STRENGTHS
- Overwhelming: Designed to be a mobile fortress, the carrier sports immensely powerful weaponry for both orbital and space combat.
- Carrier: The Lucrehulk trades defenses for enormous hangars to accommodate vast amounts of fighters and support craft.
- Management: Featuring an automated management system and an artificial intelligence, the ship allows for minimal crew in order to function effectively.
- Detachable: The command sphere can detach from the main body for planetary operations, allowing the most important part of the ship to still operate effectively.
WEAKNESSES
- Slow: As is typical with such big capital ships, the Lucrehulk-class suffers from low sublight speeds and sluggish maneuvering.
- Defenses: Most of the emphasis was placed on hangar space and firepower, leaving the carrier’s defensive measures somewhat lacking in comparison.
- Command: While able to separate, damaging or destroying the command sphere can seriously cripple or even destroy the rest of the vessel.
- Vulnerable: While still a powerhouse on its own, the Lucrehulk can rather easily be overwhelmed at a close enough range.
DESCRIPTION
Operating at the edges of a logistical line can be challenging and incredibly risky. Losing the line of support can mean the difference of life or death for troops operating in the far reaches of Confederate space.
The solution was to build a vessel that can operate as a mobile command center and supply depot for fleets on long and dangerous missions. It didn’t take long to look into the past for a perfect fit for a ship such as this.
The Lucrehulk-class is a legendary vessel that has solidified its reputation as a formidable foe on the galactic scale, capable of blockading planets and holding off fleets on its own. However that is not the intended role. As a carrier, the Lucrehulk is the lifeline of an operation, meant to ensure that support will not be interrupted, no matter how far a mission goes or how dangerous it gets.
