Designed by Lucas during his time as an acolyte, this lightsaber was designed from rough, scrappy parts and crystals that were salvaged from weapons of the fallen and cracked, meaning that they formed unstable blades when inserted into Lucas' own lightsaber. However, instead of correcting this, Lucas decided to run with it as he thought it looked impressive to have a blade sparking and cracking during combat.
Lucas designed a very standard lightsaber, capable of dual-phase abilities and operating underwater. It's main function was to kill, and so Lucas didn't feel the need for anything flashier than what he added. Due to this, his lightsaber is very bare and designed only to kill it's next target. The hidden activator switch was the only true luxury Lucas awarded himself as everything else is pretty standard on most lightsabers.
The lightsaber itself is designed with dueling in mind, as Lucas thinks of himself as an exceptional duelist. He designed and built his weapon around lightsaber to lightsaber combat, but it can also serve well in lightsaber to blaster combat. The only place this weapon is entirely useless is hand to hand, as you can't really hit anyone with a lightsaber hilt.
The blade itself is Red, due to the synthetic crystals imbued with the Dark Side. The actual blade spits (quite similar to Kylo Ren's here) which can and does cause damage to both wielder and enemy (target, victim). Lucas enjoys this feature due to his own high pain tolerance and the fact his lightsaber has an "extra damage" feature for people that they won't expect.
