Lost and Found

Not having any sense of where she should be going just that the further away from home at the moment the better the Chiss woman sat at her controls programming another jump into hyperspace away from her homeworld. This vessel may have been destined to be scrapped but the workers in the scrapyard had not had the opportunity to remove any critical or sensitive equipment from the consoles before she had stolen it. It was likely once they realized it was missing they would come looking for it and ultimately her. She really didn’t have any intention of returning home any time soon, home was too limiting, Ashra’syle’nuruodo knew there was something more for her out there.

Punching in the last of the calculations into the navi-computer Asylen leaned back in her seat and punched it. The ship accelerated hard up towards hyperspace until the distinctive and comfortable swirls of hyperspace surrounded her. She checked the countdown chrono on the displays and decided she had enough time to nap before she would have to wake up and bring the ship out of hyperspace. She set an alarm on her own chrono and closed her eyes drifting off to sleep.

No sooner had she fallen asleep was she violently woken up by the ship being thrown out of hyperspace. Ashra’syle’nuruodo tried to get control of the vessel as it bucked about into real space. She started to feel nausea rising from her stomach and fought to control the ship as well as her body to keep from vomiting all over the panels in front of her. It didn’t last long though, the ship bucked and shuddered into the atmosphere of a planet she had yet to get the opportunity to identify. The violence of it was enough to send her flailing against her safety harness and back into the edge of her seat hard enough to knock her clean unconscious.

Now descending into the planets’ atmosphere at an accelerating rate and unconscious it seemed Ashra’syle’nuruodo was doomed. As she ship got closer to the planet’s surface something inside the Chiss woman came to life, something she had not experienced since she was very young, and something that had never been properly identified. It was raw, unfocused and rather powerful for someone who had never trained in these skills before. As the ship barrelled towards the ground in what would surely be a final resting place it started to steady as the wild telekinetic energy tried to establish control over the failing ship.

With the friction of the atmosphere and wild telekinetic energy of the unfocused and untrained mind of the Chiss woman the ship started to slow, it was still coming in rather hot and the friction was causing a trail of burning debris around the small ship as it streaked towards the surface, over an open body of water towards a nearby forest. The ship probably would have impacted with the water and sank into the deep water drowning the unconscious Asylen, instead the ship skipped off the surface off the water a couple times and careened into the forest ahead. The impact against the heavy tree line caused whatever had awoken within the small Chiss to fade as she drifted deeper into unconsciousness the ship coming to a rest dozens of meters into the treeline its emergency transponder immediately coming on.

Crystal was lounging on a chair on a deck overlooking the lake and forest. She was not dressed for company, since she was wearing nothing more than a bathing suit and soaking in the sun. It was her first vacation in a very long time. This planet was renowned for its resorts and such. It was a relaxing spot indeed...until a disturbance in the Force caused her to furrow her brow.

An unknown presence, rapidly approaching. She opened her eyes in time to see the ship descending toward the lake. The Sith Princess waited to see where it would land. There was no point in investigating it if it sank to the bottom of the lake. The Force was definitely at work here, or the ship would have crashed into the lake by now....

That was enough for Crystal. Without bothering to cover herself up, she climbed the edge of the balcony and aided by the Force, she jumped to a clear spot before taking off running toward the ship and unfamiliar presence.

As the ship settled in onto the ground finally having come to a full stop the heat of the hull started a fire though the inside of the ship was well insulated from it. There was enough power in the crippled ship to keep the life support systems running at the minimums protecting it's injured occupant from the flames and smoke of the fire that was growing outside. Inside the little ship Ashra'syle'nuruodo was drifting in and out of consciousness, she had bumps bruises, small cuts all over her body and a nasty head wound which accounted for her inability to stay conscious. Someone would have to deal with the fire before they could get at her, she wasn't going to die anytime soon as long as the hull integrity remained and so far the flames outside were not hot enough to cause a breach into the main compartment where she sat.

