Born into a noble Mirialan family, Lyra was set to have a bright future ahead of her had she not been born during a period of rule under the Sith Empire which would taint her life. Her father remained loyal to the Empire out of fear for his family and as such was allowed to keep his wealth and retain some freedom above that of other citizens.
Shortly after her birth, her mother used her connections to smuggle her daughter off-world to be raised by a friend in the core. Her plan had been successful but not without its cost as her family were stripped of their wealth and sentenced to hard labour after being betrayed by an informant for the Empire.
Despite a rocky start, she had a relatively normal upbringing, raised by her mother's friend, a diplomat who pushed her adoptive daughter towards the Jedi Order when her Force sensitivity became apparent. Lyra quickly became enthralled with the Jedi Order, given her own history, and soon became an avid learner of the Jedi and their cause.

~ Cares deeply: Has a strong sense of attachment to those she cares about and is both loyal to and protective of them, even to her own detriment.
~ Perseverance: Her determination can aid her ability to complete tasks but it also means she has difficulty in choosing when to stop.
- Independent: Her self-dependence can lead to her butting heads as she is not always the best team-player but she acts with the best interests at heart.
- Consequentialist: She is often under the belief that the outcome can justify the means which can lead to some questionable choices.
