I'ma reply with my Mandoface. Certainly not new to Mandalorians... except I haven't written one on Chaos, until now.
Anyway, Mandalorians are what you make them. Realistically they're anything from soldiers to farmers and blacksmiths, but they have a few simple rules called the
Resol'nare (Six Actions). The precise wording doesn't matter, only that you follow them:
- Wear your armour.
- Speak the language.
- Defend yourself and your family.
- Educate your children as Mandalorians.
- Contribute to the welfare and success of your Clan.
- Obey Mandalore in all things.
The cool thing is that a Mandalorian doesn't need to be born one. Follow the
resol'nare, pledge yourself to
Mand'alor and you could be adopted into one of the many Mandalorian clans (
aliit). Each clan is separate; they have their own leadership and resources, but follow Mandalore as needed. They could contribute food, weapons, whatever - but ultimately at the end of the day the Mandalorians are one people, no matter where they come from or what their walk of life. Sure, they're all warriors to some extent at the end of the day and some are better than others - they usually have a high sense of honour.
But really, they're just regular dudes too.
