Strengths:
The Classic M-68 Landspeeder, an old popular model of race enthusiasts from the days of the first Galactic Empire. Laira’s custom model has been based heavily around the original Mobquet unit and heavily refurbishing and rebuilding the engine models into a much more powerful set rather than focus on weaponry or heavy defenses.
The original turbine engines were replaced with heavily boosted turbofans capable of afterburning to increase their acceleration and allow the vessel to supercruise at supersonic speeds with relative ease. The Afterburners are most useful in short bursts to build up to speed, but can be utilized to keep pace with even some atmosphere bound starcraft. The Repulsorlift engine itself was rebuilt with a 6,162 cc overcharged powertrain engine with variable valve timing and improved intake systems. The craft is now able to alter its maximum altitude, and can operate for as an airspeeder with its rebuilt engines, though it has the best performance close to the ground. To compensate for the increased speed, maneuvering vanes and rotating engine nozzles allows the main turbofan engines to turn the vehicle, allowing a pilot to make snap turns at speed.
For defenses, a simple Speeder based chaff launcher and caltrop dispenser were built into the back of the craft on the odd chance it was ever found with armed pursuers it was unable to outrun. The M-68 Custom features a Two + Two seating arrangement with a small, often overlooked back bench seat which is uncomfortable for adult passengers, and a cargo rack behind the cockpit.