Lana's mind was racing as she ran through the forest, moving from topic to topic and image to image. Even when she exercised, and slept, her mind was at work. The small woman was never at rest. It wasn't until a scent invaded her nostrils that she even noticed where she was. It was smoke. Fire.

She stopped and tilted her head all the way back. The smoke was rising above the trees, and she wasn't far away. Then she started running again, toward the fire, though she was unsure why. In the past, her danger sense would have warned her away from such actions. And yet, she was headed toward the fire now. For what reason? Well, she wasn't sure.

When she reached the site of the fire, she stopped again. And just stood there. It was a ship on fire. Lana didn't know what to do. So she stood there.

He was beginning to realize that... well, either he had a knack for simply being in the right place at the right time, or the Force was favouring him as its puppet of choice. Either way, he was fine with how things were going, but each instance was progressively more threatening to the life of the central subject - in this case, a life trapped in a burning ship - but this time, those without of the vessel were all seeking the same thing, or so it seemed. There was a distinct feeling of concern emanating off of each of the two other parties that had approached, characteristic of humanity, no matter their respective alignments in the Force.

What had he been doing on this world, in this forest? Why, meditating, of course. When the ship broke atmosphere and began hurtling towards the earth, he noted the ripple it caused in the stretch of his senses and tracked its descent, proceeding at no more than a fast-paced walk toward its calculated landing area. He had noted how it had skipped on the water and skimmed, seeming to turn slightly in the air, and impact the earth once it made land with considerably less gusto, and cease movement by way of colliding with a tree of brute size.

He came up behind [member="Lana Orion"] just as [member="Crystal"] reached the wreck as well. He glanced at the least powerful of the two, as she was closest to him.

"Well, let's not just stand here. There is a fire, and there is an abundance of water close by. The mathematics of this problem are quite simple. Water plus fire equates to....?" He clapped his hands together twice, loudly, to snap Lana out of the mesmerizing pull of the flames and into action."Now go, girl. Begin fetching water to douse the flames!"

Then he looked to the blonde, blinked, then called out.

"The more of us dedicated to the task, the faster we retrieve the individual within the vessel!"

It took no longer than a handful of minutes to reach the crash site after navigating the forest. There was already a woman standing there. She was about her own size, but with dark hair and darker skin. Curious woman, with a confused look, and a confused mind.

Not even moment later, another being arrived. A male. A powerful signature that one had, but it did not reek of the dark side. No matter. There would be time for considerations, introductions and so on later. Right now, they had a fire to deal with.

The man speaking was barking out orders at the dark haired woman, seemingly trying to snap her out of it. And then he turned his attention to her. Crystal nodded. She could take care of this problem. Elements were not so difficult to manipulate at this point in her life.

The sky above darkened and clouds formed and expanded with gathered moisture from the lake. Not long now... The easy part was over. The rain would start when the clouds were good and saturated. It wouldn't solve the problem completely, but it would keep the problem from becoming a forest fire.

With the first drop of rain, Crystal ran to the lake and into it. It was cold, but she didn't care. Standing knee deep in the water, she turned toward the ship and began to push the water with the Force into a fair sized stream.

Lana didn't even realize that there were two others nearby, as she stood mesmorized by the fire. The clapping caused her to blink and look around. There was a man ordering her to fetch water. She narrowed her eyes. Fetch water? With what? So she began to look around for something to contain water other than her hands.

The sky darkened and she looked up, mesmorized by the storm clouds forming over her head. How was that possible? It had just been sunny and clear....

She watched Crystal and wondered what power she had that made what was she was doing possible...

As those outside the ship started to fight the flames the Chiss woman started to stir inside, she was hazy and having trouble focusing on anything in front of her. She tried to get up only to get pulled back to the seat by her safety restraints. She tried to rub away the pain of the throbbing headache she was experiencing and clear her vision all at the same time.

