Public Lost Convoys and Quick Triggers (Mandalorian)

Ships: Ranger-2 - Second Standard Squadron, 1 custom HF-3 Aran (Dagger)

Leddie sat at her Aran's controls, following Ranger-2 as they went to investigate the lose of a supply convoy and their escort. It was odd. Usually the fact there were escort ships was enough to keep the smarter ones from attacking. V-3 whirled as they exited hyperspace, the Zabrak look back at her droid.

"We'll be fine. Just keep your eyes on the scanners." She remarked, flipping a few switches. Se had replaced the heavy fighter's right side munition tubes with a narrow focus scanner. Something she could use track various things most wide range systems couldn't.

"Gotal'ur Rang this is Dagger. This is where jagyc'buir said they went missing right?" The comm lite up with the voice of Dusty, the A.I. of the Gred cruiser and Ranger-2's commander.

"Yeah. Mig Gred Mig Gred said it's where they were last reported. Stopped for mid-trip refueling. Keep your heads on a swivel people." Leddie nodded, keeping the comm open, but looking out at both scanners and out her cockpit window. It was weird though. She heard the whirls of V-3 next to her. The wasn't enough debris for even one of the Shield-class cruisers that would've been with the convoy. "This doesn't make sense." She said, hoping to pick up on something with the narrow focus scanner. Exhaust trail that didn't match, weapon remains, something. But is was only a few of the escort drone fighters. It was like they just vanished.

Laphisto was aboard the Vish'tok a Drak'iv Assault Frigate. He had gotten word of an attack by the Dusate Pirates from a couple of scouts. He had in the sector. With a small flash, the ship dropped from hyperspace, the frigate immediately began to charge shields and weapons while activating its scanners, seemingly trying to figure out what happened here. While the ship bore the sigil of the Lilaste order the ship also ran Mandalorian Protector IFF tags.

" Captain, get me a full scan on the debris field, or what's out there anyway. It seems that if the Dusate pirates are involved, they most likely captured the ships instead of destroying them. confirm first if these were really Mandalorian Protector ships that were attacked here, and if they were, then lets try and contact alor Ordo Ordo and inform him of what we find."

The sensor officer on the Gotal'ur Rang would spot frigate as it jumped into the system, quickly tapping the comm to Dusty.

"Commander. We have a new contact. Frigate. IFF and transponder are squawking Lilaste Order vessel Vish'tok. The AI would register the the call out, quickly attempting to get in contact with the ship.

"This is Dusty, captain and AI of the Gotal'ur Rang, and commander of Ranger-2 Squadron of the Gred Fleet. What brings the Lilaste Order all the way out here?" He asked, waiting for the answer.

Leddie meanwhile kept looking through her sensor sweeps. "Come on.... Where are they?" She changed a few settings before V-3 started screaming out. "What do you mean something's coming!? Kark it! Rang something's going on. Rang? Gah!" Leddie called out as she adjusted her comms. "Jammers. Frak frak frak...." She'd quickly turn the heavy fighter, kicking the engines to full burn as the upper turret was swung around by V-3. Something was definitely wrong here!

when the comms came to life with the incoming message, laphisto perked his lone ear with a raised brow, moving a crossed the bridge and heading to the holotable to communicate with the captain who was addressing his ship" this is High commander Laphisto of the Lilaste order. we are here addressing a possible pirate raid. " he thought for a moment before then speaking again, " we had some scouts in the region who reported an attack and we have come to investigate"

Laphisto gripped his chin in thought with a small frown as he thought the situation over. it was peculiar, thats for certain though he recognized the word gred, he couldnt quite place it. maybe he had heard Kebii'kara Solus Kebii'kara Solus speak the same a few times during thier operations together but he wasnt quite certain

Pirates in the area? No one mentioned that, and even then....

"I think we might be after the same thing then. A Gred convoy went missing out here. Escorts and all. We have some minor debris, but.... These pirates. Could they take a convoy with heavy escort? I'm talking mostly light arms, flak, and some drones and fighters in their hangers."

Meanwhile, Leddie continued to fly back, trying different frequencies to get past the jamming.

"Come on. Would someone just hear this!"

Laphisto Laphisto

" from our current understanding of the Dusate pirates. They don't operate under the normal confines of such a group. and they are far, far more organied. with plenty of resources to thier name. the order and these pirates have been at a stalemate war for quite some time. so they may have found some new ships and decided to test them out against your ships. and judging by the lack of debris most likely they captured them"

the Vish'tok paused at the edges of the debris field sending out several forward scanns and laphisto moved acrossed the bridge to inquire about the data before the communications officer spoke out. " sir we are picking up a strange signal within the debris field. not to sure what it is but its wavelengths are similar to communications if not heavily encrypted or suffering heavy interfearance"

turning back to teh holo projector laphisto raised a brow before speaking" do you have anyone in the debris field? any ships or scouts? my officer is pickign up a strange signal and we cannot identify it"

The AI thought for a moment, then his "eyes" widened on the holoprojection.

