Long Since Forgotten

[member="Lady Kay"]

It had been a long time since Eddak had spoken to the Queen, and a long time since the mention of CSA crossed his lips. Pzobs independence had changed, very rapidly, so he had to change all of his plans. However, it did seem that there was peace between those Eddak liked and the overlord, so he found it, or hoped to find it, appropriate to begin talks with Lady Kay once again. His advisor had gotten most of the communication done, and Eddak had no issue meeting the Queen at her home. However, on his mind, it seemed that it was stressed she could only meet at home. He didn't have all the information, but that wasn't new to him, nor was he worried entirely too much.

Eddak had used his personal funds to use a civilian transport between worlds, leaving the Treasury Funds to assist with Galderra and of course feed their overlord. This was easier than trying to determine how much local fuel would be needed for some luxury ship or even a hyperdrive-capable shuttle, along with any other costs that may accrue. Either way, it was planned for him to meet someone at the spaceport, to take him directly to where he needed to go. He only hoped it wasn't bad timing for Eddak to resurface, and pleaded that Lady Kay would be in good health.

Arriving at the bustling space port, Eddak wore a fancy uniform, a dress uniform for military. Something a mix of earthly design and Imperial Military; Tight fitting, top going to the knees. Medals of prestige below the rank badge, with tassels and buttons lining the uniform. He didn't know whether to dress in a suit or be formal to his position, either way he found it inappropriate at this time, and did the best he could. Clambering through all of the other civilians rushing off of the transport, Eddak finally made his way off as well, into the main hall, looking for the individual he was to meet.

The moment that [member="Eddak Manod"] had reached the spaceport and disembarked from the transport, he was spotted straight away by Kay's secretary Olivia. The woman was in her sixties, wore her usual black blouse and skirt, and carried a ring of keys from her belt that jingled when she walked.

"Lord Manod? I am Olivia Herra, the Lady Kay's secretary. Please come along and I'll take you to her." Her voice was stern, almost as though she was laying out a command. Perhaps in some ways, she was. Turning abruptly on her heel, she led the man through the crowd to a private landspeeder. Once inside, she took her seat. There was a bit of time for some small talk, so Olivia took advantage of that. Moreso to scope the man out. She had a tendancy to watch others like a hawk. "We haven't heard from you in some time. How are things?"

Nearly everyone had been at war. She wondered if he was among them.

Eddak came to a bright-eyed attention as he looked up, hearing 'Lord Manod,' and seeing a pretty little face. Smiling, he looked down, and then back up, to brush away his inappropriate facial expression. "Ah, greetings!" he gave a wave, with a gesture of holding his hand out, palm facing the side. Something akin to 'come for a hug,' or 'speak/tell me something,' giving a small, appropriate greeting smile. "I must say it is nice to meet you, miss Herra, yes let's continue." Eddak followed suit behind the woman, placing his hands and arms behind his back and holding his wrist, his uniform being quite tight. "Ah, yes, something I've been meaning to speak to Queen Kay about. Since the Galactic Empire took over, becoming our overlords, we had been punished slightly in the beginning for not graciously accepting them in the first place. I have been working diligently to regain approval by them, and settling disagreements. Pzob virtually stopped existing while all plans were made internal, towards the Galactic Empire. But enough of my dreary story, how has the great Commenor thrived while I've been silent?"

Olivia was unaware of the Galactic Empire's movements or operations on other worlds. It wasn't her job to keep tabs on everything in the Galaxy. Her concerns lay in the CSA affairs and the Lady's schedule. "The CSA is thriving well. Our Lord and Lady have just been blessed with twins, so as you can imagine, they keep to themselves quite a bit."

It didn't take long for the landspeeder to arrive, given that they had priority. Olivia got out, waited for [member="Eddak Manod"] to do so as well and then headed inside the Palace. "We have no enemies yet. And with wars happening to the south-west of us, we are not in anyone's line of sight. I hope that it stays that way."

Once they reached Kay's office, Olivia knocked three times and opened the door. "Lord Manod to see you, My Lady." She stepped aside to let the man enter.

"Thanks Olivia." Kay was at the side table, pouring herself yet another cup of Sapir tea. She put the kettle down and then approached him with a smile. "Good to see you. I hope that your trip was pleasant."

