Making a modified cannon holocron for other folks

Right, so I am trying to create some fluff for one of our upcoming dominions. And I came across Quinlan Vos' holochron, which is not listed under canon items.

However, there is very little information about this holocron, nothing other than Vos recording lewd messages for his lover. :D

Soooooo, to make it more interesting, I wanted to modify the holocron to hold knowledge on how to have False Light Side Aura but also False Dark Side Aura. I see it fitting as Vos was one of rare Jedi who went full circle - from light to dark and back again. I'd imagine he would record his observations and experiences, perhaps even a recipe how to achieve such a feat. I don't need to explain how tempting would it be for both Sith and Jedi to have an artifact that allows them to effectively infiltrate one another.

So, questions...

1.Can I modify a holochron in such a way?
2.Do I need a submission? (I'll gladly do one)
3.The holocron will be a prize in a dominion. How do we decide which sides gets the holocron? RPJs?
4.Do I need a dev thread?
5.If yes, how do I write it out then? Do I need to RP as Quinlan Vos or?
5.Holochron is not owned by any PCs, but by Kiffu Guardians on Kiffex. Is this a problem?

Thanks in advance :*

Well, the holocron would be a prize in a dominion. So I do expect people would actually compete for such a thing.
So, if I understand correctly, the person who makes the de-facto post in Factory is the owner of the holocron, yes?

How can I make sure beforehand that this holocron is acceptible? Its my creation after all, one that I wish to give away to people who roleplay regularly. I think people deserve gifts sometimes. :)

And dev thread?

Does the dev thread need to be posted by the person who is the owner of the holocron? IMHO, no, since it only needs to be explained how the artifact got into the hands of a PC...and PC can give it away to whomever he/she likes, right?
If I need a dev thread, I'll write it up.

1.Can I modify a holochron in such a way?

This is a two part answer. Yes you may craft and elaborate on a canon character's holocron.

However, you may only add powers, knowledge, and abilities that can be referenced per canon with links.

If this is a power that isn't known by the canon character, then no, a holocron may not be modified to contain it from its creation.

Note, these holocrons are still subject to balance and power; modifying it isn't a catch all to add everything under the sun. Your factory judge reviewing it would be able to guide you with it once you submit it.

2.Do I need a submission? (I'll gladly do one)

As per the regulations of the Unique Canon items.

Owning a Unique Canon Item or Artifact

1. Each writer may possess no more than a total of 5 canon items across all their characters. Factions, companies, and other organizations are unable to claim canon items.

2. Each claim for a canon item must have their own development thread. Depending on the canon item, dev thread requirements may fluctuate.

3. Each Canon item must have their own Factory submission appropriate to its class. I.E. Technology, Vehicles, Starships.

4. Once approved, you may now request to claim it on the Known Owners of Unique Items and link your approved submission.

3.The holocron will be a prize in a dominion. How do we decide which sides gets the holocron? RPJs?

That's up to you; there needs to be a dev thread to create the tech sub. From then the FJ will review the contents and the dev thread and once it is approved, that person may claim it.

4.Do I need a dev thread?

Yes, as referenced in the answer on question 2.

5.If yes, how do I write it out then? Do I need to RP as Quinlan Vos or?

You can write out whatever sort of story makes sense for the canon information in question in the holocron.

5.Holochron is not owned by any PCs, but by Kiffu Guardians on Kiffex. Is this a problem?

1. Each writer may possess no more than a total of 5 canon items across all their characters. Factions, companies, and other organizations are unable to claim canon items.
It will have to be claimed oocly by a writer who has the slots available.

This is again, a two part question.

The Dev thread is to submit the tech sub for the canon item.

Ergo...

2. If i am giving a unique canon item to another writer who has free allotments for canon items, do they still have to do a development thread?

Yes, as per the rules to claim a unique canon item.

You can honestly use the same dominion as the "dev" thread to show whoever won the holocron, because they had to participate in it to begin with in order to win it. A direct chain of ownership so to speak.

This was already done previously with a Weekend Treasure Hunt.
