Strengths:
Tiny: The Needle Fighter’s miniature size in comparison to other starfighters makes it incredibly hard to target or even detect on most sensors (and can be hard to see as Needle Fighters are painted black to be invisible against the backdrop of space).
Coordinated Swarm: The CCIR technology allows mass amounts of these fighters to be fielded and remote-controlled, much more efficient and generally superior to having to put full droid brains in every starfighter.
Endurance: Unlike most droid starfighters and drones, Needle Fighters are highly self-sufficient, as they use a combination of solar panels and a Tsil crystal core. Swarms of these fighters are meant to wear down larger fighters -- and for that, they need time.
Weaknesses:
Fragile: Unshielded and with very little hull reinforcement, a single shot from a laser cannon is easily enough to destroy a Needle Fighter. Even a few shots from a blaster rifle might be able to disable one.
Needle: With only a single laser cannon, a Needle Fighter is ineffective against most opponents on its own -- but still, swarms of these craft can be effective.
Reliant: Needle Fighters, while hyperdrive equipped, still require a control ship. If the control ship is destroyed or the CCIR coordination array is disabled, the Needle Fighters will have no guidance.
Description: Why use a massive, unwieldy starfighter when you can unleash swarms of remote-controlled laser cannon cylinders to destroy your enemies? The size of a couch, the Loronar Needle Fighter Mk. V is a simple update to the ancient design of the Needle Fighter from hundreds of years ago, giving it the technology to keep up with current starships.
