PHYSICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Compound
  • Weight: Light
  • Colour: Matt Charcoal Grey
  • Materials: AlloyPlast (60%), Zinc Sulfide (20%) and Polyvinyl Acetate (20%)
  • Modularity: Yes. MRC is a malleable paste during application so it can be shaped to fit any surface, however applying it to spheres or concave surfaces would be difficult. Dyes can be added to MRC to change its colour.
  • Resistances:
    • Energy/Plasmatic: Average
    • Kinetic: Average
    • Lightsaber: Low
    • Disruptor: Low
    • Environmental: Low

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Textured pattern that changes light reflection slightly due to its rough surface, which results in unpredicable minor changes to visibility.
STRENGTHS
  • Anti-magnetic effect on coated objects by increasing the distance between the coated object and magnetostatic fields. While this does not make the coated object immune to magnetic traction boots or magnetic mines, it does greatly increase the required magnetic strength.
  • Sensor disruption caused by the irregular texture can scatter some high-frequency short-range scanning frequencies, resulting in less accurate readings.
WEAKNESSES
  • High maintenance as the coating degrades over time which will require reapplication. The rate of degradation is greatly increased by rentry at high speeds.
  • Atmospheric drag caused by the rough texture will impact the performance of vehicles and starships while in atmosphere.
DESCRIPTION
Magnetic Repulsion Compound or MRC is an anti-magnetic paste that is designed to be applied to vehicles and starships by using combs to shape grooved or ridged patterns in the MRC before it hardens. The patterns increase the anti-magnetic effect by pushing the MRC further away from the coated object. MRC is designed to adhere to a wide range of materials including, metal, ceramics, concrete, and fibreglass but will not adhere to glass or carbon fibre composites.

MRC was designed by Tygeria Dragon Armaments as an anti-magnetic coating for their starships due to concerns with boarding actions. MRC has been made available to purchase for others within the Eternal Empire.
