Description: Throughout the eons of time, soldiers and spacers of all alignments have sought to gain the advantage of stealth, whether by simple silent running tactics or advanced stygium cloaking devices. With the defection of Incom from the Republic, its soldiers and corporate backers realized that they had lost their own stealth technology, notably the Starry Night system. Consequently, ArmaTech Combat Systems and Lucerne Labs joined their resources to come up with their own replacement system for future stealth ships, modeling their system on the devices used in the original StealthX. ArmaTech was able to acquire several of these components through some somewhat shady dealings to make a working prototype, which Lucerne Labs then refined at their Gyndine facility. Both Lucerne Labs and ArmaTech Combat Systemsbuild and market the exact same system to their clients, though their trade names are different.

The base of the LLT-13 system is star-flecked matte black fiberplast hull plating impregnated with Reflec. Originally coated only in reflec, Lucerne Labs engineers added several laminated fiberplast layers of coated in Reflec, allowing ships to take minor damage from things like debris and micrometeorites and still maintain a relatively stealthy exterior. The next system is a gravitic modulator, which is used to counter mass-detectors, which operates in conjunction with a sensor mask to fool enemy sensors. Like the Vanish 2 sensor mask, the Black Night's works by reading incoming sensor pings, absorbing them, and retransmitting them on the other side of the hull, making it appear to a sensor scan that there is nothing but empty space there. The sensor mask does nothing to prevent visual detection.

While the LLT-13 can make a ship almost invisible to casual observation, it is not without its faults. The electronics and Reflec used in the system make it exorbitantly expensive to use on a massive scale, and the LLT-13 are almost exclusively used on small production runs of exceptional subcapital ships, especially since it is ineffective at disguising anything larger. The electronics of the system also require notable amounts of space and power, typically meaning that the user vessel will suffer in some other important department, such as weapons for starfighters or cargo space in transports. As on the StealthX and traditional sensor masks, the systems of the LLT-13 do little to prevent detection of ship by its engines or its wake.
