PLA-CORR Coating and Finish - 50% Anti-Corr | 50% Plasteel
- Triple Maglock: Heel and Two Side maglocks using powerful magnets. This isn't moving unless you move your foot or your leg comes off. Holding you in place for high-speed re-entry should you require it, or if you are an adrenaline junkie looking for a thrill.
- Emergency Release: A three-digit press and hold for five seconds on the side of each attached boot, will turn off the magnet. In the case of a rare unit failure or a severe leg injury, an emergency maglock release is possible, requiring a voice-activated five-digit code. The emergency release will disable all three maglocks. An optional step further is to add the word release afterward, which will remove the entire boot from your foot as well. Not a good idea without armor while in space!
- Thick and Sturdy: Nobody is shooting or cutting your boots off easily. They are made out of either Duranium which is a hardy metal, or for inbuilt applications whatever the armor or droid is made out of.
- Fitting: Fits over most armors snugly, can be used without any armor, or built into suits of it. Suitable for many types of droids that walk or crawl too.
- Comfort: As important as any killing machine, the Magomatic boot line is fitted with superior comfort and lining. There is weight here certainly, but when worn as the primary foot piece, it is always comfortable.
- Finish: PLA-CORR Coating and Finish - 50% Anti-Corr and 50% Plasteel. Offering superior resistance to weathering the natural elements, scratch resistance and keeping a shine.
- Not Coming off: Triple Maglock. These boots are not coming off easily.
- Easy to Get On: You can seal these around your armor or your feet in seconds, there are holovideos of people jumping into them, to clip them into place. Though toes were likely broken in the attempt.
- Duranium Material If worn outside of armor, thick Duranium is nothing to take lightly. This isn't a weak spot to shoot at for most people, you are best off aiming above it. If built into the armor or droid itself rather than clipped to it, the boot will be using that external material instead.
- No Power The basic boot uses almost zero power., entirely operated by the user's own movement. Only the voice-activated release uses any power at all, giving the battery life of these boots before needing recharge months if not more.
- Extra Weight: Wearing two boot-stomping monstrosities on your feet weighs you down. They are not lead bricks, and you can still kick in them, but running a distance would test your endurance. Intentionally they designed to have some weight, so to keep your steps deliberate, and you attached to the side of a hull.
- Hand to Hand Combat. Martial arts in these boots are difficult, as your foot's agility is impacted. Boxing would probably still work, kickboxing not so much.
- Hard to Get Off: Getting out of these boots takes a minute, they are very securely locked in place, and not easily removed, to prevent it from happening in combat, also allowing a good grip on any armor it is fitted to.
- Foot Covering. A consideration for armors that use foot-powered propulsion or other devices to move faster, is that these boots will be over the top of it.
Coming in white, black, red, gold or brown, they can also be painted the color of any armor they are fitted in. The bulky and well-armored magboot uses three high grip magnets to lock the wearer in place no matter what they are facing. This has proven useful to their clients in high-speed chases, train robberies, ship heists and more. Most of the client's FFE serve have their own armor, so care was taken in this boot to make it easily fitted to existing armor designs, at the cost of being harder and more complicated to remove.
Taking a page out of the westerns, feet were shot as FFE interns were told to dance! Which to be honest only ended up with one casualty, and that was a shooter. The Duranium boots are tough cookies, not likely to fail you when you need them, or be shot clear of their target surface. They do come with a hand-operated three-finger magnetic release on the side to disengage the maglock. These magnets also be disabled by five-digit voice command in emergencies if the leg is too injured to move, finishing with the word release, releases the boots from the feet entirely. Though they are easy to get on, they are not so quick to get off given how securely they fit, so much so some users prefer the five-digit code then the release word, but even this isn't a very fast way to get off footwear.
When an opposing Triad member holds your lunchables at gunpoint and says design this or every cantina for five miles goes into retirement, well that's a threat to take seriously. Of course, at FFE nobody did, and there was a rash of restaurant closures near this particular testing site.
The Zann Consortium underestimated just how much FFE didn't care about ordering in takeaways, because they still didn't get their boots designed. This forced the Consortium to play almost fair, they had to rob at least two corporate accounts to get the money to pay for this design going forward, and then send free lunch every day to the testing site for two years. Sere was as always non-plussed about the hooliganism, secretly she envied the explosives used and ordered several to be delivered to nearby competitors as new year gifts. #Itsjustahutthing
