LFG Looking for more contacts, friends and rivals

Balun Dashiell Balun Dashiell

I’ve seen you around a few times, only know a little about your character. I’m thinking maybe Eloise would be a good fit.

She is a former Sith turned… unorthodox Jedi, known for being abrasive and a bit of a bully. Balun seems like somebody she would think was cool on principle.

If you’re leaning more Sith, her brother Marcus is an acolyte. And as Nouqai Veil Nouqai Veil said, I have a ton of other characters to choose from if you’re looking for something different.

Balun Dashiell Balun Dashiell Only just woke up but yeah! I have a ton of people for you to choose from.

Shan is pretty much a pacifist. Focused around support/healing. Probably wouldn't agree with the whole rebel thing but he would never actually say it out loud.

Lestra Thairk Lestra Thairk is my dumb padawan I made since Shan became a knight. Overly energetic and an entire goofball that never stops to think for a moment.

Kiwa Kiles Kiwa Kiles Balun will probably see around in the Tingel Arm Coalition. She's totally doing it to be a hero, not because she was bored of having money. Totally >.>

There's also a lot more to pick from.

Since the invasion has been concluded, I'm looking for more threads to get involved in.

What Balun needs is more friends and contacts across the Galaxy. I don't have a preference of archetypes, happy to write with anyone and everyone so if you're interested just give me a shout :)
Thanks to Nouqai Veil Nouqai Veil on the tag lol.

And yeah...I have a lot... but I'll only list a few.

But yeah I'd love to hop in depending on preferences. I have mariah, of course. 85 years old and knows a lot on a lot of topics, but looks and acts more on the young side a lot, however is new to being a sith and proper force sensitive. So she often acts via her droid as a sort of proxy (not a replica droid but it does look relatively human, just very white, looks like Gem from Tron) she also is able to sort of become the droid, not so much that if her true body died she'd just be the droid. But enough that if she was already fully entranced into it, the connection can't be severed via stuff like ysalimir fields. Very tech focused, and seeking to speed up her practice of using the force, but still the type to socialize and stuff. She's just...cautious. Of the characters I'm gonna list, Mariah is the LEAST combatively capable, but, she doesn't rely on pure skill. She's a great pilot and uses loads of technology. And of course, has her droid operate in her place thus avoiding direct danger. Mariah could pretty easily be put into non combat situations even with jedi, as long as it's outside sith space. But combat or some other kind of conflict works too.

I have three total marrs actually lol. Here's the other two and then I've got a jedi padawan, and mad alchemist who might be used. And Salis who's...her own thing with more detail.

Koto Demascón of House Marr Koto Demascón of House Marr is Mariah's son, frozen in carbonite for a time then let out by someone that worked with the family. He's half korunnai, and very violent (hence the initial carbonite). An excellent fighter, but with only a few genuinely skilled force abilities, pyromancy, a specific type of force imbuement, something sort of like a mix of very heightened empathy (sending out more than recieving) and mind trick type deal, and then that his force sense is very sound focused. He has normal hearing, but his force sense grew by noise due to an issue in the carbonite, and he started just hearing through the force. Anything with him PROBABLY involves violence. Whether or not it's directed at Balun personally. He's not actually all that powerful in the force but it's very hard to exhaust his force reserves. So he can use it often. You won't generally see some massive heatwave or him trying to rip a ship out of the sky type thing. He didn't really know Mariah, she left him with his family on harun kal and only reconnected when Falentra (the one who saved him) brought him to the house of Marr. Of the three marrs he probably only really uses a smaller ship, Mariah has her own extremely durable ship, Elise has a couple good ships and squadrons.

Elise of House Marr Elise of House Marr : One of Darth Malum's older sisters, Elise is of the three, weirdly, probably the least corrupted by the dark side. She has little care for sith politics, is generally a very friendly and casual person, and actually doesn't like war or combat. She participates mostly just to avoid trouble. She does care a lot for her family though. Aside from Salis and SOMETIMES Vash walker, definitely the most dangerous. Technically only a knight, but could probably hit a good bit above her weight class. She's very capable of force rage and very physical force abilities, with her own concept of what the dark side is actually like naturally. She does occasionally do scouting type missions, she did one recently to look over some of the worlds that were attacked by the Byrn'adul, doubling as recent mapping and to see how they might be fairing now. Naturally, it is probably on the harder side not to have them fight despite her distaste for it. TBH she'd probably just try and persuade them to surrender with threats of power and then toss the problem at Malum.

