STRENGTHS
- Mega hauler: These fuel tankers can easily haul hundreds of tons of fuel. With both internal and side hanging storage tanks, this tanker uses most of its available space far carrying fuel.
- Dangerous target: A ship this size, carrying hundreds of tons of fuel, can cause significant damage if destroyed. Which is why these vessels are under constant guard by patrol craft and escorts.
Whether traveling well used shipping lanes or making excursions into the unknown there's one thing every ship needs, fuel. Long necks were designed to fill this role by supplying immense amounts of fuel for ships of all sizes. With five extendable boom arms that can reach out to 100 meters, they can fuel multiple ships at once. Unlike most vessels of the same size, the majority of the ships inner hallways lack any type of life support. This is to keep down the chances of fires starting. The only two places with life support are the cockpit, which is attached to the crew quarters and amenities, and the hangar bay. Most of these airless halls are patrolled and maintained by droids. In the case of an emergency, fuel can be vented from damaged tanks or, in the case of outward mounted tanks, deatatched from the ship. When an extreme emergency sets in, the cockpit, where the crew spends almost all their time, can break away from the ship like a giant escape pod and propel itself clear of the vessel. Long necks can also haul gases such as Tibanna gas, doubling them as a tanker that can be used for gas mining facilities.
