Look to your left, now your right. They've killed someone.

There was a stark beauty to the planet. It was green like Felucia or bright like Coruscant. Antisoch had a different kind of beauty to it. It was the beauty of evolution. The inhabitants of the harsh planet are perfectly designed to survive in an environment that is completely hostile. Granted, it wasn't just the environment that tries to kill, it's the inhabitants themselves. If the planet is their "mother" then they themselves are the bastardised, inbred offspring. The Sociph have evolved to kill each other, and they've gotten good at doing so. But what's even more dangerous, is they've gotten subtle about it. No one dies of old age on Antisoch, and no one investigates too deeply.

They are xenophobic, the Sociph. Now, to be phobic implies a fear of something. Fear is something the Sociph are incapable of feeling. The substitute is a high value on their self worth and survival. They are xenophobic because they understand that the galaxy is too large for one empire to control. As they number but a single planet, they wouldn't last long if they indulged their violent tendencies outside their planet in a unified way. So they stay where they can control their environment. In limited cases outsiders are allowed to trade in space stations in orbit, but these are "trusted" individuals who comprehend the risks should they reveal the location of the planet. They may keep to themselves, but the Sociph arm is long.

The government is barely what can be described as unified. There have been revolutions every few years only to institute their own dictator. Within the depths of the system lies a shadowy group that has remained constant. They are survivors, spies, and murderers. It is their task to see to it that Antisoch remains a secret and whoever is currently in power stays that way for as long as possible. At least, until they deem them needing removed. None are sure exactly how many they number. Rumors range from thousands to a mere handful. In any case, if there are newcomers, they are being watched.

You may be a traveller who simply stumbled upon the planet or you may have business there. In any case the advise is the same. Do what you must, and leave as quickly as possible. You are not welcome.

If there was one thing that Velcar was, it was that he was civil. Of course he knew of the unfortunate ones who were brutes and always
on edge, but he could never see himself as one of the like. Until now. Velcar was a man of adventure and exploration true, yet, those ambitions could lead elsewhere to the more hazardeous parts of the vast galaxy. As he had always thought, there had to be more out there, and here it was.

A wasteland of a planet, he saw nothing but sand and mere small patches of brown and green vegetation, on which he assumed there were to be advanced life. You may be wondering why he would keep himself to this at all. It wasn't just the sense of exploration kicking in, no. It was the fact that, on all charts he looked upon, there was no mention of this planet, not even a name. Not to mention, of course, that he had to drop out of hyperspace pre-maturely due to a low-fuel warning he had received.

As he and his ship-partner [member="Vettu'honi'oazi"] neared the ship ports, there came a call over his ship. The voice, in itself, was rough. Very rough. It sounded almost human and could be understood, yet, it was unpleasant to the ear. As it called over the ship, Velcar winced;
"State your business, turn back, or be terminated. We will not hesitate on hostility. You have 30 seconds."
Not knowing what to think, he turned to [member="Vettu'honi'oazi"] for an answer.

It was nice to be traveling once again, the constant scenes of the lower city from Coruscant and many other worlds getting rather boring over time, day in day out, same clients, same work, same smell and all that jazz. Not Vetuu needed something different something new and exciting, perhaps once again to return to the outer rim from where she and her kind came. As such when a certain man [member="Zelv'elcar'coras"] voiced need for a crew in his exploratory trips she was more the glad to tag along, being nice to once again be accompany another Chiss.

Their first stop, some uncharted world on the end of wild space, a planet that's name did not ring any bells, only mere rumors to go on andtail from afar. Not a very pleasant place to start out with, but if that was what Zelcar wanted who was she to complain, might bring an interesting challenge, or just wind up being a stick in the mud. Either way not much could be done, seeing as the ship in which the flew just soooo happened to be running out of fuel, and of course the ships orbital station greeting them with a passive aggressive message.

"Wait, your looking at me for a response, *sigh* why not just state our problem mister 'we can make the next jump without refueling', other then that perhaps traders from the other side of the galaxy I don't know, never really read much up on this place".

The man was a threat. Well, he wasn't quite a man, not fully. It was understood that his species were very close to a standard human, but yet they were something else entirely. Some would argue that they were actually less than humanity, that the Sociph evolution was a warped branch of humanity that went wrong many generations ago. They disagreed. He, like the rest of his species, had no trouble passing himself off as a lesser human and used this similarity extensively to get close to the offworlders that would stop at the space port. It was the Sociph's blessing really, to be so close to the arguable majority of the galaxy yet to be so very far away. It was the reason the offworlders that found their way to the Sociph's edge of the galaxy were usually human or an offshoot. This wasn't to say that nonhumans didn't occasionally wind up there. It was just, well, they didn't last long. Business on Antisoch was cutthroat to say the least.

