H I S T O R Y
Born on Nubia, the world of elegant manufacturing, Loïc Pen-Ar-Lan had come to know wealth from a young age. With both parents being successful businesspersons in their own right, the expectations on their eldest child were high. This would not be a problem, seeing as the gifted young Loïc often managed to overcome hurdles in his way, whether they be academic, physical or social.
While he joined the Silver Jedi Order in his early teens, Loïc had the good fortune of being given a young varactyl pet named Yannick before that. Yannick would grow into a powerful and majestic creature over the years. This was the friend whom the Nubian would turn to when things were not going his way and times were hard. While he did make a fair number of friends, none of them managed to form a bond which could even come close to that which existed between Loïc and Yannick.
Once part of the order, Loïc continued showing great potential but often lacked in regards to wisdom and had a hard time keeping his sharp tongue in check. Naturally, he was still capable of showing empathy and understanding towards others - but the way in which he expressed himself could sometimes do more harm than good. Still, he managed to become a Knight and has done his best to do good ever since.
While he neither lacks talent nor will, splitting his attention between the Jedi and starting up his own law firm in addition to still having trouble with speaking in a more considerate way have worked to hold Loïc back in his endeavours towards becoming a Master. -
A P P E A R A N C E
With a good posture and athletic build, Loïc often carries himself elegantly and can seem to have calculated every movement he makes in advance. Having remained active throughout his life and training arduously, the Jedi has been able to achieve a good form which balances speed and agility. Still, he is not weak or scrawny but has muscles which are better suited for prolonged efforts rather than producing powerful bursts.
He is well groomed and almost always has his brown hair in perfect order and rarely allows his beard to grow beyond a five o'clock shadow. This goes hand-in-hand with the more formal attire which he tends to dress himself in and while he does have more traditional Jedi robes, he is not seen wearing them quite as many of his peers.
Having kind blue eyes and a sharp jawline, his face can easily shift from friendly to focused and back again without any trouble. Easily staying calm in heated situations, Loïc believes himself to have a good poker face. Still, he tends to have a sympathetic look of understanding whilst conversing with people who does not want to kill him. Matching his appearance, the Jedi's voice is relatively smooth and can be perceived as rather soft, even when he finds himself in a conflict. -
S T R E N G T H S i & i W E A K N E S S E S
+Calm & Collected - Keeps his cool in stressful situations and thinks well on his feet.
+Intelligent - Has a bright mind and is well educated, both in the ways of the force and more mundane topics.
+Zealot - Firm in his beliefs and with a strong alignment to the light side, it is hard to put him off balance or sway him whilst he has an easier time remaining in tune with the living force and the light side.
+Cautious - Is careful and risk aware in most situations.
-Conservative - Has a rather traditional view of what a Jedi is and refrains from using blasters and grenades unless his hand is forced.
-Sharp tongue - His keen mind and quick wit sometimes results in social blunders where he needlessly attacks both friend and foe. Sometimes, his remarks lack sensitivity.
-Yannick - There is nothing he cares for more than his pet varactyl Yannick. Extreme measures will be taken to keep him safe.
-Attached - Once Loïc forms a deeper bond with someone, he becomes more protective of them and suffers disproportionately much when they are harmed. This may also mean that he trusts them a bit more than they deserve.
~Makashi - Is a form II practitioner.
~Slim - Has a build which provides speed, agility and reach whilst sacrificing strength and durability.
~Force generalist - Has not focused on a particular branch of force usage which means that he knows a little about everything but not everything about something. -
P R O P E R T Y
Owns a few apartments on city worlds such as Nubia, Corellia, Coruscant and Commenor and is the majority owner of the Nubia based Pen-Ar-Lan law firm. With a sleek ship designed on his home planet and a range of formal clothes, Loïc owns many things which are improving his quality of life. He also owns a lightsabre which shines in a bright green light when activated.
Loïc would never agree to claiming to own Yannick, his pet varactyl. Having raised the creature since it was a cub, he has a deep bond to it. Yannick can often be found near Loïc or on the ship.
