Somewhere out in the Outer Rim...
Curled up in a corner wearing her teal and black spacesuit, Brie looked up sourly at the flickering light in the brig aboard the unregistered Baleen-class heavy freighter. She had been captured and locked up by space pirates before, but this time it was different. Last time, she had not had the friends that she had now. Friends that she had gained through the great, big and crazy heart of Daiya and since being introduced to Darkwire. Hex . Her sister Ruby Jaxx. Her boyfriend Cassus Akovin . Heck, she even missed the bum of all bums Cartri Keswoll . She glanced down at the old, white space helmet; the Fishbowl, which Cartri used to call it, and laid a gloved hand on it and pulled it closer.
Through the years of being a salvager and more recently a Shadowrunner in Darkwire, she had learn to be patient, though. To find the right moment to fight back. To flee, and to be free and able to continue the search for her parents. She almost had come to accept that she would not be able to succeed with the latter. After all late those late evenings with Ruby trying to talk sense into her and comfort her in a very Ruby kind of way, which was the best way a sister could ever ask for. Soon after the capture, which included Brie's own B-29 light freighter, they had hit hyperspace so probably no one knew where to look for her. There was still a small spark of hope within the young Shadowrunner, one that had burn through worse situations.
Suddenly, the door to the brig opened with a loud hiss and a man with long filthy hair and an enamel eye entered with a tray of barely warm food. Brie side-eyed him defiantly as he approached and put the tray down by her feet.
''For a young girl, you don't look that scared... '' the pirate remarked with a toothy grin.
''I've been through worse, hutt-spawn...'' Brie snorted and looked away from the food. ''My friends are going to find me and make you regret ever capturing a Shadowrunner.'' she added.
''Oh, so I heard! You're a terrorist, aren't ya? Then we have more in common than you think...'' the pirate responded.
''I'm not a terrorist! And our cause is far far different than yours!'' Brie finished, wanting to keep the conversation as short and sparse as she could.
