IC Heirarchy:
The Black Rose is a Council/Senate government (Democratic). Though the High Lady is the head-of-state, there is a Black Rose Council that acts as her checks and balances in the Covenant of the Black Rose. Any member, regardless of rank, that sits on the Council (made of 13 individuals) holds the title of High Lord/Lady.

Ranks and Titles:
Grand Lady (NPC)
The Grand Lady is the Mother of the Black Rose. This is the highest position anyone in the Black Rose can achieve, but there is only one Grand Lady.
The Grand Lady oversees the Black Rose Council, who are advisers to her, while they are in session. Since the Black Rose has democratic beliefs, the Grand Lady cannot overrule a judgement agreed upon by the Council in favour of one that suits her. However, she can veto a judgement but must provide alternative solutions to allow the Council to discuss among themselves for a new judgement.
The Grand Lady's sole responsibility is the safety and welfare of each member in the Black Rose. For this reason, she rarely travels outside the confines of Black Rose territory delegated her time to ensuring the Black Rose is running smoothly and efficiently.
High Lord/Lady
The High Lords and Ladies is the title given to the members that sit on the Black Rose Council. Regardless of member's rank, anyone can be chosen to have a seat on the Council.
As a High Lord and Lady, it is their duty to conduct investigations, inspections, and maintain that the various programs and projects within the Black Rose remain on schedule. It is also required of them to ensure the citizens under the rule of the Black Rose are treated fairly through levying taxes on consumer products, business establishments, and import and export taxes. In summary, they are the backbone of the Black Rose.
Also, they act as judges when disputes and issues arise between the sects, companies, and both the Naval and Army of the Black Rose. During times of trials, the accused can choose one Lord or Lady to speak on their behalf, while the Council chooses the accused's opposition. The rest will play role of judges. However, only the Grand Lady can pass down the accused's sentence.
Sith Lord/SithLady/Master
The Sith Lords/Ladies/Masters is the highest rank any member can achieve as an individual, minus the rank of Grand Lady. They answer to no one except for the Black Rose Council and the Grand Lady. Though it is possible that lower ranks may sit on the Council, they are to show respect to them.
Those that hold these titles are required to lead forces into battle be it through invasion or defense. During, and only during, times of war are they allowed to hold military ranks. Once hostilities have concluded each Lord/Lady/Master must relinquish their military rank.
As a holder of these ranks/titles, it is their duty to train those under them. Training can be anything from taking Apprentices to conducting classes. Those in this position are required to be active within the Black Rose.
Sith Saber/Knight
Members that hold these ranks make up the bulk of the Black Rose. It is encouraged that they continue to work on their growth while remaining war-time ready.
It is not required of them to train those ranks under them, but it is encouraged for them to active roles in assisting the lower ranks. Like the higher ranks of Lords/Ladies/Master, they are encouraged to teach classes, take the lower ranks out on field trips, and if they desire to take on Apprentices.
Sith Acolyte/Padawan/Apprentice
Once a Tyro has been chosen to study under a Knight or Master/Lord/Lady, they are now considered a part of this ranking system.
It is required of them to learn and study the ways of the Force, the Darkside, and philosophy of the Black Rose. Though it is not required of them, it is encouraged that they begin to seek out a path or many paths as an alternative to being just a Force user.
Tyro
Tyro's are the Black Rose initiates. Hopefuls. Those that fall under this rank/title have yet to prove themselves in the eye of the other Black Rose members. This rank is usually made of people that are new to the ways of the Force and have yet to begin to understand it. (50 posts to achieve above ranks per site rules on Chaos unless the character/writer is new to the site)
Military:
Black Rose Navy
Supreme Admiral:
The Supreme Admiral is a position held by only one. The duty of the Supreme Admiral is to oversee the functionality of the Naval Fleet. Despite it being a military position, it is also a political one. At times the Supreme Admiral will be called upon to act as an ambassador to settle both internal and external disputes. The holder of this position answers only to the Council.
Only the Supreme Admiral has the power to order warships and other naval vessels into hostile territories with the backing of the Council. To ensure the position is not abused, the Supreme Admiral must appeal to the Council for approval before acting. However, in the event any planet under the rule of the Covenant of the Black Rose is invaded by hostile forces, he has the right to act without any appeal or approval from the Council.
Only the Council can appoint a Supreme Admiral. Only a NFU can hold this position.
Vice Admiral:
The Vice Admiral position is only held by one. The position is the second-in-charge of the Navy Fleet. He answers to both the Council and the Supreme Admiral. Unlike the Supreme Admiral is only a military position.
The main focus of this rank is to oversee the Naval Training Academy and to conduct routine inspections of all starships in the fleet. As a side duty, they are to maintain constant contact with every shipyard and report on the status of ships in the docks be it through building of new vessels or issues with current ones.
The Vice Admiral can be appointed by the Supreme Commander after the candidate is approved by the Council. In the event of the death of the Supreme Admiral in war times only, the Vice Admiral will automatically be elevated to the rank of Supreme Commander without the vote of the Council. If this occurs, it will be their responsibility to find a suitable candidate to take their place immediately.