Then the other two,

Salis Salis One of the two first characters I made, she was a sith knight of the Jen'ari (I think that's it) who just LOVED combat and destruction. Koto kind of does, but for him, it's almost more animalistic, whereas for Elise it's more like the glee sidious looks like he has fighting maul and savage. And she's very good at it and fairly powerful. She grew on that over time, reasonably being just a really skilled knight, her power mostly being in her usage of tk to wield multiple phrik daggers while also using her sabers by hand. She did leave, became a mercenary/assassin, later marries and joins someone she'd met in the sith in a smaller faction, they have kids, also join either the eternal empire or zweihander union I think, but after her husbands death she retires. She noticed her love for combat was ever so slightly fading, and so tries to remedy that by actually seeking to go light side. Because power alone isn't worthwhile to her, she has to enjoy it. And if she had to rely on anger just to fight and live, it just isn't worth anything to her anymore. So right now she's psuedo light side. She is also pretty friendly much like Elise, though she's gotten a little less energetic over time. She's also, technically, rich. She just doesn't use any of her money often. Since her biggest interest was violence, which was something she could gain money from, she really only bothered to pay enough to keep her equipment going.

Anen Anen is sort of from the same species as Walker Walker (the alchemist), sort of. Long story short, force sensitive organs. THe most common sub-group have them where they just enhance physical attributes and maybe allow a telekinetic grip, the less common (which is what anen is) can use them to shapeshift. The species has very high skill in biology, and engineered that organ into their species a long time ago, along with changing many of the local species in various ways. Anen himself took to the biology as well and so is extremely good at both it and shapeshifting, but had been kind of left behind due to his mother going insane when his father did (long story, force shenanigan's in the dark side) and he basically has gone FULL on jedi as much as he can. Including REFUSING to use the force as a direct attack. He's only a jedi padawan and so mostly just knowsn shii cho and ataru a bit, and prefers study. The only reason he might be more of a threat than most padawans is that his shapeshifting is pretty extreme, and so mostly allows far great variety and physical stats.

Walker Walker was one of the ones who only can use it for tk, and was a roaming alchemist/biologist who thinks himself a sort of minor god essentially, creating and altering various species. He's completely insane, cannot use the lightside at all, and probably one of my most evil characters. He later however decided that in order to keep making more species, he should be able to survive more threats. And so made it so his force organ can do both the tk/enhancement, as well as shapeshifting (though slowly), and used dathomir/nightsister force and tainted crystals, that further enhance power, can create unease and choking green smoke. He's generally just looking for test subjects or data, or he's trying to find ways to increase a (very loosely held) underworld connection system to keep him gaining wealth. So things like spice and slavery to helping pirates take out a town are all on the menu just as much as rare species/rituals or something. He's perfectly 'friendly' just not like elise, so social threads technically are possible, but expect him to be a but loony.

Both anen and walker technically do have telepathy. But walker's madness sometimes makes it often unreliable or only surface leval, and Anen avoids it out of respect most of the time.

Apologies for the brief wait on my reply, work's been busy >.>

Eloise Dinn Eloise Dinn

I'm all for writing with Eloise, you would know who best suits interacting with Balun and I'm not specifically looking for combat but rather more contacts to work alongside or build a competitive relationship with. She seems pretty ideal from what you've said. Balun's going to be focusing more so on the Outer Rim Territories as I've thrown him in with the Tingel Arm Coalition, but he can be anywhere he needs to be with the transport he has :)

Kiwa Kiles Kiwa Kiles

Tingel Arm Buddies for sure, we could certainly do with a good intro together :)

Mariah of House Marr Mariah of House Marr

Elise of House Marr Elise of House Marr sounds great, we can def focus somewhere outside of Sith Space. Balun was previously dating Cordelia of House Marr, that's no longer a thing but Balun is certainly familiar with House Marr as his best friend Falentra was also tied up with them. I think it'd be interesting to meet more of the wonderful family xD

What's going on in the Outer Rim? I'd like to get Eloise out of her comfort zone, send her somewhere she hasn't been before.

The Tingel Arm Coalition is due to kick off its introductory thread shortly, but essentially, it's a new faction that will look to oppose the Empire in the Outer Rim Territories. Balun, specifically, was part of the defence of Coruscant. Protecting and serving those living in the Outer Rim also means working to deter any further attacks and devastation like what we've seen recently in the Core Worlds.