[member="Lady Kay"]

"Agreed," Eddak mentioned, "The CSA coming under fire any time soon would mean I can't quite support them as much as I'd like to. Oh and, twins?" The Lord?" Eddak was taken aback, but he still kept his attention to following. He didn't realize the Queen was taken, that she was pregnant, had kids. He didn't realize how long he had been gone until now, truly. "I'm sure they're just as beautiful as their parents, right?" After reaching the house and the door to where miss Kay presided, Eddak straightened his jacket to look presentable. This woman had just been through a double pregnancy, and she had been kind and helped his fort in the past... it only seemed right to be presentable to her. Although now... Eddak seems more like a General, than a King...

Nodding to Olivia, with a subtle thank you for being his escort for the time, he took a step inside the room, looking for Lady Kay. Once he spotted her, he looked to attention, as if he was a military man seeing a higher rank. "Greetings, Lady Kay, Queen of Commenor." Readjusting himself, he took a relaxed posture, slowly approaching the woman but stopping about twenty feet from her unless she ushered him closer or to sit down. "I have just realized how long we have been out of communication; I hope the twins are very healthy. I wish I had known, I would have requested to speak to you another time. Or... would it be best if I spoke to whoever I presume would be... the ...King of Commenor, now?" Eddak meant no disrespect, as it showed on his face.... he was slightly timid and confused; he saw Lady Kay just as prestigious as any King, but he did not know how politics were on Commenor, and he was doing his best to be respectful. "I wanted to speak to you on where Fort Galderra is now, within the CSA. I can't quite remember how much we became partners, or if we even did... unfortunately, I apologize. The work load with the Galactic Empire has kept me up late at nights into the morning. In any case, I would like to discuss full membership, and full supply offers.... I don't just want to be on the list, I wish to contribute."

Kay bowed her head to [member="Eddak Manod"] as he greeted her. She approached him fully and held her hand out for him to shake, then gestured for him to sit in one of the comfy chairs. "Thank you. And yes, the twins are very healthy. Their father [member="Veiere Arenais"] and I have decided to keep them out of the spotlight for the time being. We'd rather that they not be burdened with it." It kept the twins safer too.

She went back to the side table, remembering now what Eddak's people were like during her visit. She wasn't a man, so being a leader of her people was a bit unusual in their society. Although a King generally has a higher authority than a Queen, she put them on equal footing. Veiere didn't handle matters of state as much as she did, but that didn't make him any less of a leader. And leadership was what he was born for.

Kay poured him a cup of tea as well and then carried it over to him, holding her own in her other hand before taking a seat in an adjacent chair. She sipped her tea, listening to his proposal. "We had an agreement in place, but it wasn't ratified on your end. I figure that this was when the Galactic Empire came to your world. I don't blame you for losing touch as I'm sure it's quite the adjustment to make. We are allied with them in some small way, giving them access to one of our trade routes. I do what I can to keep my people safe, as I'm sure that you do." Another sip of her tea was taken as she pondered on his latter comments. "What do you mean by full membership? For just yourself? Or?..."

[member="Lady Kay"]

Eddak instead gracefully held the Queens hand to give it a respectable kiss, and then sat down along side her, still keeping his posture. "Have no fear, Queen Kay, I may not represent myself as one of your armies, but I will fight like one. If you ever need me, I'll do what I can; You'd do well to remember that," he nodded. Lady Kay had been the only one to originally attempt help in Galderra independence, and she didn't cast him out for the culture he was raised in. Eddak respects any strong woman, and he has his own ideals for Galderra and Pzob, he just can't put them into effect without the people questioning him. However, the people of Galderra would understand if he was to try and fight for Queen Kay's family, that family did do what they could for Galderra, after all.

Nervous, now calming down, Eddak graciously accepted the tea and took a moment to slowly drink it, "Thank you, Queen Kay," he said hushed as she continued, occasionally he looked up to show she had his attention. "I apologize that I was not able to fulfill our agreement. Many official papers were lost when part of the governmental house was burned down, along with some other... buildings, uhm, another time for that," Eddak was looking sad as he mentioned the buildings, but gave a fake smile at the end to avoid it. "However, I mean full membership from Galderra, and soon hopefully Pzob. My ideals involve all around Pzob, and making it a powerful performer in the galactic events. Of course, before any of that could ever happen, we would need independence." Eddak quickly set down his tea, gently. "Now this does not mean I wish for the CSA to come to our rescue... of course not, you have many matters to attend to, and I'm sure you wouldn't want to bring down that peace. Perhaps, a non-public membership, until Pzob can get back on its own feet, but as a full member, I'd like to do everything I can to support the CSA, even if it means... 'losing' some supplies meant to go to the Galactic Empire. I don't want us to seem like some privileged settlement with support from the CSA. We are a strong people, and I know we can support you right, Queen Kay."