Only a NFU can hold this position.
Fleet Admirals:
The Fleet Admirals oversee the various battle fleets among the Covenant of the Black Rose. Each Fleet Admiral is appointed to a specific fleet where it is their responsibility to ensure their respected fleet is ready at all times.
The number of positions depend on the number of fleets available. Fleet Admirals can be appointed by either the Vice Admiral or the Supreme Admiral without the approval of the Council.
Captains:
The Captain rank is assigned to individuals to run the day-to-day operations of their designated vessel. The Captain's word is law aboard their vessel, which includes Fleet Admirals, the Vice and Supreme Admiral, and the members of the Council.
However, if a high ranking Sith or Master is aboard their vessel then the Captain must confer all decisions with the Sith. In the event of war, again the Captain's word is law and nobody has the right to second guess their decisions.
Captains are chosen by the Fleet Admirals only.
Lieutenant Commanders:
LC's are responsible for the crew and their duties. They pass along orders from the Captain and are responsible for maintaining the efficiency of the crew, while ensuring through inspections and drills that every crew member knows their duty.
Each vessel has two LC assigned to it. In the event of the Captain's death, the most senior LC will temporarily hold the rank of Captain until either an investigation is conducted and completed regarding the death of the Captain or war time activities is halted. In the case of the latter, the Fleet Admiral must find a suitable candidate to replace the passing Captain. If the candidate is one the vessels LC, then the newly appointed Captain must find a replacement for their vacated position immediately.
Squadron Commanders:
Squadron Commanders are in charge of their assigned starfighter group. The number of positions available on starships vary from ship to ship, depending on the type and size of the vessel.
Black Rose Ground Forces (Army)
Supreme Commander:
The Supreme Commander of the Army, like the Supreme Admiral, is a position held by only one. The duty of the Supreme Commander is to oversee the functionality of the Army. Despite it being a military position, it is also a political one. At times the Supreme Commander will be called upon to act as an ambassador to settle both internal and external disputes. The holder of this position answers only to the Council.
Only the Supreme Commander has the power to order ground forces (troops, vehicles, etc) off planet (Black Rose held planet) into hostile territories with the backing of the Council. To ensure the position is not abused, the Supreme Commander must appeal to the Council for approval before acting. However, in the event any planet under the rule of the Covenant of the Black Rose is invaded by hostile forces, he has the right to act without any appeal or approval from the Council.
Only the Council can appoint a Supreme Commander. Only a NFU can hold this position.
Generals:
Generals can be held by as many that are needed. All Generals answer to the Supreme Commander and the Council. Generals are only a military position with no political ties.
Candidates for Generals are chosen only by the Supreme Commander of the Army, and the names put forth for the Council to approve. However, in the event of hostilities and a General is killed in combat, Generals can be temporarily appointed by the SC without the Council's approval and must relinquish their role at the conclusion. At the conclusion of hostilities, the SC can put forth a new name for the Council to approve or the name of the temporary holder.
Generals are responsible for all ground based actions such as planning and troop movements. Only in times of war they need not request approval from the Supreme Commander, but are held accountable for their actions.
Both NFUs and FUs can hold this position. However, only in times of war can a FU hold the rank of General and when hostilities are concluded; must relinquish their position.
Colonel:
Colonels lead ground forces into battle. On the battlefield, their word is law.
Lieutenants:
The rank of LT. is considered the company commanders. Each LT. is assigned a company in a battalion and is is their duty to continue to have their troops battle ready at all times.
In times of hostilities, they answer only to the Colonels in regards to overall orders, but are free to make adjustments as they see fit as the battlefield changes.
Requested Planets: Kesh (Capital), Polis Massa, and Adarlon

Description:
The Black Rose is an Order of Darkside users that can be anything from Sith, Dark Jedi, or Rogue; both male and female. We also encourage NFUs to join since we have a Navy and Army that is looking for a few good men and woman.
One Sith Philosophy vs. Black Rose Philosophy. Where the One Sith follows the codes and teachings of Darth Kryat, the Black Rose follows the teachings of the Lost Tribe of the Sith (hence the difference in titles such as Sith Sabre and High Lords/Lady for example) and ancient Sith Lords and Ladies from the times of the Old Republic (such as Ragnos, Pall, Traya). Where as the One Sith preach all members are equal except for the Hands and Voices of their Dark Lord, the Black Rose resorts back to the ancient belief from the time of the Dark Jedi and Sith species became one; equality is a lie that only through individualism would a Sith grow in power.
The One Sith believe in killing the weak, such as civilians, for personal gains or because they just can. The Black Rose do not believe killing the weak, such as civilians, is feasible for the galaxy to survive. Kill enough people/aliens and the only thing left to rule is empty space. The Black Rose believes that all lives matter, no matter how important or insignificant they are in the grand schemes of the galaxy.