"Leddie! She was checking the debris up close with a narrow beam scanner. We having heard back since.... Osik! That explains the transmission cutting out!" He said, activating the intercomm and in fleet comm. "All fighters scramble! all vessels get into combat formation. I think whatever happened to the convoy's still here." He then swapped the comm back. "I hope that frigate's up for a possible fight, cause if the kid's comms are out something's wrong."

In the small debris field, Leddie was pushing the Dagger as hard as she could, hoping to get back before whatever was jamming her got into range. She didn't want to be caught out alone if whatever took out the others was still here.

laphisto frowned softly, and the bridge crew got to work, throwing the Vish'tok into a red alert and bringing all weapon batteries online. as the ship got into combat, redness "the Vish'tok and its armament are at your disposal captain. If anything comes spiraling out that isn't showing friendly IFF tags, then we will be the first to open fire"

Laphisto gripped his chin in thought with a small frown. It wasn't like the Dusate to leave behind any traces of themselves, let alone any automated droned. Then again, their arsenal seemed to be growing at an exponential rate. Which only bolstered the theory that they were being funded by some mysterious benefactor

Leddie pushed the heavy fighter to the limit, but soon would get a surprise.

“V-3. Tell me I’m seeing things. Is that one of our Toscans?” She asked as the fighter came baring down, particle cannons firing from the CST Toscan 8-R. She didn’t really have time to look back, but she knew this didn’t make sense.

Dusty meanwhile was trying to pick up what was going on on sensors.

“Something’s still blacking us…. Wait. Cameras have something. That’s…. Wait something’s not right. That’s one of ours?” He said over the open comms before another form finally slipped into a view. A Shield-class Escort Cruiser. Dusty looked over at the crew with his avatar. “ID that frakking ship! Vish’tok that’s one of our Shields. We’re seeing if we can ID her now, but she’s probably jamming everything. Could explain why they got so close. But that thing doesn’t have the firepower for an attack like this.”

Laphisto Laphisto

High Commander of the Lilaste Order
" understood captain, ill move to put the Vish'tok between her and your pilots. Should give your crew some shielding if it decides to attack."

laphisto turned to face the bridge crew " engines ahead full. put us between that ship and the rest of teh debris field. i dont want them getting sight to fire upon those pilots ." the bridge crew immediately went ahead on relaying the orders and within a moment of time the Vish'tok lurched forwards through space. Smashing into bits of debris. as it tried to put itself between the unresponsive cruiser and any pilots that may be vulnerable in teh debris field.

Leddie held tight as she pulled Dagger around. Vaux Gred Vaux Gred had helped her pick upgrades for the fighter, including microthrusters for some added agility. She swung the escort fighter around, opening up with the four particle cannons. "Got'em.... Karking!" She yelled out as more particle bolts flew past her cockpit, one slamming the upper rear atmospheric stabilizer. She winced before a GF-4 Stinger darted past, unleashing it's own burst with the deep thuds of the fighters cannons. Leddie could idea the markings. Ranger-2's Fleet CAG. "Thank the Manda! Hang on V-3." She said as she gunned the engines, trying to get some distance as a couple other fighters came in.

"Can anyone hear me? Come on, tell me I'm out of range of any jammers."

Meanwhile, Dusty looked at everything coming in.

"Bastion, this is Gotal'ur Rang. I'm just going to hope this isn't a crew gone mad." He said quickly connecting to Vish'tok. "Ok, so Shield-class. Escort cruiser like the name suggests. Light on offensive firepower but have flak batteries, jammers, and sizable hangers. We'd usually coordinate frequencies when jammers are in play. Plus her flak's cold. Like whoever's onboard doesn't know what to do with it."

laphisto gave a small snarl as the ship appeared, a brow raising as he gripped his chin in morbid curiosity. the fact that the ship hadent fired yet was peculiar if it was pirates they should have opened fire by now. that is unless as the good captain suggested they might not know what to do with thier ship. or perhaps they are suffering form some sort of inernal damage from what ever brawl was started in order to get control of the ship

opening a line to dusty once more laphisto spoke "what about a boarding party, perhaps we can regain control of your ship before they figure out how to fire on us? unless your fine with us taking out the bridge from here and letting you haul the carcus back ho- "
"Can anyone hear me? Come on, tell me I'm out of range of any jammers."

laphisto was cut off as the voice began to play over the comms with captain dusty " yes? hello this is High commander Laphisto of the Lilaste order, to whom am i speaking with?"
