  • Alternate Firing Mode: Much like its predecessor, the M-902 boasts a powerful firing mode designed to expend excess heat in an explosive blast. Once the blaster has reached its maximum heat capacity, it must either cool like many other standard gas-fed blasters, or it can be charged up to expend heat energy using an alternate firing mode. A simple switch located next to the trigger can adjust whether the weapon is firing blaster bolts from a gas canister, or a charged blast from an overheated power cell.

  • Big Iron: The M-902 is small enough to fit into a holster, light enough to outdraw a heavy blaster pistol, but just weighty enough to feel like you've got something more than a peashooter in your hand.
  • Nothing Too Fancy: While certainly not a mass-produced blaster, the M-902 is not exactly difficult to produce either. Most Miyuki facilities possess the means to manufacture Ardent Defenders, and trade partners with the schematics and reproduction rights have little difficulty either.

  • Like a Mule: Even a well-trained muscleman would struggle to keep a steady aim after firing the M-902’s charged blast.
  • Cool Your Jets: The M-902 must first build up a high level of heat before it can expend that energy in the form of a charged blast, and then must cool back down before being able to fire in its standard mode again.
  • All Lethal: To accommodate for its charged blast firing mode, the M-902 lacks an integrated stun setting, reducing the user's capacity of non-lethally subduing targets without injuring them.

The M-902 Ardent Defender is one of the Miyuki Trade League’s more ambitious projects since the turn of the century. With the rise of neo-Imperial superpowers surrounding Wild Space, MTL returned to their roots to create a new rendition of an iconic Rebel Alliance weapon.