The One Sith plunder and destroy worlds, then spill propaganda about rebuilding the planet. That's right, they do. What they build is structures to only enhance their strengths or oppress the weak. The Black Rose does not use the phrase conquer worlds but instead uses the phrase liberate worlds. The difference, any planet that falls under the rule of the Black Rose will be rebuilt and the civilians treated like civilians rather than cattle to be slaughtered. Also, structures, not all but most, would be erected for the benefit of the civilians. Those civilians that work for the black Rose are called labouers, not slaves.
Equality is a lie. All throughout the history of the Sith this has been one of the driving forces that separated the strong from the weak. From those that had power from those that craved it. The Black Rose supports the relationships between Master and Apprentice (even the Rule of Two for those that taunt the idea) but oppose the sharing of knowledge for free. Everything in the galaxy, including knowledge comes with a price. To hold fast to an understanding that you or anyone else is equal to you in stature, regardless of titles and ranks, is blinding themselves with ignorance.
Rule of One/Dark Lord vs. The Black Rose Council/Grand Lady. The One Sith support a supreme ruler, the Dark Lord, whose word is law. The Dark Lord is the face of the One Sith and those that serve under him such as his Voices and Hands carry out his will. To challenge his will is punishment by death. His power is absolute.
The Black Rose Council and the Grand Lady do not share this absolute law of will. The Grand Lady is the face of the Black Rose but her power is not absolute. In terms of politics she would resemble the Chancellor in many ways while the Black Council is her senate. To ensure the Grand Lady does not seize absolute control, checks and balances are put in place (see description of Grand Lady/Black Rose Council). For this the Black Rose believes in a democratic style of rule rather than a that of a dictatorship. The Black Rose is not nor will ever be an Empire but a Federation.
Where the One Sith teach war and conquest is the only path of the Sith, the Black Rose has undergone a conquest of their own; which is the galaxy has never been meant to be ruled by one singular entity but by a group who share in common beliefs. One such major conquest is putting together an accurate Book of the Sith for all those that follow the Darkside, and not just Sith, to understand and live by. While we follow the ancient Sith Code and not the one proposed by the One Sith (Darth Kryat's Code), the Black Rose follows a secondary code for all members to adhere by.
The Black Rose, because of it's understanding of the galaxy seen through the eyes of their members, encourages it's members to pursue a path of life that is outside the normal realm of Force wielding. Cybernetics, Bio-engineering, Virology, Alchemy, and such other subjects are pursued by most in the Black Rose, while other subjects are always being investigated. The Force is a gift, but your life holds truer value above all else.
In the beginning. The Black Rose, at the creation from the mind of Darth Venefica, had started out as a sub-faction to the One Sith. In truth, it was an all exclusive Order for females of the Sith and any Darkside follower to have an Order that understood the plight of woman in the galaxy; and sought to lay dominance to their gender opposites. As the Order grew in number and it's members began not only working together but finding common ground in shared beliefs and paths, they began to slowly separate themselves from the One Sith. A vote was taken and failed to pass.
Soon the doors of gender discrimination had been pushed open and the Black Rose began accepting males that too shared in their quest for more knowledge surrounding the Darkside and seeking a greater purpose in the galaxy. The influence of the Black Rose began to swell bursting the seams of confinement to just a sub-faction/minor faction of the One Sith; thus raising the idea once more for a separation.
Traitors, labeled by those of the One Sith, began to seek refuge within the Black Rose. Due to the Black Rose Code, judgement of other's views and opinions of the One Sith were allowed to be debated but never challenged on the basis of swaying or ostracizing them for what they hold true to their hearts. Any member, hunted or bountied out by the One Sith, would find protection within the Black Rose.
With the formation of the Black Rose Council came the debates of officially breaking free from the One Sith; which they finally did. Those in the One Sith hierarchy viewed this separation as weakening the One Sith Empire while those in the Black Rose saw the separation as insurance for the survival of the Sith as a whole. Over time, others began to feel isolated from the One Sith. And once again, the halls of the Black Rose saw increased membership.
Today, their is no bond between the One Sith and the Black Rose. Today they are mortal enemies.
The Pitch:
We have dedicated and helpful writers in the Black Rose. Need a Master to train your character? No waiting line. Need help with a development thread? Post an OOC and your thread is done and your new toys are just waiting to be picked up.
We have diversity in the Black Rose. Diversity meaning that we have many paths open to your characters. Want to learn the art of Sith Assassins? We have those that can teach you. Wish to learn more about genetics? We have that too. Or perhaps you seek something darker and far more insidious such as biological or chemical in nature? Yep, we have that.
We at the Black Rose understand that there is more to life than waving a glowstick or tossing around a few parlour tricks. We believe life, regardless of how you make it, should be focused on expanding your minds and your character's growth.
Also, here at the Black Rose we are not just an Order but a family. We are constantly doing threads together (topics vary) and you will never find yourself squirming for that out of reach itch to do a thread. Each one of us will gladly scratch it for you.
