[member="Geneviève Lasedri"] - I'll be honest, as a member of the GA and investigating the SSC for an alt of mine, this would deter me *hugely* from activity with either faction if they started involving the GR in their plots. Part of their draw to me is they are not the GR and while not forbidding contact or co-op, have nothing official set-up. Freedom to let the writers be and do what they see fit. I've seen from trying to monitor and help with 'political' talks with the Mandalorian faction exactly what a 'treaty' or 'alliance' will get you from the GR, and I'm not keen on Round 2, when I don't see much having changed from Round 1.
The Republic has a terrible track record and a proven infectious toxicity that spreads to those too close to them. They have some proving to do relating to their maturity and ability to behave, in my mind, before i'm ready to jump into bed with them, so to speak. And things like the recent Map Update thread and 'Why Did You Leave the Republic Thread',. While not overtly hostile in either thread, the actions taken there by 'high profile members' and such has me convinced the root of the problem is still there. If you can't even manage or run your own house, why risk destabilizing or retarding our progress to slow your swan-dive into whatever your fate is?
In my opinion? You lost half your territory as a result of a long string of actions on yours and others parts(not claiming who did what to whom or where fault lies), and now you're trying to cling desperately to rising stars on the board to try and remain relevant and survive. I'm not saying to let you burn, but I'd like to see you prove you've changed and won't just use these new factions as a crutch that you will discard once you are stable.