But to call him a threat was an understatement. His species produced dangerous individuals as a standard. And individuals they were, one and all. The problem with a planet full of violent individualists was that there was a constant desire to make something of themselves. To distance themselves from the pack. Jack-ei was something else entirely on his planet. He was hyper-lethal, unpredictable, and quite mad. It was his occasional breaks from reality that gave him his edge amongst his competitors and made him stand out amongst a planet of killers. So much so that a certain band had taken a liking to him. The group was never spoken of directly, few knew that they existed. Amongst a populace that has never known the taste of true fear they inspired the closest thing. Jack-ei took a level of joy in being a member. For a man of his profession it was the highest level he could attain, though to be honest he was growing bored with it. It was a "flaw" that was common amongst his people. Psychopaths get bored easily.

His role at present was an interesting one and of vital importance. As was his nature he didn't take it too seriously. He was to play the part of the clearance executive at one of the space ports that orbited the planet. If that was what it was called. He wasn't exactly sure. It would probably have been beneficial to ask the man he had just killed what his job title was. Couldn't be helped now, though. Jack-ei wasn't one to live in the past. His new underlings were certainly surprised by his promotion. It could have been his striking good looks or the blood that was on the uniform he had stripped off of the individual he had replaced. He did have to look the part after all and he didn't know where to get a clean one.

"There's a ship approaching. We told them the usual." This came from one of his underlings. He looked like a scavenging vampiric rodent that lived on the surface. Jack-ei look at him and blinked his eyes a few times to stretch out the silence.

"There's a ship approaching and we told them the usual what?" Say it.

"Sir."

"No the whole thing. Say the whole thing." He smiled at the rodent-man. Even the fearless Sociph disliked seeing Jack-ei's smile. The rodent's eyes turned to slits. This one had fire. He hadn't been in his position for very long but he already knew he didn't like insubordination. No one in the room was certain where the bolt came from. They only clue they really had was that Jack-ei held a Sociph pistol. The rodent-man was unrecognizable. Such was the power of weapons built by killers. The Sociph's gaze fell to the one standing next to the corpse of the rodent-man.

"There's a ship approaching and we've told them the usual sir." There it was, the perfect amount of defiance. Do what your superior says but do it with flair.

"Let them dock unharassed. I have a good feeling about my first ship as clearance executive. Don't you? Yes. A good feeling."

A fury class interceptor could be seen flying around the orbit of the planet, inside the ship The Shadow Guard roamed its auto-pilot feature working, he wasn't sure about the planet, Thalnoth turned off the auto-pilot just letting the ship hang in the suspense of space, the ship hanging there Thalnoth took a deep breath, a slight tremble racking his body.

The Shadow Guard descended down into the atmosphere with the ship, he neared the spaceport the engines of the ship roaring and spitting out a slight fire, another ship was there and he got the same message.

"State your business, turn back, or be terminated. We will not hesitate on hostility. You have 30 seconds."

Thalnoth didn't respond he just turned up the power to his shields as he entered the space port, "If you fire at me, I will slaughter the troops within your spaceport, I am here to adventure, and trade" Thalnoth said in a calm tone as his ship touched down in the space port the ship just sitting there for several minutes not moving.

It was until the ramp started to come down from the ship a white smoke coming from the ship as a man in a cloak who dressed like a Shadow Guard walked down the ramp looking around, Thalnoth dreaded this planet but could sense a dark feeling from it, it would be a interesting adventure for him and he loved the taste of adventure.

Thalnoth looked around spotting for any guards, hopefully the ship behind him came in the spaceport aswell, it was just sitting there hovering a few clicks from the space port, he looked around his hand itching to go to his lightsaber pike if needed.

If needed he would revert back to his- own ways.

Velcar smiled and nodded at [member="Vettu'honi'oazi"] and turned to his comm
"Yes we mean no harm, our ship has began to run out of fuel and-"
He was then cut off by
"Right, don't care. You have permission to dock for one rotation to obtain fuel and leave. Move now."
Startled by the abruptness of the ship director, Velcar said nothing more and moved into the hanger of the spaceport where a Fury class Interceptor was already docked. Velcar landed the ship with ease and gathered his thoughts. Unknown planet, unknown people, and certainly not the most appealing type either (he couldn't fathom what they must look like). Taking his pistol and brown shawl with him, he exits the ship slowly but with good posture, with Vettu strutting behind him. As he exits, he notices no other beings other than a tall, dark hooded figure standing not too far away, assuming that to be the owner of the Interceptor ship, he goes to introduce himself to see if the man knew anything about the planet.

Vettu returned the sly smile, waiting until they got permission to dock, which they did, kind of a shock, even if the person on the other end was not the most friendly sounding person 'I guess this is a good start, whelp better get my things together'. Leaving the ships cock pit the Chiss gathered a small amount of her belongings, a pistol, security slicer and data pad, herself current wearing the black tight fitting cocktail dress of old, this being a casual adventure and all.

Stepping out of the ship her red eye met that of a darkly hooded man, knowing instantly what type of person they where, "careful Zelcar, that guy looks like a shadow guard, not the best people to talk with". What was even stranger was why a shadow guard was all the way out here, with the CIS and GE at war would not he be needed elsewhere, unless the Empire was looking to flee somewhere.
