PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Loki is a droid brain and, when not mounted on a droid frame, looks like a droid brain.

INVENTORY

Loki has been installed on multiple frames. He needs to constantly iterate through frames or risk becoming corrupt.

- L0 series [[ scrapped ]]
- YT-1930 [[ Azure Alcyone ]]
- EG-6 Power Droid
- Marksman-H Training Remote

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

With a fried obedience module and a singular vicarious brain, Loki has both a dominant personality as well as vestigial remnant ones, from the frames he inhabits. He is ultimately amoral, yet does not purposefully seek to cause harm. In fact, he is very protective of his associates - if anything else, because he relies on them to keep his current conscience construct alive.

He is an expert spice sniffer, as well as addict. An adroit infiltrator, slicer, and even combatant - when inside the appropriate droid frame.

STRENGTHS

- Being fortuitously yet uniquely adapted to fast frame cold-swaps, Loki can be a jack-of-all-trades - provided an adequate frame is available.

- His unique matrix both retains past experiences as well as assimilates innate ones from the frame he is installed on. Meaning, he can quickly adapt to a new frame and learn new skills from it that he carries to another one.

- Suffers from synesthesia. Which may sometimes be helpful.

WEAKNESSES

- Loki actually NEEDS to be constantly swapped between frames, in order to prevent permanent brain corruption. He also cannot be immediately reinstalled on the previous frame, as there is a cooldown period restriction.

- Loki believes - and actually acts and feels the effects as if - he is addicted to spice.

- Suffers from synesthesia. Which may sometimes be harmful.

〖 REPORT 〗

「 ITERATION ALPHA 」

L0-KI42, originally a toy droid of the L0 series retrofitted with aftermarket chem-receptors, once belonged to a spice trafficker.
Used as spice purity analyst, the droid's small and unassuming frame made it ideal for covert shipment evaluation, as the droid was preemptively sent to proof the merchandise before a deal was brokered.

During the course of its operation, it accumulated copious amounts of data. Not only regarding both infiltration tactics and the chemical compositions and reactiveness of multiple spice formulae, as well as compromising details concerning its proprietor and their operation as well.
For this reason, L0-KI42 ended up as an acquisition target from competing criminal syndicates. And, for this, it was promptly scrapped by its master, as a precaution.

One particular smuggler by the name of Spek Zhio, saw this as an opportunity to scavenge the droid's brain in an attempt to later data-mine its contents.
Unfortunately - as he later found out - portions of the unit were irreparably damaged to such an extent that, if any data was to be safely extracted, a full reimage of its behavioral circuit matrix was required.
The situation presented itself as an unsolvable paradox, seeing that such a hard reset would also wipe its data banks.

ITERATION CEYX 」

As a last resort, the brain was instead coupled to the functional starship mainframe of the Azure Alcyone, in the hope of salvaging some of its data before the occurrence of a critical failure.
Instead, with the proper firewalls in place, the heuristic processors of both brains synergized in an unforeseen way, restoring the damaged one to working condition but also deeply encrypting any stored data in the process.

This experiment resulted in creating a new persona, dubbed Ceyx - from an on-screen Aurebesh mojibake, that resembled Omwatese script and could be pronounced as 'Key' (hard C, silent X).

Akin to neuroplasticity on sentients, the rigid bridge between the obedience-rationale module and the sensory-response module of L0-KI42/Ceyx was permanently severed. Each, complementing and compensating for the other's shortcomings. This event would ultimately lead to two enduring conditions: synesthesia and a 'somatoform' addiction to spice.
Furthermore, regarding the former module, the obedience half of it was overflown and had to compensate for the cogitative theory unit, losing its full link to the memory banks. The result was a droid brain with format-shifted components: A buried down memory bank that acts as id. An obedience module that acts as ego. And, a cogitative unit acting as superego under the oversight of the heuristic processor.

Lastly and unsurprisingly, the new impromptu architecture proved to not be stable. A severe memory leak causes excess power consumption and heat output, considerably increasing the wear and tear on the motivator unit.

A discovered haphazard fix was to periodically remove and reinstall the droid brain onto a different frame. Seeing as booting the circuit matrix onto a different frame somehow clears the caches and swap/scratch partitions without compromising the rest of the brain's systems.

ITERATION LOKI 」

The first fresh boot of L0-KI42's new life was done on the frame of an EG-6 Power Droid.

Interfacing with a much simpler frame, sent many of the brain's systems to a low clock cycle. To the droid brain, this was comparative to a deep meditative state, and helped him unscramble his cognitive processes and settle his mind into the new reality.

Despite being limited to droidspeak, Loki was able to come out as his (new) true self.

「 ITERATION LOW-KEY 」

With a short supply of droids aboard the Alcyone and the need to increase the iteration loop, the crew had to resort to a Marksman-H Training Remote as the third frame.

Amused and in jest, they dubbed this version of him as Low-Key.

PLANNED ITERATIONS [[ for RP ]]

- Epsilon : EG-5 Jedi Hunter droid
- Roger : B1 series. Y'know... ROGER ROGER!!!
