Growing up a slave, life was always hard for Mae. She was owned, along with her mother and brother, by a technology broker in the outer rim. He traveled planet to planet buying old and broken down equipment and fixing them up before selling it on the next world. Through this process, Mae, and her brother Jake, learned the trade and love for repairing broken technology. Their mother served as pilot and personal servant to their master.
Just as Mae was starting to get joy in her life and learn how to be a pilot herself, she was sold at the age of 16 to a new master. She was sold due to a lack of profits in the past year and to settle some debt by her previous owner. This was the last time that she ever saw her mother and brother, alive.
Her new master used her as a techy on his ship far from the cockpit where she constantly dreamed of returning. He at least, knew how to keep his hands to himself until she had reached legal age at which time he tried to marry her. However, when she refused, her path became a dark one for many months there after.
One night, Mae had a very realistic dream of her mother and brother being harmed. She begged her master to make contact with them. When he gave in to her begging and got what he wanted, he made contact. The two ships agreed to meet. When their ship arrived at the arranged meeting spot. They found that another ship had already docked with her mothers ship. They docked on the other side and found that it was in fact pirates, and blood thirsty ones at that. At the sight of her mother and brothers mangled bodies, Mae entered a blood and force driven frenzy in which she not only killed the crew of the pirates but also her master too.
Now alone, Mae took the more valuable ship as her own and towed the other two back to the nearest spaceport to sell, after dumping all the bodies into space of course. She now sits on a stool at the spaceport with nothing to live for and in a shock of what her life has become.

Mae seems shy and will keep to herself until she trusts someone enough to speak. When she does speak, she will freely speak her mind.
She hates it when her size comes into question as a weakness. Yes, she may not be able to beat many in a physical fight or carry a lot of weight, but she will beat most with her sharp wit and cunning intellectual skills.
She still has a love for repairing old tech like battle droids and while not in the cockpit or working, she would be found tinkering on a droid somewhere.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Tiny Elite were not always named so. They had very little combat experience leading up to joining Mae's crew. They were all like minded Zilkins out to prove their worth to the galaxy. They ran their own ship for a few years to build unity and cohesion. Their previous work was only in their local system running supplies, but Marcus, their leader, constantly ran them through battle and what if drills to prepare them for future situations and roles.

Mae has been hunting for the right fit for her personal transport for a while now. She was unaware of it at the time, but all she needed was the right crew, and then the right ship would fall in line. Once Mae found the Tiny Elite, she knew that she needed a ship that would capitalize on their size. Then, the idea hit her, why not design a starfighter around the Zilkin Crew. Make a larger corvette type ship for them while still maintaining a starfighter size for her. She took her idea to Scarlett industries, along with a large bag of credits, and the plan was set. Along the way, Mae added a new tech developed by Scarlett Industries that syphoned the power of Kyber Crystals into power cells and because the tech had to be operated manually and not by droids, it fit perfectly with the Zilkin Crew.
