Lost Stars and Dark Horizons

Grace was not having a good day.

The Galactic Alliance's slaughter on Atrisia had left her with little but her ship and a hope that she could avoid capture. Whether out of spite or in some attempt to capture her, the scutta had damaged the thrusters. While she was no mechanic, she was sure that she could get repairs somewhere between her and wherever the fleet was headed.

Ession. She had met the Dark Lord there, it made sense that they would meet up there as well. Hopefully she could make it that far without the ship dying on her. Maybe. If she was lucky. Every few seconds there would be a screech like the sound of rending metal, and she worried something was wrong with more than just the sub light engines. A worried sigh escaped her, and she stood from the pilot's chair.

You know this was a mistake.

Grace froze as the voice echoed in her brain. "You know you're dead, right?" She responded. Sometimes it seemed like her former roommate forgot that. "And even if you were right, I'm still alive." Sitting at her table, she studied the charts there. Maybe there was something close she could stop by. Hapes? No, too many questions. Onderon? They may not have the right parts. Plus, she doubted they'd sell to her.

You're not home safe yet. Tessa replied, What happens if the damage is worse than you thought?

"Than I die." The casual nature of her statement seemed to throw the spirit off. "But I don't plan on that. I'm about to run out of supplies. I can make it to Telos. From there it's a couple repairs. And if worst comes to worst, just a shuttle to Ession."

Yet another risk you're willing to take.

As the ship exited hyperspace, Grace stared down at the churning mass of clouds above blue waters down below. Looking back to the control panel, and then back to the planet, she could feel part of her spirit fall. This wasn't Telos, no matter what the Navcomputer said. there should be at least some traffic up here, not just the empty space devoid of both ship and station. Had she stumbled onto some backwater?

Looks like you broke the Navcomputer.

"Thanks,Tess. I hadn't noticed." With an eye roll, the woman started to bring the ship towards the planet, aiming as best she could to arrive near to one of the cities. Maybe she could get some help.

As the ship made a somewhat rough landing she sighed, standing from the seat and heading towards the exit ramp. The sensors showed a group of lifeforms nearby, but she wasn't sure she could trust it. Still, she carried what she had for weapons. The blaster strapped to her hip was less of a comfort than the metal cylinder on her belt. With a small smile, she stepped onto the soil of this new world.

The planet of Merides was rather isolated, not much showed up, and despite it being near a major trade route, was practically unknown, a testamant to the size of the galaxy, so some metal box flying through the sky was a rather strange occurrence on the small, backwater world, but today was one of those days. Peasants looked up as the ship fell out of the sky, some screamed, some silently gazed, others were astonished. They had never seen anything like it in their life, many urged their children into their homes, in hopes of protecting them from whatever had just arrived.

While most made their way away from the site, it was the duty of the knights to go towards it. Alyson was in the area, she was doing he normal rounds, and this ship gave her something interesting to do. She was hired by the local lord to police his Fief, and it bored her greatly, but the pay was good, and it allowed her to rest up for her next deployment. But today was spiced up by the arival of this ship, allowed her to take her mind off of the boredom of this police work, and she was close enough that she knew she was going to be the only one there for quite awhile, as she was the only knight out in that region at the time. She was already on her horse, so she just set it on its way to the landing site, hoping to catch whoever was there before they took off to wherever.

The horse was pushed into a sprint, Alyson could only think of what kind of strange people would be flying some sort of ship through this system, they must be quite the character if they both knew about this place and decided to land here. Or possibly their vessel had malfunctioned, they arrived here by complete accident, whatever the case was, she needed to find this person to get the whole story, and try to help them any way she could. While she knew that there were other planets in the galaxy, she had never seen an actual vessel from another star system, it was quite the exciting experience.

The horse moved like the wind, it ran as far as she wished, within a few minutes she was at the "Crash Site" which after looking at it didn't seem like much of a crash, but more like a hard landing, sparks flew occassionally from a few exposed panels, but otherwise the ship looked rather intact. Outside the vessel, walking off the ramp, was a woman, looked rather young, about her age if not slightly older, looked rather human, but there were a few things off, looked a bit more slender, but otherwise normal.

She slowed down her horse in order to meet the woman as she stepped off the ramp, the horse stopped as ordered, and as Alyson hopped off her horse, which responded with a neigh, as if saying "be careful", she needed no such advice from a horse, she learned that the hard way many years ago.

"Salve... Hello! I saw your vessel of sorts come down in a rather uncontrolled manner, i was wondering if you needed any assistance, if you do i would be happy to provide it." She said.

Alyson felt strange around the woman, it felt dark, cold, she couldn't put her finger on it, but she felt that she would have to be careful around this person.

Almost as soon as she stepped off the ship, the smell of manure washed over Grace, a wave of nausea striking her. Compared to the smell of her ship, it felt like walking into a tuk'ata infested tomb filled with rotting victims. Now that was a smell she never wanted to experience again. Scanning her surroundings, she spotted the lone rider, their silhouette on the horizon outlined by the bright blue backdrop of the clean sky. So the world wasn't polluted as much as she was used to. That probably meant there wasn't a civilization capable of space travel. Well, crap.

As the rider dismounted and approached, one of the first familiar feelings washed over, the sensation rippling through her like a wave. This figure was a Force user. Most than likely a shaman of some sort, or some other magical tradition. Most on these sorts of worlds viewed the Force as such. When the figure, who seemed to greet her first in a tongue the Vahla felt like she should recognize before switching to basic. So they understood basic. Good. That made life much easier.

Motioning to the engine block on the back of the ship she nodded. "Something happened to the sublight engines." Her words, no doubt lost on the native, were as much a list to herself as explaining what went wrong. "Managed to make it here. Think the Navicomputer went wrong somewhere along the like, because I was trying to get to Telos," a small, tired frown crossed her face. "But i figure this isn't it." She shook her head, looking over the Force user in front of her. "Can you tell me where I am?"

Telos? She had never heard of the place, but to be completly honest she had never heard of any place outside of Merides, it was a small world, not much connection to the outside. All that Alyson knew is that whoever this person was was a long way from this small insignificant rock.

"I dont know where this Telos is your talking about, but its a long way from here." She said "Your on a small little world known as Merides, we dont see this kind of event often. Nobles like me are used to it, we hear and learn about people like you, the peasants are often not so well informed. I recommend you gather your belongings and lock up your ship, soon the Peasants will be all over it, they often see things like this as acts of The Lord himself, so it might become a prayer site or something. I can get you into town and a place to stay, and i will try to help you get your ship repaired in any way i can, but i can tell you one thing, your gonna be stuck here awhile, advanced parts like those in your ship are rather difficult to come by to say the least." She said

"Now i can get you a place to stay in town while you get figure out what you want to do, i can help you get your bearings on this planet and help you locate replacement parts, but as i said before, it will be difficult. Now if you need a ride into town, i have my horse over there." She said mounting the horse she had dismounted.

"Now you could not accept my help, but then you would be lost on an alien world with no knowledge of the people or the various forms of complex geopolitics that are always at play here, so i have to reccomend you do. Names Alyson by the way."