Removing the restraints Ashra’syle’nuruodo stumbled towards the front viewport, she couldn’t see anything outside the smoke was too thick, she could however hear the sound of something constant hitting the side of the ship, she couldn’t define the sound it was all too hazy. Her emergency training started to kick in, she couldn’t stay on the ship, the life support systems would eventually fail and she would suffocate when the smoke outside started to make its way inside, if the heat of the fire didn’t overcome her first. She had to get out of the ship and to relative safety, she grabbed an emergency kit taking a small cloth out and soaking it with a little bit of water. She moved to the emergency hatch on the side of the ship she was hearing noises on, the sound was too constant to be natural, she could hear rain as well, or at least what she figured was rain hitting the top of the ship.

She struggled to remember details of what happened as she stumbled to the door, Asylen couldn’t remember where she was, how she gotten there, she knew she had been in hyperspace and suddenly wasn’t but beyond that the details kept eluding her. She tapped the release mechanism on the door with her hand briefly, it was still cool to the touch, the ships failing systems having kept the temperature normalized. She touched the door itself, it was slightly warm but cooling from what she could tell.

Placing the wet cloth over her mouth and nose she released the door mechanism and it swung open. Ashra’syle’nuruodo could see figures through the haze and smoke and what appeared to be water flowing from a nearby lake at the side of her ship keeping the flames at bay. She tried to summon the strength to get down from the inside of the ship but as she attempted it a wave of dizziness overcame her and she collapsed out the hatch towards the ground below. It wasn’t a long fall but uncontrolled as it was her best hope was that someone catch her before she hit the ground and likely injured herself more than she already was.

Ah, an elemental. It had been some time since he had encountered one with easy control over at least one facet of the elements, and though it was unexpected, it was welcome. Such an action expedited the process of dousing the flames, which in turn would move up the point at which they could deal with retrieving the individual from the pod. As the flames were beaten back, but not quite extinguished, the fire-haired man moved closer to the pod, his attention switching back to the life-form within. Still at rest...

...but then not. He blinked, edging closer and feeling the heat of the slowly dying flames the closer he got. There was movement, he could feel. Whoever - he had ascertained that it was human or near-human, as such was within the realm of his sensory ability, augmented by the expertise and particular eye that only a healer could bring - was in there was alive. It was when the hatch budged that he advanced the remainder of the way towards the pod, applying some breath control to reduce the chances of smoke inhalation, and was there just in time to see a woman, a Chiss, emerge only to lose consciousness just as he got to her. It was fortunate that he could catch her, for the trajectory at which she might have hit the ground would have caused injury to her head and spine. Carefully, he held the woman to himself and carried her away from the burning wreck.

His mind filled with queries and concerns, chief of these being: where did she come from? What was she doing this far out of Chiss space? But there would be time for that later. Right now, he would need to check her over and see in what ways she would need his medical assistance, a check he did while carrying her off, the proximity of her body to his making the assessment by way of the Force an effortless and incredibly detailed report. Once he was far enough away from the burning pod, and out of the way of the smoke, Ilias found a fairly clear patch and set her down to begin tending to any injuries she would have acquired from her hard descent, the crash, and any harm done by the smoke and fire.

As she was caught from what no doubt would have been a rough fall to the ground below Ashra’syle’nuruodo stirred a little but she didn’t wake. Her injuries were mostly superficial but she did have a couple broken ribs and a nasty gash on her forehead which was no doubt responsible for her slipping in and out of consciousness, she was likely concussed. She had inhaled a little smoke and earned a few minor burns when opening the hatch of her ship but the head wound was the obvious primary concern. She carried only a little bit of identification in her pocket but it was all in Cheunh so unless someone knew how to read her language it wouldn't provide many clues, the same was true of all the systems on board the vessel she had 'borrowed' so even once the flames were under control and the ship was safe to enter there would be very few clues to be found there. If they wanted to know about her they would have to search her mind or return her to consciousness.

The man in charge was aiding, or would try to aid the pilot of the vessel. That worked for her, since there wasn't a great deal that Crystal could for her her without causing some damage to their immediate area. But one problem at a time. She was still dealing with the fire.

