- Compact: The FireJet is a mechanically simple weapon which does not much room for its operating system. Combined with a small ammunition capacity, it is quite light and compact, making it easy for the wearer to move his or her arms, as well as making it simple to conceal or integrate into personal armors.
- Mechanical Operation: The FireJet operates purely on mechanical principles, using valves, levers, a friction igniter, and springs to operate. Because of this nature, it is unaffected by ion, EMP, or tech-deadening effects in its base form.
- Modular Trigger system: FireJet by default has a trigger that's activated by pulling a ring that's worn on a finger, convenient for use in its gauntlet or underbarrel weapon form. However, it does have a space specifically set up within the body of the gauntlet itself to allow it to be integrated with an electronic trigger for use in battle armors or droids.
- Combustion Mixture: Unlike many flamethrowers, FireJet uses FireJet uses a mixture of a Conflagrine-14 solvent and Plasticene Thermite gel solute to achieve optimal incendiary effects. The Conflagrine-14 easily ignites with the friction igniter and and with an excellent range while the plasticene thermite gel (once ignited) burns up to 5000 degrees centigrade and sticks to the target, causing it to burn through many materials and deep into flesh.
- Powerful: The FireJet is a weapon of simple power, forcefully and quickly pushing out a large amount of flaming liquid Conflagrine/Plasticene Gel on its targets. Not only can it burn at extremely high temperatures, but it also sticks to the target.
- Limited Ammunition: The FireJet achieves its power by quickly projecting large amounts of incendiary fluid, meaning that it can quickly drain the weapon's canister.
The Bryn'adul threat spun Lucerne Personal Defense's research department into a flurry of activity, spawning numerous projects, which necessitated taking on more staff. One of those staff members was a mandalorian refugee from Clan Deshra escaping the purge of his kind by the Sith Empire. After designing the IceJet, this designer turned his attention to making a similar flame projector. Many of the base design elements of the IceJet were easily adapted to this new weapon, but the materials had to completely change in order to meet the excessive heat produced by flame projectors. To that end, the FireJet uses a high-temperature resistant duravlex frame to protect the user from its contents while many of the actual internal components use dallorian alloy to withstand the intense heat the weapon can produce. As with the IceJet, a follow-up team of designers further revised the weapon, but largely kept the simple but reliable mechanical mechanisms of the design in order to improve its resistance to ion/EMP and similar technologies. However, they did do some minor redesigning to allow it to use a electrical based trigger for easier integration into personal armors and droids.
The resulting weapon is relatively powerful for its small size, but it only has a range of a few dozen meters and a very limited ammunition capacity before it needs a new fuel cartridge. Given these limitations, Lucerne Personal Defense mainly markets the FireJet as a back-up weapon for individuals or as an integrated droid weapon. It's relatively small size, light weight and bracer configuration makes it a relatively convenient and unintrusive weapon for such as a purpose, while its relatively high power hopefully should provide its user with sufficient stopping power against susceptible threats. Lucerne Personal Defense is also beginning to incorporate the weapon in several of its upcoming battle armor designs, true to the heritage of its original mandalorian creator.
