss and the young Jedi returned the gesture. Words were not needed at all because actions spoke louder. This bond they formed was special and there's no way at all that could break from one moment to another, a bunch of adventures and similar situations expecting to happen in the near future should they wish to pursue more of this. A tasty smell came from downstairs that caught his attention right away, on the baid laid part of his apparel that he quickly put on to head in Aevan's direction.

"Good morning." He said with a big dorky smile on his face and without any mask to get in its way. Ar'ekk could last possibly days without so it wasn't his worry to use it that morning unless really needed.

Ar'ekk sat in the small table that was barely able to fit the two of them and watched Aevan's every movement, lost in his thoughts.

The breakfast was a simple meal and cooked quickly. Allowing him the time of solitude he needed, she did turn and look at him when he joined her downstairs with his friendly smile and good morning.

Taking out two bowls, she filled them with the warm food. Bringing them to the table, she set his in front of him with a spoon and sat down across from him with a smile. It felt odd to be in a situation like this, but she wasn't uncomfortable. It didn't look like Ar'ekk was either.

"The sun is out. Not that I mind the rain at all, but today hopefully we can accomplish what we missed out on yesterday."

She still wanted a sword or weapon of some kind and something to put into her hair that kept it out of her eyes.

Ar'ekk didn't feel hungry that morning and his general demeanor went from extremely happy to cold. The bowl handed by Aevan was left half full, they exchanges glanced as they did the last day before that morning. The weather outside was perfect as the sunrays touched down with full warmth and the general ambience was full of positive vibes.

"We should head to the market now before it gets crowded. I'm going to make some final purchases before leaving."

Coruscant continued to be on the back of his mind and wouldn't leave at all. Going back to the place he used to call home was his main priority and nothing could change that idea. It had been planned for so long that it wouldn't be worth it leaving everything behind now.

"I'll get dressed."

He walked up the stairs once again to pick up the rest of his gear and stood by the window once again, lost in his thoughts.

Aevan felt something was wrong with Ar'ekk and she wondered what it was. She watched him get up leaving only half his breakfast eaten, saying he was going to get dressed so they could go to the market to pick up what she wanted.

Lost in thought, she finished her own food, cleaned up the dishes and walked upstairs to see him standing at the window again. Tilting her head to the side and looking questioningly at his back, she walked over to him. Putting a hand on his shoulder if he allowed it and looked up at him.

"What's wrong, Ar'ekk?"

It was a simple question, but maybe the answer better kept secret.

He continued to look on the window when he felt the presence of Aevan before she touched his shoulder. Ar'ekk turned to face her and with that smile of his that seemed to assure everything was okay he replied back to her question.

"Nothing, don't worry."

His mind was clouded with painful memories in that instant yet he didn't want to make her feel bad about them, it wasn't the right time or the place. However, her presence was soothing and it's something he greatly appreciated whenever the young Jedi felt stressed about something as you could see it in his eyes.

"Let me know when we're heading out." He added as he reached for the shirt laying by the bed, his upper torso revealed many cuts and injuries from past occurances. A fighter's body, definitely.

When Aevan came into the room, Ar'ekk turned to face her and she touched his shoulder gently looking up at him. While he wore a smile, she could tell something was bothering him. Not wanting to upset him or push any buttons that might make him mad, Aevan let him go on with his charade. With a nod, she turned to finish getting herself dressed.

Having already gotten mostly dressed before eating, she only needed to put her shoes on and was ready to leave. She watched as Ar'ekk put his shirt on and covered his body. Details she had missed in the dark became visible in the day and she wanted to ask about each one and the story behind them. Smiling a little at the thought, she went downstairs.

"We can go whenever you are ready. Ar'ekk."

Not expecting to wait long, she moved to open the door and let the day in.

Ar'ekk made his way to the first floor and towards the exit not long before he grabbed his lightsaber that rested by the table where they had just recently had breakfast that morning. Once outside, the shinning rays of light hit their faces full on and the heat became almost unbearable. It wasn't a good moment to wear long sleeves that day, the young Jedi thought to himself as a reference to the attire worn in that instant by himself.