Fantastic!
Also interesting situation lol, Mariah's son Koto was/is dating Falentra (unsure where that is set at currently).
Still, would love to have them meet! Have any ideas specifically? Elise can travel a bit, I could have the excuse of it being her making it a scouting thing, or that she's picking up some artifact that she doesn't really care about, or it's a vacation lol.

It's a small Galaxy after all!

Currently, Balun Vale is based in the Outer Rim Territories, specifically Maldra IV or Hurikane. There's a Jedi Temple on Hurikane that is currently being retaken and refurbished by the Tingel Arm Coalition, however Balun could be anywhere on the two world's or otherwise exploring the Outer Rim. Is there anything that is of interest to Elise of House Marr Elise of House Marr in the Outer Rim that strikes your fancy?

Howdy there

Why hello there!

We write?

Well at this point I've made it a habit that Elise basically does recon so I could probably say she's doing that, and would just pick up anything convenient while doing so. Course the exist of the jedi temple could be something she's keeping an eye out for at a distance as well, just to see how they are progressing and whatnot. Though I imagine she'd avoid getting directly involved with a jedi temple unless she went through the effort of disguising herself and coming up with an extensive cover story.

To meet her alone, could do it in various cities that have spaceports or docks, or if she felt like checking things out personally, maybe her actual ships keep their distance, and she takes a less imperial one just with a few troops to leave on it and then checks things out herself. Would leave room for more options. Just need to pick a specific city. I don't think Hurrikane has anything aside from that jedi temple but there's a good few other planets, maybe Maldra has a city. I know gand is nearby but I don't think that has a human livable environment.

How about Kesh, or Daiyu?

Kesh has plenty of options for terrain and settlements, whereas Daiyu is one massive cityscape. Both hold lots of potential, and for Balun, he is currently looking to get a bit more of a feel for life in the Outer Rim Territories. On appearance alone, Balun's gear makes him look part mercenary, part Jedi - So he will be pretty easy to identify as a Force User. I'm happy for either of the two world's, personally. Knowing Balun, sensing the presence of a Darksider will lure his intrigue and he'll want to see who they are, what they're up to etc.

Probably best to do Daiyu, Elise actually went to Kesh before and ran into the dude who came back from the dead. She wasn't totally sure how much was true, but she did absolutely see he was an abnormality and doesn't feel like causing problems with him. Though, she probably wouldn't cause problems for him even if she did go. But still.

Daiyu could be fun. I'm sure she could figure out how to hide her presence, but I'd be up for letting her not try. She often dresses very casual by comparison. So could be neat to see how they interact. If she was going to try and stay chill, I guess she might hide her saber(s) in her jacket or something. Plus could say she has some extra agents just surveying the planet, and have sent some un-identified probe droids to scan nearby areas in general.

Daiyu sounds like an excellent plan to me then.

Would you like to start the thread, or should I? I've been at work all day, and I'm not sure how much brain activity I have left, but if you don't mind waiting a bit, I'm happy to get us started off.

Lol. Both gonna have some trouble starting the thread then, i just started work again post wisdom teeth. If you can that would be great! But if you think it would take an extra day or two I’d be willing to try. No promises on quality though lol.

Don't know how this one would fit into your idea of posting, but would like to see about getting some writing done in the Outer Rim with you.

Yané is a troublesome person, usually getting into messes involving credits or data in the Outer Rim since that's home for her. No moral objections to things happening to other people like slavery and the like but her moral standing can quickly change if credits are offered. She'll also backstab for the right amount of credits.

Elise of House Marr Elise of House Marr , I have to apologize as I had totally forgotten to get around to starting our thread. I wound up with Covid all last week and just returned to work starting today so I've been all over the place, but I will look at getting this sorted when possible.

Yané Unassi Yané Unassi I'm probably at max capacity given that I've returned to work and can only get one or two posts out per night. That said, I'm happy to lock this in for the future. Judging by her character, it's hard to say how the two would come to meet. On one hand, Balun's stolen a Starship in the past in order to help support his Clan, but on the other hand he's now part of the Aquilian Rangers who are meant to keep the peace in the Tingel Arm and Outer Rim Territories, so it could very much go either way depending on her actions and interests. He's also broke A F.
