PERSONALITY

To describe Lugus in one word, 'boisterous' would be the best word for the job. Despite the fact he didn't have a lot of friend as a child, He has never been shy. He strives to see the good in every bad situation and to make people laugh when they are at their lowest. Since he was bullied as a child he doesn't let disappointment get him down. He developed a lack of shame as well messing up or knocking something over doesn't embarrass him. Instead he makes a joke out of the embarrassing moments even if it's at his own expense.

BIOGRAPHY​

When asked about his life, he starts with his parents and how they wanted two kids. A boy and a girl. In his opinion, he was doomed from the beginning with the first breath he took. When the doctor held up their second child and said, "Congratulations on another baby BOY!" They already had their son. They were expecting their daughter now. That was what they were wanting after all, so of course, they didn't have a name picked out for another boy. The only name that came to their heads was Jek Porkins after their famous ancestor who died during the Battle of Yavin about 800 or such years prior. The name stayed prominently in the family for the most part. His name could have been Jek. JEK. But his parents decided that, if he had such a namesake for his first name, he would try too hard to live up to his name and get himself killed. Instead, they let the nurse give him a first name: Lugus.

Lugus Jek Tono Porkins. Because he wouldn’t try to live up to a middle name. Growing up on the aquacultural planet of Bestine IV, the other younglings would make a hacking noise then pretend to spit as Lugus walked past them. They called it hocking a Lugus. Of course this was always before or after they started grunting or oinking like pigs or filling their checks with air to mimic the chubby little boy. Their teasing hurt, but Lugus never let them know that. He would put on a brave face as he walked by them. The trick was to embrace their bullying, joining them even and making fun of himself as well. Laughing with them instead of thinking of it as them just laughing at him made it easier on Lugus in the long run.

Living on a planet made mostly of the ocean, his family lived on a floating city similar to Ahto City on Manaan. The only time he saw dry land was when his family took a trip to one of the islands. After nearly drowning in the ocean when he was younger he grew to hate the ocean and love sand staying on the beach making semi-elaborate sand sculptures while the rest of his family swam or sunned. As they got older, their father also taught them how to wield a blaster and shoot fruit out of the trees. Another family activity shared was hunting sink crabs among the island. This is when he first learned how to be a pilot while racing speeders with his siblings as they hunted crabs. This is also when he learned how much he loved food, especially sink crabs and other seafood.

His father worked at one of the many floating shipyard on the ocean surface building a variety ships. When he got off from that job he came home to his own droid repair shop. The droid shop didn’t get much business, but droids were a passion that Lugus’ father had. He even had a collection of old droids. T3-series utility droids, one of every kind of R-Series Astromech, even one of the first made BD-3000(which by his mother’s command wasn’t allowed out of the droid shop or to even be turned on.) His father often pushed his love of droids on Lugus and his siblings when he needed help in the shop. Lugus would help mainly to get a closer relationship with his father.

Where his brother and sister found things that they were good at and enjoyed, Lugus spent his youth in a search for something he could be good at. His father didn’t approve of most of the useless skills he learned, so Lugus funded his own projects by doing odd jobs and working on droids in his dad’s shop. The main thing Lugus wanted to do was entertain people so he learned things like close up magic, singing, dancing, stand up comedy, playing the lute-pipe. He jumped between so many different hobbies that he only became good at a few. One of the few that he kept the whole time was racing speeders. Most of the races took place over the ocean so he didn’t enter many races. Still he developed such a rush for racing that it prompted him to learn how to pilot ships as well.

When he was old enough, he planned to join the Galactic Republic’s military much to his father’s displeasure. Both his mother and his father begged him to continue his education rather than throw his life away as a pilot in the military. His father finally made him a deal: if Lugus got at least a masters degree in engineering then he wouldn’t mention another word about Lugus’ career choice. Lugus took the deal working at the same shipyard as his father to pay for his schooling at the university level. His father thought after he completed the degree Lugus would use it to get a job that would put his knowledge to use, but even after his hard work to get the degree, he still joined the republic military and navy. His father kept his end of the deal by choosing to never speak to Lugus again.

Lugus finally found a passion for himself: Defending the galaxy and those unable to defend themselves…​
