STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
+ Lightsaber Combat: Maerae is an accomplished duelist, and is difficult to best in melee combat.
+ Djem So: An alteration of the fifth classical lightsaber form, developed for the purpose of lightsaber-to-lightsaber combat. Of all the forms, this is the one Maerae knows best.
+ Juyo: A lightsaber form favored by the Sith for it's vicious aggression. Though it isn't her most proficient form, this is the form Maerae utilizes the most.
+ Charismatic: Despite her blade skills, Maerae prefers to talk things out, before they get messy.
+ Intellectual: Maerae is quite intelligent, even by the standards of the Jedi. She's practically an encyclopedia of knowledge, though she doesn't have any experience applying that knowledge.
- Underdeveloped Force Manipulation: Maerae dedicated her training time to mastering the use of a lightsaber, and as a result, her ability to command the Force is rather lacking.
- Poor Pilot: When needing to travel, Maerae tends to take public transport. She has very little experience with piloting craft of any kind.
- Prone to Anger: Maerae is quick to rely on the power of her anger. Anger may make a Sith strong, but it also has a tendency to blind them to their surroundings.
APPEARANCE:
Maerae stands at 5'8" with a lithe build of toned muscle. Her black hair trails down past her shoulders, and she usually keeps it loose to conceal her face. Her eyes are a light shade of blue; a contrast from the insidious yellow eyes of most Sith.
BIOGRAPHY:
Maerae was born on the planet of Telos, but was very quickly taken to Korriban once it was discovered that she was Force Sensitive. For most of her life, Maerae was stuck on the dusty planet, learning the ways of the Sith. Though initially disgusted with the mindset of the Sith Lords, over her many years of training, she grew numb to the wanton slaughter of the Dark Force wielders.
Maerae progressed quickly in her combat training, under a Sith by the name of Tyruk. Though a wholesomely loathsome man, he was a master of lightsaber combat, and he trained Maerae in every form, to varying degrees. He preferred to employ Juyo, but insisted that Maerae develop her Djem So to the fullest. Maerae didn't know it at the time, but the man actually feared her power, and was reluctant to teach her the more aggressive of the lightsaber forms, lest she turn on him one day.
And turn on him she did. Like most Sith do, Tyruk found his end at the hands of his apprentice. Soon after receiving her lightsaber, Maerae ambushed her master with the intent of slaying him, in accordance with the Sith philosophy. During this duel, Tyruk destroyed Maerae's first lightsaber, damaging the crystal in the process. Through a measure of skill and luck, Maerae managed to snatch Tyruk's lightsaber from him, and used it to kill the Sith.
She then promptly threw up, shaken by what she had just done. Though she'd grown up hearing of and seeing the atrocities of the Sith, she'd never committed anything so insidious herself. Rightfully fearing what the Sith would do, should they learn of her weak spirit, Maerae booked passage off of Korriban, and out of Sith Empire space.
And so she continues to flee.

Maerae's Lightsaber: Her former master's lightsaber, which she appropriated after she slew him. Laid within the hilt is a damaged, synthetic red crystal, which she removed from her destroyed lightsaber. The lightsaber blade sputters and crackles with unstable energy.