As the man carried a being away from the ship, Crystal managed to extinguish the flames. There was still a great deal of smoke, but no further danger at the moment. She looked over to Lana, who seemed to be on another planet or something. The Sith Princess narrowed her eyes. The woman was very difficult to read. Her thought processes were so erratic that Crystal didn't know what to make of her. There was clearly something wrong with the woman.

"What's with you? Are you on drugs?" Crystal inquired of Lana.

[member="Ashra'syle'nuruodo"] [member="Ilias Nytrau"]

Lana was just memorized by the display that Crystal was putting on. The flames were dying thanks to the blonde woman. Her eyes then turned to the Sith, as her brain tried to process what was happening and how it was possible. And someone was speaking to her.

The dark haired woman blinked. Drugs? "Drugs?" she repeated outloud. "No. No drugs." Lana shook her head. "No drugs." She repeated.

"How?" Lana inquired. "How do you do that?"

After his examinations of the obvious superficial wounds - cranial gash, minor burns, and some scraping from her tumble... and the deeper, nonvisible troubles: two broken ribs on the left side of the ribcage and some minor smoke inhalation. To begin with, he treated her head. Judging from her erratic conscious state, he came to the conclusion that the gouge on her forehead was the outward symptom of a concussion from the crash, so he gently laid one hand to her head, over the external wound and began to work from the inside-out, first soothing and clearing off the unseen, giving rest to her rattled brain, then closing up the wound on her forehead.

Next was the smoke inhalation, which would begin to affect her mind. To help this, he sent the healing warmth of the Force to the burning in her lungs and airway from the hot, hot smoke, working with her body to bring about healing by nature, though at a faster rate, enhanced with the restorative energies of the Force. The most difficult of the physical wounds, if it could be believed, were the broken ribs, for bone by its very nature knit back together far slower on its own than any wound of flesh and blood - altogether, wounds did not heal in the same fashion, and the same was true of healing with the Force. Nonetheless, the difficulty was of an insignificant degree after nearly nine-hundred years of practical application. The rib bones soon mended, taking only a minute longer than the forehead, and the minor burns that he cared for next were dealt with in a matter of seconds for each of them.

When all was said and done, he was left with quite a thirst, a fact that brought some small amusement to his face, considering all the water that had been tossed about only so many minutes prior. He looked over his shoulder at the two women, who appeared to be having a conversation of sorts, wishing to notify them of the status of the Chiss woman, but not wishing to interrupt their discourse.

Crystal was still unclear as to what was wrong with the woman, but it mattered little now. She had witnessed Crystal using the Force and had no idea how it was possible. The dark haired woman was the perfect candidate for a trip to the Temple to join the other pod people, as a Kiffar friend of hers called them. The Princess actually smiled a little before she responded.

"It is a gift from the Gods." The Priestess replied. "They have blessed me with some of their powers. They have blessed you as well, with the opportunity to witness their might."

She could feel eyes on her. Crystal turned to look at Ilias. "She'll be alright then?" The inquiry came with a head tilt in typical Crystal fashion.

The dark haired woman was all but forgotten for the moment, as she waited for his reply.

He nodded, his eyebrows going upwards by a nigh-imperceptible measure. He tipped his head in the affirmative when the question was asked. He was somewhat curious as to why they were all here, why them in particular. What working of the Force was this? What did it intend for him to accomplish, this time? Was it simply a matter of caring for the Chiss woman? Was there something important about her, or... he regarded the blonde Sith, with a mild curiosity before answering her question.

"I have cared for her injuries, life-changing, life-threatening, and minor. Now there is only the matter of allowing her body rest, until she awakens," he affirmed, his face turning curious once more, "you have gods?"

That was of considerable interest to him. How different cultures explained things through gods and religion was something that always caught his interest, and as he aged, he found more and more that he applied tenets of their ways of life to his own, when they provided a particularly applicable explanation for something that was better than how he had considered it himself. The tribal pantheon of the world where he had spent much of his recent life had further refined his manner of daily meditations, and given a routine that buoyed him in recent centuries.

