Eralam
Character
I've not got much going on with Chaos at the moment, and frankly, my interest is waning. Before I write it off altogether and move onto greener pastures, however, it's only fair to acknowledge that I've only got myself to blame for the disinterest, and to attempt to rectify the situation.
See, I've had a lot of threads fizzle out over the years, usually for one of three reasons:
Arguably the duty thing could be blamed on Uncle Sam, but starting things right before I go on orders helps nothing. At the very least, I ought to be able to anticipate when something might pop up. It's been over a decade now.
Dealing with factions is far and away the most reliable way to generate storylines on Chaos, but on the whole, I prefer to remain as neutral as possible. I've had some great storylines with a few of them, but being burned once or twice has led to some world class commitment issues. There are some great stories being told by factions these days, and the fault for not wanting to get involved rests entirely at my own feet.
As far as the writing partner thing goes, that's on me as well. I can hardly complain about a partner that doesn't meet my standards if I don't clearly communicate them before the start of the thread. That might seem arrogant, and to be fair it is, but truth be told, I don't like dealing with people who can't write well or have difficulty telling a story or posting regularly. I know we're not supposed to admit that out loud, but having to decipher poor spelling/grammar or regularly bug someone to post annoys me. I get that not everyone speaks English as a first (or even second or third in some cases) language, and that life happens. I also get that it's hypocritical to complain about people not posting given my own propensity to up and vanish for weeks at a time thanks to military duty.
TL;DR: This is a problem of my own making, and I should probably make one more attempt to fix it before leaving for any real length of time.
With that in mind, I'm looking for a writing partner that meets the following criteria:
See, I've had a lot of threads fizzle out over the years, usually for one of three reasons:
- Military duty, unexpected or otherwise, that kills momentum before it gets going.
- Reluctance to deal with factions.
- Realizing that a writing partner/story pace was not up to minimum standards necessary to hold my interest.

With that in mind, I'm looking for a writing partner that meets the following criteria:
- Intermediate to advanced skill as a writer. I don't expect every (or any) post to be a novel, but one should be able to express their ideas clearly, and be able to tell complex stories. Looking for something a little deeper than See Spot Run.
- Open minded and flexible. I've no preconceived concept of the sort of story I'm looking to tell. I figure we'll let the characters sort that out.
- Able to post regularly. I don't expect every day or even every other day, but barring unforeseen circumstances, posting should be regular and come with a minimum of prodding.
- Still not interested in factions. Sorry, folks.
- I've no preference towards faces familiar or new. If we've written together before and you want to have another go, great. If we're passingly familiar with each other but have never tried to interact, also great. If you're new to the site and know you're a good writer, that's great as well. In that respect, at least, I don't discriminate.
