- Engine Systems
- Superior Stealth Systems: The Locum Pacis is outfitted with numerous advanced electronic countermeasures and stealth systems, including heat baffling, ablative plating, taozin skin, and double-sealed engines designed to recycle their exhaust signature into the Locum Pacis' life-support and weapons systems, allowing it to remain virtually invisible from scanners and even the probing arts of Force sensitive practitioners.
- Dance of Meteor Shards: The Locum Pacis' crystal halo can be manipulated for use in devastating offense as well as near impenetrable defense. The mirror-like, reflective properties of the Locum Pacis' crystals can redirect enemy fire and even create optical illusions when cleverly ployed. The ship's ability to launch these same crystals like projectiles allows the Locum Pacis to puncture and smash through conventional shields and armor. Combined with lava cannons, rock spitters, and other Force-imbued weaponry, the Locum Pacis is capable of dealing massive damage at close and medium ranges.
- Eerie Aura: The Locum Pacis trails an ominous fog, within which the undead swim through space, watching, hungry. The presence of the Jen'qazoi Mist Wraiths and the unnerving, trailing mist adds a terrifying psychological dimension to engagements with Locum Pacis. The mist obscures vision and scanners while the Wraiths act as a final line of defense, making the Locum Pacis a fearsome presence even without direct engagement.
- Crystalline Resonance: The crystals surrounding Locum Pacis resonate with the Force and can thus be used to amplify magick rituals, potentially affecting entire fleets.
- Hybrid Nature: The fusion of technology and sorcery allows the ship to function both as a conventional warship and as a ritual grounds for Force magick. This adaptability gives it options in a wide variety of combat scenarios.
- Bio-Engineered Resilience: The living materials that make up Locum Pacis allow it to "heal" over time, regenerating certain sections during or after battle, making it more durable than typical starships.
- Escape Artist: With a state-of-the-art hyperdrive system, as well as two hyperdrive adjacent engines (the Netherdrive and the Helldrive engines), the Locum Pacis is hard to pin down and almost always has an option for getting out of a tight situation.
- Force Nullification: Since the ship's crystal halo and many of its more advanced capabilities rely heavily on the Force, any kind of Force suppression or nullification could severely hamper its combat effectiveness.
- Limited Mobility: Due to its immense size and weight, especially with its stone and crystal structure(s), the Locum Pacis is less maneuverable than other warships of its size. This can leave it vulnerable to swift or coordinated attacks from multiple directions, especially if Locum Pacis is isolated from allied support.
- Ritual Reliance: The Locum Pacis's most devastating abilities are reliant on its crew of Force users. If those practitioners are targeted or incapacitated, the ship's combat power is diminished significantly. An effective boarding action could neutralize these key personnel.
- Focused Attention: Its sheer size and visual distinctiveness, especially with the mist and crystal halo, make it an obvious target.
- Close-Range Vulnerability: Although capable of devastating close-to-mid-range attacks, the Locum Pacis is less effective at longer ranges where the crystal halo and ritual effects may not reach. Its natural weaponry also requires proximity to be effective, limiting its ability to engage from a safe distance.
The Locum Pacis was designed from ancient manuscripts found in the tomb of the Sith Emperor Dathka Graush (c. 7000 BBY). Buried alongside his secrets on eternal life and the creation of undead armies, these designs were rediscovered by Darth Caedes (c. 902 ABY). The ship's construction was a massive undertaking, overseen by Elmindra Xitaar , requiring the total harvest and subsequent destruction of a Force Nexus on Korriban. Dreadlords speak of Locum Pacis as if she yet lives, the cold corpse of one of Korribani nexus repurposed in unlife to serve.
Half capital ship and half monument to the dark side, the Locum Pacis is as much a sorcerous temple as it is a weapon of war. Its most distinctive feature is a shattered halo of massive crystals which orbit the ship. These crystals, maneuvered through a combination of dedicated tractor beams, magick rituals, and active Force use, serve both as shields and weapons—capable of devastating enemy ships or creating nearly impenetrable walls for defense. Furthermore, the ship's already formidable array of traditional and exotic weaponry is further enhanced by magick, making the Locum Pacis an unpredictable and terrifying presence in any battle.