Crystal nodded. "Yes, there are ten of them in the Pantheon of Moross. I am Crystal, a Priestess of Hali the Indulgent."

That was interesting. While she was planning to convert the dark haired woman, the more powerful male was interested. Would he be buying what she was selling? Crystal would soon find out just how good a Priestess she was.

"I would be happy to tell you more of the Pantheon, but I think it would be wise to relocate ourselves first. I am staying at a property just outside of the forest." She gestured in the direction of the place. "Unless you have another suggestion, of course."

Curious. The Force had put her in some interesting situations in the past four centuries, but it seemed the strangest one yet. Perhaps some light would be shed on this situation too.

Lana repeated the blonde woman's words in her mind. A gift from the Gods. Lana was blessed? That was debateable. More like cursed, she felt. The petite woman stood there silently pondering what the Gods could possibly have blessed her with.

The conversation went on between the two strangers, but she didn't hear what they were saying until Crystal had used her name. Lana blinked and narrowed her eyes as she tried to pay closer attention to the conversation. The blonde said move. Moving she could handle. So she started in the direction that she gestured in.

Waking up slowly the Chiss woman winced as she tried to sit up, she quickly noticed she wasn’t on board her ship where she last remembered being, she also noted most of the injuries she had felt during her last bout of consciousness had been treated well beyond what she would have expected, how long had she been out. Her red eyes scanned around her surroundings, she heard voices in the background and followed their sound seeing a man kneeling over her looking off towards the source of more voices. Ashra’syle’nuruodo started to sit up trying to pull herself up cursing under her breath in her own language as pain coursed through her chest, though most of the problems had been addressed there was still some residual stiffness and soreness that would take a while to pass.

Seeing what remained of her ship smoldering on the ground she began to distrust those around her, something had brought her down and she couldn’t remember what, for all she knew one of these three had done it. Asylen’s red eyes narrowed on each in turn before she spoke in Cheunh first then tried again in Minnisiat. “What happened, what have you done to my ship? What do you intend to do with me?”

Not knowing enough basic to communicate her thoughts accurately the Chiss didn’t even try as she tried to pull herself to her feet so she could put herself into a better defendable position should these people be hostile. Ashra’syle’nuruodo waited for a response of some sort from them as her hand fell to her hip seeking her charric blaster pistol. She rested her hand on it ready to draw it any of them made the slightest hostile move towards her.

[member="Crystal"] [member="Ilias Nytrau"]

The words... he did not quite understand, but had heard enough Cheunh over the past several centuries and had picked up some words... enough to piece it together with the confusion and distrust that wafted off of her when her eyes shifted between himself, and the two other women, as she spoke. Then her hand went to the blaster at her hip. His hands went up, palms out and towards her as a feeling of calm and peace exuded from him when he addressed her.

"We are not the ones who did this," he began, voice even and consistent. He shifted his crouched form slowly to re-adjust for comfort in maintaining the pose, "You live because of our efforts."

His eyes fixed on hers.

// "You are safe. Healed. Come." // he said in words she could better understand, uncertain if she knew basic, given she had not yet shown recognition or confusion at his words. He held out a hand to her, hoping she would let him assist her in making her way to property mentioned by the blonde.

Crystal was not surprised that the Chiss was confused and suspicious of them. It’s not as though they’d actually met, or you know, spoke the same language. The male was doing his best to communicate with her, but she wasn’t sure how effective it would be. Instead, she opted to telepathically communicate with images.

First, the image of Asylen’s ship crashing, and of it burning. And of the unconscious Chiss being healed after falling out of the ship. Then the image of her rental property, and food and water.

If the words, gestures and images were not enough to comfort the Chiss, well then she wasn’t sure what would. She didn’t have a translating device with her, but she did at the house. “I have a translator at the house.”

The dark haired woman had already started up the hill, so Crystal followed after her.