"I'll follow you." He said to his companion, making a brief hand gesture that indicated "Lead the way."

The walk along the streets of Golbah would make a decent time to have a conversation of some sorts, friendly or not. However, his mind continued to be elsewhere, remaining quiet until she broke the silence and the strange trance that had him lost.

As she expected, Ar'ekk followed her out after he picked his lightsaber hilt from the table where it was left the night before.

She was used to being in a warm climate and had the right kind of clothing. It was nicely tailored and fit well. It was in the colors of nature, similar to what she had danced in the night before.

He said he would follow her. Shutting the door as they left her place, she headed off back in the direction of the market. Having a better idea of what she wanted, she had noticed which vendor carried the couple of items.

"Did you see any of the places with weapons?"

"There's one through this small passage."

The clouding thoughts seemed to have left his mind for the time being and this allowed him to fullfill the task of now assisting Aevan on whatever she needed to purchase from the market. Its many vendors allowed any potential buyer to get anything they desired, ranging from blasters to melee weapons of their choice. Whatever she liked or was effective would suffice, if she had the proper training. He needed supplies for the eventual trip, if there was any. Medical supplies, food, anything that would be needed.

"Any spot you'd like to visit first?"

It wasn't that crowded, the market, during that morning. Shopkeepers were just putting their goods and wares on sale yet. The heat seemed to have gotten worse a few minutes after they got out of the house.

Suffocating.

Aevan made no further mention of the fact she felt something was bothering Ar'ekk earlier and what it was appeared to have passed. He wouldn't answer her before and she didn't want to kick that feeling back up. She liked him the way he was yesterday and now, not the brooding type he was at breakfast.

He had noticed some place through an ally and lead the way there. He asked if there was any place specific she wanted to visit and she shook her head at him.

"I would like a weapon of some kind and something to hold my hair out of my face."

In the past a circlet had done that, but it had gone away when she was banished. Now she missed having something to keep her hair out of her eyes.

The duo arrived to a small sized shop that offered all the things they needed for any occasion. Weapons such as blades, daggers, staffs, swords combined with armor, head pieces, gloves and many other wares would make this the perfect opportunity to make the much wanted purchases. At one side, supplies that Ar'ekk needed were also in plain sight and they took that instant to start picking out what they needed or wanted. Money wasn't an issue either.

"I'll buy all the supplies you've got in stock." And that meant medical supplies, a large field rations kit and beverages of all different sorts.

The young Jedi held a credit chip on his hand as he watched Aevan try many of the wares available to pick out from.

"Take your time on this."

While one not too familiar with weapons, Aevan knew how to dance with a few things and picked up one of the staffs the shop had. Giving it a few twirls and testing its balance, she moved on to the next. Finally the fourth one she picked up was about as balanced as she could find and did a few danced moves with it. Making sure there weren't any items or people to hit before doing them.

She did this as he picking out the supplies he needed and continued looking around at some of the other wares.

"Ar'ekk, do you think I should get something more than this?"

Walking over to him, she looked up at him as she waited to hear what he had to say.

He looked back at her after picking up a few supplies and handing them to the shopkeeper for him to pack the stuff in a bag. Certainly, it wouldn't be necessary for her to pick too many weapons since she wouldn't be facing any foes anytime soon, hopefully. Whatever she picked, apparently a staff, was a good start for a beginner.

"It's not like you're going to fight a war, Aevan. A staff is a good choice in my eyes, you should take that and probably a small concealable weapon such as a dagger." He suggested.

Ar'ekk gave Aevan an approving nod to the item she was holding in her hands. It wasn't the first time he used a staff and knew how reliable they were on any type of situation you'd find yourself into.

"A good point, but it's a starting point and then I can learn from here. Dagger you say?"

Walking over to where there were a few such items, Aevan looked for one she liked the look of. Not having any clue as to real quality or what to feel for like she did the staff, she turned to Ar'ekk and pointed to them.

"Which do you think is the best of this bunch? I'm sorry, I'm not sure what to look for here."

@Ar'ekk
