- Tactical Programming - LT-series Tactical Droids possess a full tactical and strategic programming suite, enabling them to serve capably as field officers amongst the ranks of Darth Xyrah's droid army. They can handle a great amount of tactical data, enabling them to adequately respond to changing circumstances upon the field of battle without suffering any confusion.
- Self Defense Capability - While not intended for direct combat, LT-series Tactical Droids never the less possess standard combat programming equal to that of an SB-1 Battle Droid should they need to protect themselves. Their chassis are also reinforced to grant them extra protection should they be targetted by enemy troops.
- Vulnerable to Ion Weaponry - Like most droids, LT-series Tactical Droids are vulnerable to ion weaponry, as most mechanical beings are.
During the development of Darth Xyrah's ever expanding droid army, it was noted that there was not a specialized design built to serve as field officers. While SB-1 Battle Droids could relay orders from high command to their fellows, they weren't well suited to formulating strategies of their own. As such, Darth Xyrah developed the LT-series Tactical Droid, a revival of the T-series Tactical Droid once used by the original CIS for such a role.
LT-series Tactical Droids make for capable officers up to the rank of commander, and are able to handle a large amount of tactical data at once, enabling them to quickly respond and react to changing battlefield circumstances while relaying data to high command.