Kay frowned ever so slightly as [member="Eddak Manod"] spoke of his buildings burning. His people must have put up quite the fight when the Empire came. Unless of course those buildings were burned down as examples of what could happen to a defiant people. She didn't really know the Empire well enough to understand their workings.

She sipped her tea as he continued. Now she believed that she had understood him. An alliance with her government could prove problimatic. But then it might not. The Empire weren't their enemies. Kay understood his precaution as he just wanted to protect his people, much like she did for her own. And he wanted to secure their future too.

"I don't have any issue with you becoming a member here. You haven't done us any wrong and you are welcome to stay here for as long as you'd like and any time you are in the area. There shouldn't be any problems with us continuing to support your people, through supplies and otherwise. At least that's my understanding of it."

[member="Lady Kay"]

Eddak smiled before picking the tea back up taking another drink while she spoke, listening intently. "I appreciate your answer, Queen Kay. Now, while I am here, is there any operations you would need of me? I'd appreciate being able to contribute as soon as possible," he continued, setting the tea down on his knee. "All of Pzob is seemingly controlled by Galderra, and it is all militarized, meaning I can utilize any ship or supply I need. ...I didn't enforce militarization, by the way, the culture was there before I was born. Heh, every civilian trains themself for the militia, anyway. I could prepare relief or supply ships to support your next war effort, escort a transport ship, or even help rebuild one of your own worlds after a war outbreak. Remember, my supplies are yours, Queen Kay, all you need is ask."

Kay wasn't quite sure of what to tell [member="Eddak Manod"] . His society was from her own in the way that it was managed. But then again, so were most that she had come across. Different was good. She valued different viewpoints and different ideas on how to solve a problem or deal with a situation.

"We are not at war, nor do we plan to be. But we are ramping up our fleets and defences, just in case. And with that we are patrolling our borders. Would you like to have a hand in that?" She could easily see Eddak commanding one of their large navy vessels. Or helping to orginize the fleets and strategize. "Ypur experiences with warfare and it's tactics would help us greatly."

[member="Lady Kay"]

Eddak nodded sternly as he listened, agreeing as he would like to support the CSA. "Queen Kay, I wish to become a major supporter of CSA in time, as it is my belief I personally owe you for initially reaching out to me, and even putting your trust in a foreign individual which you had no knowledge of. My support also goes to the King, of course. I would enjoy very much so to assist in your fleet progression and border patrols. If we could come to an agreement, I would like to offer the few Galderra Shipyards we have to also produce your ships. We don't need any blueprint agreement, any CSA ship produced will go directly to you. Of course, we will need the materials, and it will be slow.... but each ship built will be an addition to your fleets. We can also offer services to your people for personal or private ship production. We may not be the fastest, but I promise they will come out at peak performance and quality."

Kay half smiled, althpugh she didn't feel as though [member="Eddak Manod"] had owed her anything. No more so than any other leader that she had made a trade contract with.

"Your offer is very kind. We could use more ships and have many of the materials requured as we have our own shipyards in our territory. Yet it could never hurt to have more ships created in another location. For if ours were ever destroyed, having another means of gaining ships would be very valuable."

Hopefully it would never come to that. Hopefully war would never breach their borders. But one day it would. Kay was reminded of that fact more often than not by their allies.

Eddak nodded slightly, although his smile and nodding wavered as he looked down. He took a breath and smiled brightly as he looked back up, covering his other expression as he prepared to stand, and then lifting up. As he stood he straightened his uniform, reaching a hand out; whether Kay offered her hand to be kissed or shook, Eddak would do either. "Alright, I do not wish to bother you any longer, you have your twins and an entire space kingdom to manage. It was great seeing you again, Queen Kay, truly. After I return home I will prepare our shipyards to receive your requests, and make sure the fuel supplies are abundant to give any ships of yours we build a good topping off. And you know our shipyards are always available to your people for repair and restock. Is there anything more you need of me, before I head off?"

