Magic The Gathering players?

Sooooo i have a burn deck here that is pretty good, and i was needing it to have a little more of an upper hand in a duel, does anyone know if red/black is better than mono red?

well, im going for a burn deck, as much damage as fast as i can deal. usually by round 4 i have my opponents life total halved. I was just wondering if red/black would go well. a mono red burn can be hard to beat

Even though you already know my deck [member="Sciith Markorn"] seeing how we play all the time, others do not. I have a B/U mill deck.

In my day....

My best is my white-equipment deck, but my favorite is my more recent Blue-Green Simic deck since I used to use blue and green the least. It's always fun to make a deck around colors you don't normally use :)

As for going black and red, as others have said if burns are your main shtick then I would stick with just red. If you add black you can make for some interesting synergy, but it requires more tinkering. Except Rakdos...

All you do is blatantly attack :p

mill is op. nuff said
Mill is generally an ineffective strategy.

Think of it this way. Normally your goal is to bring your opponent's life from 20 to 0. Mill makes it so that your opponent's deck becomes like their life total. Now you have to bring them from 60 to 0. This requires your deck to be filled with cards dedicated solely to milling your opponent out, leaving very little room for answers if your opponent gets something to stick on the table. Mill is slow and clunky. What happens if your opponent lands a creature or two in the first few turns of the game? If you can't find an answer, your opponent will probably hit you with lethal damage before you can bin their deck.

My deck is one of the main reasons why he has an elixir of immortality in it. Usually he can take me out before he even needs though.

If you like to be a griefer and make people throw away cards (mill is one of those decks people generally hate playing against, even if they win) why not build a dedicated discard deck? It's a little more effective than mill and will still give you the satisfaction of pissing off your opponents... if that's the kind of thing you're into.

alright, my deck is

x20 mountain

x4 fire servant

x4 lightning bolt

x4 flame rift

x4 lava spike

x4 flame javelin

x3 incinerate

x2 font of ire

x2 breaking point

x2 elixir of immortality (anti-mill)

x2 searing blaze

x3 guttersnipe

x1 stoke the flame

x1 fireball

x1 chandra ablaze

x1 chandra pyromaster

x1 koth of the hammer
