PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

Learning early within the employ of Xazzah to hide her strength and remain vigilant, Magent’s lack of defined values would take years to unravel.

Her morality most likely became gray when she sold out her fellow servants to gain the upper hand with her master. Her mind remains a twisted labyrinth of half-truths and carefully-constructed perceptions, so much so that she is no longer sure of her original intentions beyond her own survival.

What does remain is a fiercely competitive streak, one that was present within her even as a child first arriving on Khofar. Her drive allowed her to ascend to the rank of Xazzah’s favorite, though internally it cost her a fortune.

Strengths
Something of a chameleon, Magent has mastered the art of lying. Due to the ever-shifting alliances and motivations of those who gather among the Hutts and their organizations, she has learned to become as fluid as water. Often posing as mild-mannered and restrained, she has gathered intel on other servants or even rival Hutt lords, and reported her findings to her own master, Xazzah the Hutt. However, where her true motivations lie is a mystery.

Another strength would be the unique privileges she has garnered as Xazzah’s favorite. While other slaves are not allowed to leave Khofar or have credits, she is often granted leave when she is not needed at the palace, which is very often, as she has set up a team of carefully-plucked servants to keep things in order and report back to her when she returns from her trips - which often include minor betrayals and dealings against Xazzah himself.

Weaknesses
One does not typically achieve appearing harmless without the physical implication of weakness as well. Although she is nimble she is also quite small-framed and wispy.

Another weakness would be her actual social status. Although within Xazzah’s palace walls her words would carry weight and seize the Hutt’s ear, to other Hutts she would appear as a glorified slave, but still a slave, no less. Therefore she must tread carefully and continue to play up her weaknesses….to continue a fabrication that has allowed her to move in close and gather intel.

HISTORY

Brought to the palace of the feared Xazzah the Hutt as an infant, it is assumed that Magent was born on Ryloth just before her parents found work clearing forest for Xazzah on Khofar. At that time his great temple was still in construction, and he tricked a great many people into living their homeworlds to come and help him set up a palace getaway within the vast forests and jungles, which took many years to clear.

During that time Xazzah’s workers relied on him for daily resources and living expenses, and most if not all acquired debts that outpaced their meager salaries. This included Magent’s parents, who often labored during the day with her strapped into a backpack on their backs.

Knowing she would be safer within the palace, Maven’s mother did hand her over when at last it was constructed, while they continued to work in the wilderness. Of course, this was done with many children, so she had others to play with and learn from within the vast palace itself.

It was not long before Xazzah needed more resources to continue expanding his jungle playground, however. Realizing he could earn more through slavery, he sold many of his workers to other Hutt lords and replaced them with cheaper labor. Among those first sold were Magent’s parents, a deal that was very traumatic.

It was then that she learned the dangerous environment in which she lived: a teetering seesaw that saw many slaves lose either their roles or even their lives based on the daily whims of a Hutt and his pocketbook.

Such a dark discovery wold change anyone, and for Magent she learned to simply survive. That often meant dealing in information as if it were currency….bending the truth here, withholding a fact there. Carefully she spent years climbing the unspoken social hierarchy within Xazzah’s walls, until she was high up enough to speak directly into his ear, and earned his trust by reporting the activities of the very children and friends she had grown up with.

Actions like those would change anyone, from the inside out. Now that she has claimed the spot as Xazzah’s favorite, familiarity has festered to contempt, for the Hutt and his preponderance of riches….and perhaps even a little self-loathing.