Kay looked up as [member="Eddak Manod"] stood. He held out his hand, obviously as a polite gesture. She set down her tea and got to her feet, placing her hand in his for a firm yet gentle shake. This was a bit of a business deal afterall. "Thank you. It's been great to see you again as well. Thank you for keeping in touch. Not everyone does that. I don't require anything else at the moment. But should I need your expertise, I'll send for you. And as always, when you happen to be near Commenor, you are welcomed to stay. I can even set up an office for you in the Senate Hall where you can represent your people to the rest of my government. Does that sound alright with you?"

[member="Lady Kay"]

Eddak curled a smile slightly as he nodded, he could really see how great of a woman Lady Kay was. He gripped her hand for a moment, taking a step between them to slightly close the distance. His eyes looked side to side to notice who was in the room. "Forgive me, Queen Kay," he whispered for a moment, "I need honesty between us, so I apologize if I overstep my boundaries by this compliment. If the Galactic Empire had not intervened in my duties on Galderra, I think I would have mapped Pzob with cities and products, and even grew my military larger to be a competitor for medals in your army. I think I would have asked you to dance." He smiled, just for a moment, and then released her hand. Eddak knew saying such a thing was a massive risk, not just between him and Lady Kay, but he may see the King come for him one day. But Eddak was nothing if not a man of risk, and he still admired the Queen. He took a step back and fixed his uniform from when he sat down.

"I pray the twins live a momentous life, and the King and Queen of the Commenor Systems Alliance gain nothing but everything they ever wanted. I prefer in-person meetings, helps solidify things. And an office is not necessary, however I may send a representative. I came today because I will be gone for awhile as I get my affairs in order. Thank you," he bowed slightly, "Queen Kay. I'll be on my way now."

Kay raised a brow as [member="Eddak Manod"] stepped towards her as he shook her hand. It wasn't until he looked around and lowered his voice to a whisper that she had understood why. Given that the Galactic Empire were Imperial in nature, they no doubt spied on everyone in the same manner of paranoia as the First Order. Although she was confident that the GE didn't spy on her at all. The Cloned Troopers that were given to her by them had been kept well away from Chasin City and also from herself. There was hardly a visit by any of their personnel in all this time as well. So in her mind, it was safe.

She blinked as he commented on having thought of asking her to dance. Had he fallen for her at some point? She was off limits to everyone but her husband. It was strange for anyone but Veiere to be so foward. But then again, a dance could be just as simple as that. A dance and nothing more. "Perhaps you should be grateful for not having danced with me. It has saved your toes from being stepped on through the whole ordeal. Just as I'm not a good fighter, I'm not a good dancer. I think far too much."

Kay bowed her head as he refused to have the office for himself, but accepted it for his people nonetheless. To each their own, of course. She was never going to force it on anyone. "Thank you. And should you need any more assistance from us, don't hesitate to ask. We look forward to the fine craftsmanship of your ship builders." She walked with him to her office door and opened it for him, stepping aside to let her walk out. "Safe journey home, Eddak."

[member="Lady Kay"]

Eddak grinned as response to Lady Kays statement and as she walked him to the door. "Oh, but Queen Kay, the secret is I've never danced before, myself. Perhaps I didn't mean the romantic kind of dance, or something altogether different." He gave a laugh, loving when standard meetings become a little boisterous. "In any event, I do so enjoy our talks, even when they turn into business chats. I will have my people send yours more details on the agreement we've come to. They can sort out all the complicated bits" Eddak bowed his head and gave Lady Kay an official Imperial Salute and uttered the words, "Hail the Queen!" Something that may be outrageously unexpected by Lady Kay, as Eddak giving the salute in his culture showed they praised a form of prestige, honor, or all in all leadership. It meant Eddak respected Lady Kays Queen title over his own King Title. After all, Eddak wasn't truly of any noble blood; he was the first King of Pzob, the first to put into place Monarchy. However, his praise to Lady Kay meant more than just respect. In Pzob, an imperial salute guarantees trust, a promise to follow their leader into battle and to protect them with their life.

"Goodbye, for another time, Queen Kay." A very quick nod with a smile from Eddak was the last Lady Kay saw before he abruptly about-faced and left the room.

[member="Eddak Manod"] was a strange sort of man. But then again that could be his culture. The manner in the way that she was treated, the way that he had spoken to her, even in the way that he acted. Hail the Queen? That made her feel...a little strange. At times people would tease her about becoming an Empress, but no. She didn't want to turn her government into an Empire. In truth they'd be a good one. But still....the mere idea of an Empire made people think of evil.

And she didn't want that.

After Eddak left, she closed the door to her office and went back to work.
